MLK King Gyro And Kabob

Yesterday, I ordered lunch from MLK King Gyro and Kabob. I placed my order online at 2:19 PM and received a prompt text message stating that it would be ready for pickup at 2:30 PM. I arrived at 2:43 PM, only to find that my food wasn't ready yet. However, the staff was friendly and offered me a seat while they finished preparing my order. The setup at the counter is similar to Chipotle, with premade items like chicken, rice, and salad, but they keep everything covered, which is a nice touch. I also requested a side of green sauce, which was packed with my order as asked. My food was finally ready by 2:51 PM.While this is primarily a carryout spot, they do have a table and chairs available for seating. Parking in DC can be a gamble, and they offer street parking with Parkmobile.When I got home, the food was still warm, which was a plus. The portion sizes were generous, especially the chicken rice bowl, though the presentation was a bit messed up by the time I arrived. The lamb tikka bowl seemed to be a fair portion for the price. The bread that came with the meal was impressively soft, light, and thin.As for the taste, the rice reminded me of Rice-A-Roni. The lamb was chunky, a bit chewy, and lacked flavor. On the other hand, the salad was fresh and added a nice pop of color to the meal. The chicken was juicy but could definitely use more seasoning. The star of the meal was the green sauce, which was delicious, and I ended up using most of it with the bread.

I stumbled across this spot during my lunch break. I found it welcoming to have a new and diverse food option. I ordered the combo platter with lamb, chicken over rice, and a salad. The food tasted fresh, and I enjoyed every bite.I commend the owner for making me feel valued and appreciating my business. I'm confident that others will also enjoy the food, and this establishment has all the elements to thrive and succeed, especially in this location.

I came in here for lunch around 12 on a Monday and there was only two people ahead of me. My friend and I were in and out in 10 minutes so we didn't wait long at all! The worker who served my bowl was friendly and professional. It looked very, very clean in there. It's kind of chilly in there so if you plan to sit down I'd bring a light sweater if you're sensitive to the cold.Now onto the food. I got the gyro bowl that comes with rice and a side of salad as well as tiramisu. The salad is put inside the same container as the hot food, FYI. I think it's meant to be enjoyed together! But anyways, man, all I can say is DELICIOUS. The lamb was nice and hot, flavorful, and most importantly MOIST! Nothing worse than overcooked, dry lamb. Got it with the white sauce (light and kind of tangy like some Mediterranean sauces) drizzled on top, which is bomb btw, and the salad got a green sauce that was very herby/cilantro and fresh tasting. The rice was also perfectly cooked and not dry. I have had a bite of my friend's chicken bowl before coming here (which is what prompted me to come here myself) and it was equally just as tasty. Tiramisu taste like you're basic tiramisu--which is to say mouthwatering and delectable as tiramisu always is! No complaints, 10/10 recommend.

Had this lamb gyro platter for 12 $.. big portions and fresh ingredients and would highly recommend to try their gyro bowl ... i ll definitely come back to try other items

The food was very good. I had the lamb bowl with roasted chick peas. Will definitely return.

Huge portions and absolutely delicious food. Well seasoned! Get the chicken and gyro platter. You may want to get the sauce on the side.

My co-worker and I was looking for a place to grab lunch that was a more healthy option and stopped in at King Gyro and Kabob. The services was fast and courteous and the food was so good! The menu has a variety of options; I actually got the Gyro bowl and was very impressed. The restaurant is also clean and very stylish. This is going to be a favorite spot for a quick meal.
