Ötzi Mediterranean Market & Eatery

I stopped in here months ago (just weeks after opening in winter 2024) but the place to post an online review seemed not ready on Yelp. I picked up carryout and my wife and I enjoyed our lunch immensely. The best part was chit-chat with the owner, about their personal histories and trail to establishing Otzi. Genuine people you cannot help but root for. Prices were very fair for the portions. I worry about their location, in the former space of Wing Man and Bellissimos. Both those business suffered from location visibility. Otzi is hard to find and almost impossible to see from this busy and high-speed section of MD Route 26. Westbound traffic will have zoomed by before realizing they are upon the building. Eastbound traffic needs to negotiate a traffic light and a bit of a parking lot maze, and would not know Otzi is there until already through that light. Otzi deserves the business traffic to economically support their relocation.

Mt biggest complaint about this place is that if you don't KNOW it's there, you wouldn't know it's there. We just happened to notice it when we stopped at High's today; I'd heard good things word-of-mouth, so we decided to stop in.THIS. BREAD.Oh my gosh, the actual items we ordered were so good, but just the bread alone was amazing. I could eat nothing but that and butter for the rest of my life. It probably would be very unhealthy. But I could do it...haha.We got a Bocadillo and a Shwarma. We usually give each other a bite to try, but I don't ever remember a time we've just wanted to trade halves because they were just both that good. That happened today. I'm happy I know about the place now because I will definitely be back. I hope they might consider some more visible signage in the future because a LOT of people are probably driving right by just like we used to.

Was in the area of Eldersburg for my work and spotted this place close by on Yelp. It is a great find! You walk into a spacious area that is part Mediterranean market where you can get anything from authentic mortadella, guangali, oil, olives and many other delicious treats. I ordered the turkey shwarma on pita and it was very good. The tsatsiki style sauce was good but not drenched. Shell was crispy but soft and delicious flavor. The young man who took my order and showed me around was friendly, polite, smiling and genuinely took pridein his work and it is what you want when you are taking a break from the office. I highly recommend you stop in and look around, buy some delicious food and take some goodies with you.

What a great find was Ötzi! Their menu is fantastic with options for all tastes! We ordered baba ganoush, pizzas and chicken shawarma, and everything was delicious! The pizza dough was perfect, thin, flavorful and not too crunchy. The owners are also very friendly and welcoming. The market side is simple but offer great quality products.

Try the mezze platter, you won't be disappointed- great quality ingredients- best baba ganoush outside my grandma's kitchen. The shwarma flatbread pide with fried egg was delicious!

Great spot for a good sandwich or wood fired pizza! The bread is fresh and tasty! The atmosphere is really nice and the owners are super friendly!

Great food. Shawarma and pizza are excellent. Best pizza I have had in a while. The brick oven clearly makes a difference and the fresh ingredients. Definitely a hidden gem!

Please support a new restaurant in the area. The owner is very nice and I loved the food. Today I got the potato pancake app with an amazing sauce and a Bocadillo sandwich. The sandwich was light on ingredients, only a small amount of ham, but I had this before and liked it so much I got it again. The bread is amazing. I share the concern about the visibility so I'm worried about this place. I never knew it was there until I did a search. So let's support them!

Picked up a few sides for dinner one night. The sides weee freshly made and tasted delicious.

If you're in the Eldersburg area, definitely check out Ötzi Mediterranean Market & Eatery: they have a great little market where you can get a variety of Mediterranean, Italian and French products (Preserved lemons! Gnocci! Fig jam! ...) and a nice little café/carryout and deli. Tiny (so far) but mighty!The food is really good, fresh, delicious and not the same old stuff in the same old way you expect. We had the ... potato thing - I can't remember the name but they are (delicious!) potato patties, crispy fries outside and soft inside, beautifully seasoned and served with a harissa sauce that I found increasingly addictive. We also had shawarma and falafel - both delicious And gluten -free!
