ServiceThe service here is excellent! We came with a large delegation and were able to reserve and place our order ahead of time, which made everything seamless. The staff was attentive and efficient. I noticed takeout orders were prepared in 10 minutes or less, which is impressive!TasteThe food was phenomenal--hands down the best Chinese cuisine I've had. I tried the sesame chicken, tofu, fish, and kung pao chicken, and each dish was perfectly cooked and flavorful.AmbianceWhen you see a lot of Chinese diners, you know the food is going to be authentic and amazing. The restaurant was bustling but still well-organized and welcoming, a great sign of quality.RecommendationThis spot is a must-visit for authentic Chinese food. Whether dining in or taking out, the experience is worth it. I'll definitely be back for another round of delicious dishes!

I was between a 3 star and 4 star (more 3) and yelp confirmed it averaging this place to 3.5 or something, I appreciate it being a Chinese owned business, selling a variety from typical American-Chinese to other things. There is a super large menu. I got the General Tso chicken and wonton soup lunch deal for $10.40. Good deals. Average, tasted as expected but still decent. Only nitpick, call me crazy, but fried rice should have other stuff in it, this rice is just fried with nothing else.

We're in Mt Vernon every day these days, and thought we would explore restaurants that we wouldn't normally drive into the city to experience. We're looking for an Indian place for butter chicken, and a Chinese spot with quality egg rolls and shrimp toast. I was perusing yelp and was drawn to the Orient Express because they have double cooked pork - which is one of Jeremy's all-time favorite Szechuan dishes.I was disappointed that none of my favorites were on the menu. No crispy beef or mongolian beef. No shrimp toast. I was excited to see several duck choices, but were quickly told they didn't have duck. So I settled on Fragrant Ribs. They were WAY saucier than I expected - as in they come in a bowl filled with sauce and you have to fish the bits of ribs out of it. And I did not like the taste of the broth at first. I added duck sauce and sweetened black vinegar. The ribs have a lot of bone and cartilage, but they are quite tender. I still wouldn't order it again.Jeremy was THRILLED with the double cooked pork, though. It's on par with Szechuan 12 in Timonium. The egg rolls are crispy and delicious. We also got lamb with cumin, which is pretty tasty. However, none of it really hit the spot with me. And Jeremy didn't finish any of it, which is rare for him. Usually, if he likes something, he doesn't come up for air. He eats until there isn't any left.Maybe we weren't actually in the mood for Chinese? I didn't know that was even possible! Maybe I should have stuck to the American Chinese section? I'm usually an adventurous eater. To be completely honest, it is quite possible that I was just not feeling it, but this also means that I am going to continue my search for a More-than-just-American-Chinese spot that blows my mind. But if Jeremy's craving double cooked pork, I'd come back here and try other things.

This place is incredibly good Szechuan food for a local, hole in the wall place. Highly recommend!

The wontons here are divine. Very flavorful and tasty. The Dandan noodles were also great, but may have been a bit on the saltier end.

Oh my gosh! When I stepped into Orient Express it looked familiar. Then, I realized they had the same menu and vibe as my favorite Sichuan restaurant in Towson. Well, they are owned by the same people. I was so ecstatic to have them in a location closer to me, which I hadn't even realized. The Veggie Lo Mein was perfect, not oily, and had a great flavor. I also ordered the Cumin Fish Filets which I love. They are fried perfectly and again, not oily. Be aware of the spice, if you don't enjoy the numbing spice.

I ordered Shrimp Lo Mein and I was not expecting jumbo shrimp, come on! They ought to be ashamed selling these little itsy bitsy shrimp! Then they charge you 4% fee for using a credit card! Who does that? Never again! Won't be ordering from them ever!

Two restaurants in one. Both excellent. Upstairs is the authentic Chinese with menu in Chinese. Downstairs is "American Chinese". For lunch I prefer the commercial quick downstairs. For dinner upstairs is special. Note: heat scale is kicked up a notch at both places. And while the Chili's are large enough to push to the side.Kung Pao shrimp lunch special was an amazing meal. Egg roll is fully stuffed with cabbage and carrots. It doesn't look like a destination spot from outside, but it is! The food is special!!

I absolutely loved this place! The restaurant seems small but has an upstairs too. We stayed downstairs and there was a few tables open. The carry out business here was incredible on a Tuesday night. We got the vegetable dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, and Eggplant in garlic sauce. Everything was fresh, delicious, and flavorful. I couldn't find anything wrong with this place. You can tell they care about the food. They don't serve alcohol, but we did bring a bottle of wine. This is a must try for good Chinese food in Baltimore. We will come back again and again.

Worst dining experience ever. We seated ourselves, grabbed our own menus, and waited 15 mins without anyone acknowledging us. Despite being ignored, a larger party that came in was immediately seated and attended to. When we finally spoke up, the lady told us to order at the counter, with an extremely rude attitude. I speak Mandarin and was polite throughout, but her tone was disrespectful and belittling. This was our first time at the restaurant, and we will not be return. Save your money and choose a place that actually values their customers.
