Mt. Vernon Supermarket

The name of the place can be deceiving since it is a convenience store (not a supermarket). They do have a great beer/wine selection as well as a wide range of liquors. They also carry many snacks and kitchen staples. They are not open on Sundays (probably due to state alcohol restrictions), but they are open quite late on other days. A great local spot when you need to put together a party in a pinch! Be prepared for the convenience store pricing though.

Supermarket is essentially a liquor store with a rather extensive grocery section for your convenience. The good: 9 times out of 10, if a local brewery releases a new, fun, craft beer, Supermarket will have it soon almost immediately after the release announcement. Local breweries like Peabody Heights, DuClaw, and Union all have a big presence here, as well as New Belgium/Voodoo Ranger and 21st Amendment for out-of-town craft fair.The okay: The prices are just that-okayThe bad: Selections of most of the spirits are kept behind the checkout counter, so they're impossible to browse and difficult to make out the prices on-some aren't marked at all. Also, a lot of their stock is very old (many bottles are dusty even), and I've bought expired beer a few times here (who thinks to check beer?!).For certain craft beers, supermarket is a good choice. Otherwise, there's better liquor stores for better value, better stock, and a better shopping experience.

I appreciate how kind staff and wide selection of craft beer & wine. It's uncommon to be greeted so warmly by staff of a beer/wine store (with late hours) in Baltimore. Most employees are cold and skeptical of everyone. This place as a wide selection of grocery items as well.

Why didn't I know about this place sooner? For nearly a year, there I was frequenting that shady little liquor store at Eager and St Paul for "cheap" beer and wine and liquor, when MV Supermarket has been under my nose the whole time, and is slightly less shady, with actual cheap beer and wine and liquor.To call itself a "supermarket" is more than an overstatement as it's more so just a nook of a convenience store, but all of your basic alcohol needs and then some are here. Random thought: they carry that gourmet "Rao's" brand pasta sauce, which I'm impressed about.

I have high-hopes for anything in Mt Vernon. We all know that Baltimore could use more supermarkets so I'm sure these guys are doing pretty well. It's not the neatest of all stores but in true Asian style they have stuff packed in here. This one is a bonus because I think it's actually more of a liquor store. They stock stuff you would want in an emergency... they have liquor, wine, beer and some groceries like kitchen sponges, Ben and Jerry's Greek frozen yogurt and ramen noodles!

This place has everything you can think of, liquor, beer, and a mini convenient store.IIf you are drunk, come here...maybe you need more booze..maybe you need some alka selzer...IIf you are hungry come here, there is a extensive selection of oriental food and of quick meals.If you want to drink, come here...you will find a large selection of liquor, wines, and beer.Talking about beer. they are so cool that they can order your favorite beer. If you need toilet paper...you will find that here too.It's pretty much a little royal farms minus the fried chicken but plus the liquor and the ramen.Oh and they have awesome late hours, so it's convenient for those that have forgotten that little something from the grocery store.

There are only a handful of things to take into consideration here. First off, the folks who run it are super nice. If you come in on even a fairly regular basis, the people remember you, and that's something nice. Very Baltimore...Things here are a little pricey, but they have a great selection of just about everything you can imagine. You're paying mostly for the convenience at this place, so realistically, you should only come here after everywhere else in the neighborhood is closed if you're trying to be economical.

They have everything in this place! everything!if there is an odd something I need from pasta sauce to fresh muster cheese, to Kimchi? Boom. Done.. got it all at the supermarket. They could store their wine a bit better (not to the ceiling next to the lights), but other than that - the service is great, I can bring my dog in when I need to grab something on the walk, and if there is a wine I like, they will order/stock it .Again - if you need something. Go to the Supermarket because 8 out of 10 times... They have it

Very expensive but good selection and friendly staff. Apparently the only liquor store in the neighborhood, but they go way beyond that with food selection.

Very convenient as a Mount Vernon resident. Great selection of alcohol (beer, wine, tequila, soju etc) and price is very reasonable!
