Paper Lantern Asian Grill & Sushi

We enjoyed our visit on a Saturday snowy afternoon. It was cozy and relaxing, as we had the restaurant to ourselves!! The food and service were fantastic. We had wontons, shrimp and broccoli, vegetable lo mein, and eggs roll.

A pretty good tofu pad Thai. This is the best pad Thai I've found so far. Every other place is not that great

OMG!!!! Apps: Crab Wontons- Beyond AMAZING, Pan-fried Dumplings- over stuffed and delicious!!, Tempura Vegetables- Light batter and fresh. Egg Rolls- Crisp and not greasy, Different taste, not a bad taste, just a different flavor, maybe a little too much Ginger or something.Soups: Hot & Sour- Very good, Tofu small pieces, not huge chunks.Chicken n' Rice- Also very good.Fried noodles- light, crispy, and not greasy at all.Entrees: Honey Sesame Chicken- A lot of meat, huge chucks, very tasty sauce.General Tso's Chicken- Same as HSC, a lot of Chicken, huge, & sauce. Not as spicy as other places, but delicious. Rice, Not fried, side that comes w/dinner. Very Good.Staff: Waitress, she was very attentive and helpful with options. They have a 'Meal Plan' Less than $20, Entree, Egg roll, and choice of soup.Atmosphere: Very cute little place. Very clean Restrooms.Cost: Early dinner for 6. 3 apps, Green Tea,, drinks. Everyone ordered from the Meal Plan, $155 and change, less than $26/ person.Can't wait to try more food from there! Good buy Hunan Manor

First time at the paper lantern, I've driven by this place many times and finally stopped in to give them a try. I typically take photos to accompany my reviews, however I forgot to this time around. The restaurant is very much so a local favorite but I was very underwhelmed with my entire experience. They seemed very short staffed and the food was very Americanized and poor quality. We ordered the shrimp egg rolls, they had a very strange after taste and seemed to be frozen. We also ordered the pan fried dumplings which were not good. I ordered the crispy beef which is my go to at Asian restaurants and the meat was so tough I had about 1/4 and decided to give up. The shrimp fried rice was also ordered and it was mediocre at best. From service to food nothing stood out to me so I will be skipping the paper lantern in the future.

I've passed this place many times over the years. Finally, I stopped in just as they were opening on a rainy Saturday to get some lunch to-go. They have a sushi menu as well as the standard Chinese food offerings you would see at most places. Specifically, I ordered the lunch portion of Orange Chicken which came with rice and a choice of soup. I ordered the egg drop soup and added and additional pork dumping soup on the side. After arriving at my house (about 30 min later), I quickly opened my food to see what this place is all about. The orange chicken and egg drop soup was not bad and the portion size was appropriate for a lunch serving. I did find the chicken to not be very crisp but that is a small complaint. I particularly enjoyed the pork dumplings since they seemed to have a de ent amount of meat to them. The lobby was fairly clean and I can imagine it would be a nice atmosphere when full of patrons. Quick side note. If you want steamed rice with the lunch portion you need to mention it specifically. I was told that they give you fried rice during that time by default. Not sure why, but a good thing to know. I am not in a hurry to go back, but I would try their dine-in as well when I make my way there again. 3 Stars...

Food: American-style Chinese food. My faves (I'm Asian born in US) are spicy string beans with beef. Moo Shu vegetable. Nutty chicken. Singapore rice noodle. Hubby's faves (he's Caucasian) General Tso's shrimp. Spicy string beans w/ beef. Crab rangoons. Sometimes their Thai chow fun is , sometimes it's a bit of a miss. If you are looking for authentic Chinese food, this is not it. But for American-Chinese, they are very good and usually very consistent, which is key. You know what you'll get. And they have decent sushi, too. Super friendly family owned place. The mom is awesome! To all those lower star ratings, likely they were hoping for "real" Chinese food.

I order food from here for 5 people. The service was good but the food was awful. I ordered the General Tso medium spice. It had no flavor and no spice.It was the worst Chinese I have ever tasted. My wife's General Tso was just as bad. I will never eat from there again.

We ordered food to go and the pad Thai was utter mush- inedible. Lemongrass chicken, and other items were good.

Too much onions for Mongolian Beef. The taste tonight is so so. Sometimes it's so delicious. They don't have consistency on taste.

best food and service. food is authentic and delicious!!! friendly staff and quick to serve. I would highly recommend eating here!!!
