LET ME TELL YOU. THE FOOD. THE DRINKS. THE ATMOSPHERE. I loved it all, how highly recommend this to be people that love soul food and need a place to take yourself and friends. Definitely reserved first to guarantee a table and if you love rum try that cocktail called secrets, it tastes like juice. Btw my waitress was amazing!

Two families and a party of eight for Brunch based on a recommendation. We had a 1:00 reservation and they were busy. Located in Northwood Commons with a mix of retail and restaurants. Medium size with sections and varied seating. We started with appetizers-Oysters on the half shell, Fried Green Tomatoes and crab fries. All were delicious! Decided to go with the Charbroiled and jambalaya Oysters as a meal. Both were excellent with jambalaya standing out given the lump crap and Lobster topping-took it over top!Entrees we ordered were: Whole roasted Cajun Snapper, Roasted Creole Chicken, Lamb Chops, Loaded Burger and Fried chicken Sandwich. All hit the spot and were enjoyed.Service was attentive and friendly. Reservations are recommended. If you're missing NOLA, this is the spot.

Stopped by Miss Toya's Creole House on a Sunday for brunch. We didn't have reservations, so we had to join the waitlist, which took about 30 minutes. The restaurant is fairly spacious, with a mix of booths, tables, and a bar area. There was music playing, but the noise level was so high that I could barely hear the music or the person sitting across from me.We started with the charbroiled oysters, which ended up being the worst oysters I've ever had. Every bite had an unpleasant crunch--whether it was bits of shell or gravel, I couldn't tell, but it completely ruined the experience. For my main course, I ordered the fried pork chops, which were supposed to be smothered, but I requested the gravy on the side since I'm particular about it. My sides were broccolini and mac & cheese. Unfortunately, the pork chop had no seasoning, and even the gravy didn't taste great. The broccolini was overcooked, and the mac & cheese was just okay. The best part of my meal was actually my drink--a passionfruit lemonade. However, they don't mix the syrup and lemonade, so all the syrup settles at the bottom. I had to stir it myself, but since they fill the glass to the top, it spilled as I tried to mix it. Some extra napkins would have been helpful, but the server seemed a bit aloof, which took away from the overall dining experience.Social media hyped this place up as a must-visit spot, but based on my experience, I doubt I'd return. Even the restroom was disappointing--while it looked clean at first, inside the stall, there was no toilet paper in the holder. Instead, a roll was just sitting on top of the sanitary napkin disposal, which felt careless and off-putting.Parking is also tight since the restaurant is in a busy plaza with several other stores, so keep that in mind. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the hype, and I wouldn't go back.

I would recommend this business to friends. I was there to celebrate my lil peanut head sisters 50th birthday. This was a rainy day, and I waited for this food all day. I know a few folk who been here before, but they were the other locations in Maryland. This spot just opened up. The parking was at a strip mall which to me is better than a garage. There was several stores around so a parking spot always opened up. Because it was raining, the floors were wet. My in-law had to warn my about the first step going inside because it was slippery. And my first step in there was slippery. I had to be careful because going forward cause my ass would have been down for the count if I fell. I was CPT so if course, my seating choices had less options. I walked my overly-muscular frame over to the end where I had access to an end chair and a long bench. I sat in the chair until I felt the leg move so I got on the bench. I ordered the Bayou Rolls. I crushed them joints...straight up. This was after I ordered a Long Island with light ice. I was pissed once I got my drink because it was more ice than drink. I asked for another one. It had less ice but the drink was weak. You would have been disappointed if you had this one because a good one would sneak up and put you on your ass. The Catfish I ordered came. It was nice and hot. The Mac was cheesy. The Catfish was crispy, the collards was good but the cornbread was gar-bage'. It is delivered to you as if it just came out the oven. Ssssshhhhhhiiiiiiiitttttttt, that ain't true. Overall, the food and my experience was ok. It wasn't great but zi would give it another shot. My relative had the Lamb Chops and they look delicious. They were huge, kinda like this spot cut up a Brontosaurus in the back. I'll see yall later.

The portion of food was quite large. They mistakenly gave me collard greens when I ordered Mac and cheese as my side, but the server quickly rectified the situation. The restaurant had an amazing playlist and a very relaxed vibe. Our only confusion was that we were seated at the bar, despite there being multiple open tables. However, the hostess did alert us that we could sit at a table... after we had finished eating our food...

The food was excellent! Some of the best catfish and grits i ever had. Everything was seasoned and cooked well. I would get the catfish again. The mac and cheese was also very tasty. The service was good as well. We went during lunchtime and the music was really good. It wasnt too loud but enjoyable.

We had hurricanes that easily rivaled Pat O's in New Orleans. As for food, we started with the barbecue shrimp and fried green tomatoes with crab. Fried green tomatoes were outstanding! Barbecue shrimp weren't quite what I get when back home in New Orleans but they were good. We ordered the shrimp and grits and the smothered pork chops for our main course. Both were so good. We finished with banana pudding and peach cobbler, which was also delicious.

The only flavor in the catfish is overwhelming garlic powder. The Mac and cheese is also heavily garlic flavored. The sweet potatoes are okay. I'm disappointed overall. The portions are large but the catfish is inedible based on the amount of garlic powder used. I tried to eat it but I just can't get past it. I'm not sure if I would come back and try something else. Other people had such good reviews of this specific meal which is why I gave it a try.
