Great bread! I've had their sourdough at Artifact Coffee and Le Comptoir Du Vin and it's one of the few slices of bread that doesn't irritate my stomach (I'm gluten intolerant). I realized that their online ordering was actually quite easy and their pick up hours were a bit more accessible than I remember them being. I ordered my sourdough loaf online a few days in advance for a Thursday pick up. I stopped in around 3pm and the loaf was quickly wrapped up for me. I asked if it could be sliced like the white bread loaf can but I was informed that the classic sourdough loaf is too large to fit in the slicer. I also love the fact that they offer a pay what you can program and a pay it forward option. And judging by their fundraising for important causes, this is a business I will continue to support. For $7, I thought it was a great deal for such a large and beautiful loaf. It froze and reheated very well too so none of it went bad. I wish I could try more of the menu but I should probably play it safe. If you're gluten intolerant and tend to be able to tolerate sourdough, I definitely recommend giving their classic loaf a try.

The English muffins are out of this world. Come here for those alone. Their classic loaf is quite good; nice and wheaty. Pastries that we have had so far have been tasty as well. The "pay what you want" model is interesting and I wonder how many people actually ask to pay something different from what is suggested.Staff are always super friendly and there's a decent chance that what you take home came out of the oven just seconds before. They are quickly becoming my go-to source for quality bread in Baltimore.

Hands down one of the best bakeries that I've ever visited. I've driven by many times, seeing lines out the door, but it was only recently that I finally made it there. They have a variety of items that the shop changes up which makes every visit a new experience. The owners are super friendly and always willing to educate me on all of their products.

Located in the Harwood section in Charles Village, Motzi Bread is my new favorite bakery in Baltimore. Ever since Hoehn's Bakery (https://www.yelp.com/biz/hoehns-bakery-baltimore?sort_by=date_desc) unexpected and sadly closed in September of this year, every time I'm in the area, I make sure to stop by this unassuming shop for some of the BEST baked goods around. We bought a bunch of different items, including a loaf of their challah bread, a few pain au chocolats, and a piping hot savory tomato and herb focaccia. Everything was fantastic. The pan au chocolat had a flaky but not dry texture and the filling was a high quality semi-sweet chocolate. But that tomato and herb focaccia - dang, that was tasty! Super fresh heirloom cherry tomatoes were split, topped with herbs, salt, and a light coating of oil, and then baked to perfection. Even with a load of toppings, the focaccia bread was not soggy. Challah bread was used for breakfast the next day when I was hosting family for brunch, and was enjoyed toasted with a bit of butter, cut and used for a few slices of French toast, and also torn and used to sop up sunny side up eggs.Owners Russell Trimmer and Maya Munoz live directly above the space and I love supporting places like Motzi Bread, especially when you read about their business philosophy and practices: https://www.motzibread.com/about.I also highly admire Motzi Bread's "pay what you can" policy, since this means no patrons get turned away which benefits those members of the community who might be impacted by food insecurity.

I hardly leave reviews but everywhere I travel I stop by at least two or three local bakeries and always try a chocolate chip cookie. After probably six years of chocolate chip cookie stops across the eastern and west U.S, Motzi's ccc takes the number one spot! It was delicious--the chocolate was melted, the outer edges crispy yet light, subtle salty in the sweet buttery batter bites. Motzi is definitely a must-try!! If I was local, I'd be here all the time. Lucky Charles Village folks have a gem!

Motzi Bread is a lovely, local, bakery offering delectable brown-bread loaves to complement your meals all week long. On the day the bread is baked, its hearty outer crust belies the soft, spongy, even sticky interior. It's amazing dunked in hot soup, spread generously with peanut butter and honey, or even just eaten on its own. While Motzi Bread recently opened a bakery, the grand opening has been stymied by the advent of COVID-19, and so instead they are offering an online ordering system through their website, which can then be picked up from their front porch "Bread Library" directly above the bakery (how cute!). There is a strictly one person on the porch at a time policy, and they have wisely double bagged all breads so you can discard the outer bag when reaching home. Forget the 6 foot distancing rule because I have observed baker Russell staying about double that distance away from passersby as he takes the responsibility of food safety very seriously. It is appreciated Russell! Unsurprisingly, given that example, Maya and Russell, the bakers and owners, are both fabulously kind people, and deserve our every support. They have baking cred, too - Russell formerly led the bread team at Woodberry Kitchen! So far we have tried their baguette (delicious), the rye (tasty), the sesame (yum) and the classic (my favorite!!). Not only is their bread amazing but they also have a social mission, providing frequent donation loaves to local charities, and providing discounts to those who need them. Now there's a cause (and loaf) worth embracing with open arms!

I really wanted to like this bakery. I support their mission and I had heard their bread was great. Unfortunately the bread had been underproofed (it was completely flat), underbaked and burned at the same time (it was gummy in the middle) and it tasted flavorless. It was not the quality I would expect from a bakery, more like from a friend who had just started learning how to make bread.

Best croissant I've ever tasted, and I spent two weeks in Paris. The focaccia was to die for, and the baguette was over the top. The ethical standards they uphold in both sourcing ingredients and selling are the highest. Even the cocoa, coffee and chai were all delicious. I look forward to sampling the entire menu. Run, don't walk to Motzi Bread.

Motzi bread is the absolute best bakery in town! In addition to being delicious, the owners are true stewards of the local community. We are especially grateful because we have a child with multiple food allergies and it can be hard to find a bakery that is safe--since we found out it's safe, we've made a stop at Motzi a part of our weekly routine!
