Nancy by SNAC

The owner Kevin is well-known by the community. It's a simpler menu but a colorful atmosphere of the movers and shakers in Baltimore with beautiful art on the walls.You might get to experience an art installation while you're there, chat with a local councilman or learn about an art opening from a local artist. This is where strangers become acquaintances and acquaintances become friends.

Great little spot on North Ave. The inside is definitely a feast for the eyes, the outside is plain and belies the riot of color and pattern once you step in. The menu is small and seems to be ever changing. The cornbread was especially wonderful! The sandwiches were stuffed and very good. Simple but delicious. The characters behind the counter are also wonderful and friendly. If you find yourself in the area, this is a wonderful spot. The college employs police that give some sense of security to an otherwise sketchy location. Worth it!

This Spot is Thee Breakfast/Brunch spot to go to before work or school! Kevin has been a dose of medicine my soul needs this past 2 years I have been going ! He and his staff put love in every bite! If you are new to Baltimore or a Baltimore Native you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! My favorite dish is hard to choose but if you making me choose here is what you should have in this order:1: Cornbread Waffle with 2 slices of Turkey Bacon2: a cup of coffee of course3: Turkey Chili with a slice of Sweet Corn Bread the turkey chili is a hug to your tummy4: shrimp salad sandwich on5: snac stack it's everything you need!It's not just any ol place it's a place to receive the history of Baltimore and Network with Baltimore natives...even the outer town people are super Dope! It's an art Gallery right inside the restaurant with special features artist from MICA....Did I mention the "Kevin Experience" I can't even really tell you about it you have to experience it for yourself ! There is no place anywhere like Nancy by SNAC! Good food - really yummy and most cooked right there, in their like-home kitchen. The main goal of Nancy, and its owner, Downtown Kevin Brown, is that customers feel like friends -- actually members of the Nancy family! Every inch of the place not being used to cook or eat on, is covered by creativity and color!In other words...the food is great -- if the cornbread waffles are on the menu the day you're there don't miss 'em; the casual caring service is superb --you will be happier when you leave than when you got there; and the ambiance is without equal!!

I was looking for a quick lunch near the Baltimore Penn Station. I wandered past the local McDonald's, and saw this amazingly attractive museum diner, Nancy's by SNAC, which was just finishing lunch service, but it was pouring rain, so I took a chance to drop in. The art wasn't an afterthought: it was a bold visual metaphor for the meal to come. Kevin greeted me instantly and stopped to see what I might want to have. I saw others really enjoying their sandwiches and breakfast eggs, but I saw the special was chipped beef on biscuits, and I really wanted to try the biscuits, so I ordered it, along with scrambled eggs. The gravy was perfect on the chipped beef, and it was lathered over the flaky biscuits. Kevin felt sorry for me and slipped me two extra biscuits, and we had a minute to chat about the business, and his former career as a special educaiton teacher. Everything about Nancy's, including the value of the meal, makes it a definite reason to visit again when I return to Baltimore: I loved the straightforward high quality food, the ambience of the art; the genunine hospitality, the relationship to the art gallery next door!

I'm a foodie and artist and I love Kevin Brown need I say more I love this place!!! This was icing on the cake. An installation that was amazing , was on the walls furniture and picture frames.

Love the artistic atmosphere, customer service and yummy treats. Great place to work from in the morning or meet up with someone for a coffee and brunch. Look forward to coming back and checking out the art more. Thanks for the chat Kevin and incredible homemade bread pudding!

Met the infamous Kevin of Nancy, interesting character. There for a business meeting. Ambiance was eclectic as to be expected. Food for vegetarian was needing more options. Hasbrowns came out good but in a 1/4 ounce plastic bowl. Seasoning& heat were okay, but needed more onion and sweet peppers for visual appeal. Had the quiche leeks and gruyere i believe, decent sizeWhile there meet politician Carl Stokes, and talk about state of affairs. Always been a decent dude, who shares his perspectives.If on North Ave, stop in and see Kevin. He knows anybody you want to know.

We were so warmly welcomed by Kevin and his team! What a wonderful spot for a couple of clueless New Yorkers who just happened to walk in off the street looking for a place to warm up and get some lovely, simple food.Thank you for taking such good care of us!
