Made a reservation for lunar new year on January 29th, and was promptly seated the moment we stepped in. This was my first time here, and I had no idea this restaurant had three levels - each of which had plenty of seating and different vibes. The first and second floor were definitely louder and more vibrant, while the top floor felt more intimate with its quieter atmosphere. We were hungry and decided to get multiple dishes to share, including the Egg Scallion Fried Rice, Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Steam Pork Dumplings, Shrimp Dumplings, and Crispy Orange Beef. No notes, everything was amazing. Definitely recommend the fried rice, there was a huge portion. The lettuce wraps were to die for - a little messy, but the lettuce can wrap it up pretty nicely. The soup dumplings aren't any different from others I've had, but the broth was quite delicious. I'd also like to add that the service was above and beyond. Even though the restaurant was almost full, our waiter was super attentive and kind.

The first time I had NiHao, I had the chive dumplings and the numbing green peppercorn flounder. That dish was so good that I craved it. Last night, I dined in and had the duck spring rolls, scallion bubble pancake, and triple mushroom tofu. The bubble pancake was good, the sauce that came with it was excellent. The duck spring rolls were good but a little bland. They didn't have much duck in them and the sauce was good, but they only put a little drizzle on top. My main course was too salty and too saucy. The texture of the tofu was chewy and dry. It was missing the umami flavor I expect in Asian food. I was expecting a comforting dish and this was not it. My date had the shredded pork and it was too sweet for my pallet. It felt like they were trying to cater to American tastes more than I'd like. Not as authentic as I was expecting. The ambience was okay. They squeeze the tables in pretty close to each other. The decor is a little slapped together. Paper napkins and laminated, poorly designed menus are not what I expect at that price point. Not sure what they're going for but it's certainly not fine dining.Service was okay. They seemed to be juggling a lot of tables so I really think he was doing the best he could. They didn't clear our entree plates before dropping the check, or at all in fact. It was kinda gross staring at those dirty plates up until we left. There were bussers and food runners, but everyone seemed overwhelmed. If I were to get NiHao again, I'd just do takeout and stick with the flounder. Their green beans are also excellent.

I have dates nights almost every week and I was looking for a place to enjoy dinner, NiHao came up as a recommendation. I was able to make a same- day reservation on a Monday night. The place is clean with about three levels to the restaurant. Our server, Brandon was very helpful knowledgeable of the menu items. I will definitely come back the fire cracker salmon spring rolls. The sizzling cumin spicy lamb was delicious and I loved the beautiful presentation. I also enjoyed the crystal shrimp dumplings made with clear wheat starch. I highly recommend the sweet sour crispy branzino, covered with sweet sour vinaigrette and finished with scallion red peppers. This dish is a bit spicy but full of flavor.

Came here for lunch on a Friday and was seated and served very quickly. We ordered a variety of dishes (see images and captions) and really enjoyed all of them. The food is close but not fully authentic, and delicious nonetheless. Especially liked the dry fried green beans, which had a pickled garlicky garnish. Generous portion sizes. Side street parking, some free and some paid, nearby. Clean interiors with plenty of seating.

The food wasn't as good as I was expecting. Everything could've used a bit more flavor in my opinion. The service was okay, different treatment by table for sure by the waiters...which is weird. and the ambience was actually terrible. It looked really nice online so we went as a date night...however it was not a nice restaurant AT ALL!!

Walked in on a Saturday night and was quickly seated for table of 2. We were there for dim sum so we tried a lot of small plates which were great. The signature soup dumplings weren't the best but everything else was very hot and tasty. Would return again to try a few of their dinner entree dishes which smelled and looked amazing

Got the whole Peking duck, crab pork soup dumplings, and dumplings for three. The duck was so so good, for a US Peking duck. The soup dumplings were average, and the fried dumplings seemed oddly gyoza-like. But I still enjoyed it! Bill divided was around $40 per person.

Old review; Soft opening for the relaunch tonight!!!New menu... dim sum and a variety of more traditional dishes. Seems like some popular items from other Chang locations like soup dumplings and chongqing red pepper chicken (I think both of those are at Chang's Bethesda location).Limited drink menu currently but full food is available.Since the soft opening, we have eaten in several times and do take away on a regular basis. This place is awesome!

There's a reason for all the acclaim: this is a fantastic restaurant. This was my first time back in a few years--since they reopened--and I love the changes they've made. The quality and preparation of each dish we had were excellent, the portions weren't tiny, our server was super knowledgeable about the dishes, and everything was delicious.I got the bubble pancake (DO IT, it's so fun and so tasty--don't miss the sauce!), the signature pork soup dumplings (the best I've had in Maryland), and the triple mushroom chicken special (correct proportion of more mushrooms than chicken). I also tried a bite of the chicken lettuce wrap, the garlic eggplant, and the crispy calamari. All were great. We'll definitely be back much sooner than later. Parking wasn't bad on a Thursday evening, and we didn't have to wait for a table (surprising!). The dishes come out as they're ready, so don't wait for it all at one time :)

Great vegetarian options!!!!Went here for the first time & was super impressed. The veggie gyoza was a stand out. The price to feed 2 people with leftovers was not bad at all. We went for an early weekday dinner and got served extremely quickly.
