We used to love originals when Angelo was running it, but since he turned it over to the kids, it's gone downhill. We stopped going there because every time my wife orders a calzone it comes out burnt on the outside with cheese, not melted all the way in the center . We decided to eat in our last time there and ordered subs with onion rings after about 20 minutes. The onion rings were delivered to our table " over cooked " and of course I was expecting our sub to follow behind the onion rings. About 10 minutes later, I walked up to the counter and asked hey what's going on with our subs and I was told that the subs would be a little bit and that the onion rings were served as an appetizer while we waited for our subs. Crazy!! it took 45 minutes before we finally got our subs and the second order of onion rings served with our subs, but we were charged for two orders of onion rings even though we didn't eat our first order because we didn't want to fill up on onion rings before our subs were delivered. We expect things like onion rings, french fries and so on to be delivered at the same time with our subs. It's absolutely crazy when a restaurant delivers only half your meal and expects you to eat it and then sit there and wait for the rest to be delivered. My wife being a lifelong local of Union Bridge used to love originals, but has completely turned away from them because of the poor service and subpar food preparation

I'm from this area, born and raised, live in Nashville, TN now. When I come back home which is rare, my first go to things to do are to find my favorite food joints. This weekend, first stop, Original in Union Bridge. My favorite Steak and Cheese hands down anywhere. Home made bread. Board walk fries with vinegar. Awesome pizza.... However if I come it's the steak and cheese all day everyday. Family owned and the bomb with a nostalgic feel. Super thankful for these gems.

Excellent pizza and subs, they make their own dough and sub rolls. It's a really cool little pizza joint in a neat little town. Just make sure you order carry out an hour ahead on the weekends because everybody is ordering from originals .

Small place with a small town feel.Order at the counter and they bring it to you.Food took a little longer than I thought it would considering the amount of people in the dining room. The food was isn't bad - just average.Pizza, shrimp, cheese steak. I found the pizza sauce to have little flavor. The crust had good flavor.

I had driven past this place many times and wondered what it was like inside. It caught my eye with its line of Greco-Roman statues down the sidewalk, colorful flowers, and a large mural on the side of the building. At long last, I made the trip to Union Bridge for no particular reason (it's not really that far from Frederick), and went inside. Parking is across the street in a large, metered lot.The interior is very casual, filled with bright orange booths. You order at the counter, and the waiter brings the food to your table. You pay at the counter when you leave. Please note--they do NOT ACCEPT CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS. Fortunately we had cash...Menu is fairly large and includes pizza, sandwiches, appetizers, and many other items. A sign on the counter advertised homemade rice pudding. We tried a large veggie pizza, which came out rather quickly and was delicious and high quality. I would like to try the white pizza when I go back. Service is efficient and no fuss.My favorite aspect of Original Pizza is that it is in effect a museum of local history. It has the largest collection of old photos of the surrounding area that I have seen in one place. The walls are covered with historical photos, letters, and newspaper clippings, and several display cases of historical items line the walls. A rather unorthodox piece of wall art in the rear of the restaurant shows what appears to be, er, Christoper Columbus bringing pizza to the new land. Egads! Photo attached. So if you are a local history buff, or if you merely enjoy a good pizza and find yourself near Union Bridge, check it out. And then head down to the Union Bridge General Store (see my review of that for more info) for all your diverse shopping needs. Or Esquire Liquors, if you have other plans (ok, really the name Esquire Liquors just amuses me!). If you are feeling truly, truly bold, swing by for a hair cut at the cleverly-named Hair and Now salon (but maybe swing by Esquire first to steel your nerves)...

I had never stopped at Original Pizza. I stopped for lunch and an awesome cheesesteak on fresh bread and while waiting I had a slice of cheese pizza. It was delicious. Cooked perfectly. The sauce to cheese ratio was perfect. A few days later I drove back to get a whole pizza for dinner. Each time I was there the service was great and the workers are friendly. There may be 10-12 tables and the decor is throw back to 70's or 80's. Great little spot. You won't be disappointed!

I've been going to this place as long as I can remember and the food is always great. Their homemade pizza and sub roll dough is far superior to others I've tried. The tossed salads are fresh and tasty and the eggplant Parmesan sub is the best around. The family that runs this place is awesome, as well. Now I've made myself hungry... think I'll place an order right now!

I came here after moving here cause everyone said it was so good. Their food is good, they make their own sub rolls which are great. Pizza is good. Pricing for somethings is kinda meh. Though i did order a chicken salad and it was barely a salad. It was a very dinky little salad. Was really disappointed. 3 things tho. 1, parking sucks. 2, half the time it takes forever to get through on the phone. And 3, the owner is a jerk and the staff always look miserable when you walk in. Like no one is fun to talk to or anything, they're very short with you. If i have a choice, i go to Classicos instead. Few more mins of an extra drive for me but the family is so friendly and they always look happy, even asked my son if he wanted to learn to make his own pizza. They're definitely a more family oriented place.I will say i did have a bad experience at Originals about 2 years ago. My daughter was about a year and we were there at Christmas for a school function. I had asked my dad to watch her for a min and he must not have heard me. I saw out of the corner of my eye that she was walking to their downstairs steps. I was just walking to get her and as i was calling her name, the owner yelled, extremely rudely" people watch your kids". Yes my daughter was in the wrong but he didn't need to be an ass, half the restaurant heard him and maybe if you're going to have a "family restaurant " probably shouldn't have an open stair case open where anyones child could fall down. Kind of a safety issue to begin with.
