Prior to this recent visit, I had not been to Mother Rucker's in YEARS. I am glad to see they survived the pandemic and the changing demographics of the neighborhood.The bread that they use has perfect consistency and taste and all of their subs are good. Service is friendly and usually quick. Best subs in DC - I said it!! Even though they appear to be closed, they are probably open. Park your car and stop in! I will be back again soon.

Goood thangs here!! I was told about this spot by one of friends.. I was craving a good sandwich but didn't wanna get one of the regular corny spots lol. So I said let me place my order via UberEats. It was delivered pretty quick and with love. I open that plastic bags like a savage looking for scraps. The size was right! The smell was right!! The look it self was sold to me before I bit into the heavenly sandwich! The first bite alone was and orgasm to my taste buds. Fresh cold cuts,fresh bread, fresh toppings, fresh sauces! What more do you want?!? I love the experience and I'm looking forward to for more of this spot in the coming days.. Thank you Mother Rucker! Oh yeah BLACK OWNED!!!!!!

This place is across the street from my house, so if I'm home and craving a sub, i go to Mother Rucker's.Their subs are solid. I've only ever had the veggie and the tuna sub. Staff is friendly and efficient. Pro tip: get your bread toasted. If not the wetness of the oil/vinegar/wet ingredients will make your bread soggy. There's never a long wait, so you're able to get in and out quickly. They have a good selection of chips as well.They accept cashapp as payment.

I love this " Black Owned" sandwich spot ! I always get the largest sandwich possible because it's hard to eat sandwiches from other places . I can eat on a " Mother Ruckers " sub for two days . Make sure to always get the 23 and 24 .... It's loaded with meat . They never have my red or purple onions but their sandwiches are soooo good that I by pass all of that . This an environment for you to park your car, order, pick up and leave . Don't expect a fancy restaurant .... Have hospitality meaning speak, pay for your sandwich, and dip ! You will be okay ! Each time I visit " mother Ruckers " I get excited like it's my first experience lol

The sandwich was AMAZING. I would have rated it five stars, but the service was super slow. My man behind the counter was doing the best he could, but his partner had left to go run an errand right in the middle of lunch time, so they got kind of backed up. Once there was a second set of hands on deck, the service sped up. Next time I need a sub, I would definitely go back.
