Update:Update: I am updating this post because Milk & Honey ultimately got it right and I appreciate it! My original visit was less than desirable but Em, the managing partner, took action and invited us back for a do over and we had an amazing time. Every dish was scrumptious! Plus the gumbo was more flavorful and we were served fresh ingredients and in a timely manner! Thanks to Em and the team for elevating our dining experience! That was an excellent way to respond! Original post:The atmosphere was nice but a few things were disappointing. 1. Bland gumbo. It was plain, the rice was soggy and it lacked a kick that well-made gumbo carries. Even after adding salt and pepper, I sent it back. 2. The name is Milk and Honey but real creme nor milk wasn't served with our coffee. We were brought the small flavored coffee creamers. Those creamers are filled with sugars and preservatives. Such a missed opportunity for a fresh and organic eating experience. 3. Servers really do need support. We waited so long for basic things like water, a spoon for the gumbo and the meal in general. We grew anxious during the experience considering how long we waited, and it was not due to overcrowding.I understand that the gumbo recipe was recently changed. I would encourage bringing back the original. Some classics are good as is. We left after returning the gumbo to the kitchen. Great brand, OK menu, but missed opportunity to drive home an all-around good meal and stellar dining experience.

Came here for the first time yesterday for dinner. I love supporting a black owned restaurant, esp during black history month! Pricing is very reasonable and during the weekdays it seems like there isn't much of a wait. We were able to walk right in no issues. Plenty of free parking and they even have outside seating for the warmer months. You can do private events and catering with them as well. They have an excellent location here in College Park and overall I enjoyed the service and the food was pretty good! We got the butter glazed biscuits (2) for $6, and I got the crispy catfish sandwich with fries for $16. My friend got the shrimp and grits for $25 which looked absolutely delicious. I wish I had gotten it lol. The catfish was cooked to perfection along with the bread but I wish they had an original sauce instead of just tartar sauce or ketchup. The fries left a lot to be desired in that they had no salt or seasoning on them when they arrived so that was a little disappointing. The biscuit was good, very filling. Our server and the other staff was excellent and very attentive. Overall I would go back and try the shrimp and grits, the gumbo, or the chicken and biscoff waffle next time. I definitely want to go back!

This is a thinly veiled bougie fatback cholesterol clubhouse. They fry salmon. They put booze in their French toast. Turn around if you want a zen bunny rabbit plate experience. This is a composite review. The service can vary. A couple servers have been sllllooww. Most are brilliant. Ask questions before you order. Some menu items could benefit from more descriptions and even pictures as they are unique combinations. Bear in mind that many foods combine meat and seafood. It's like all food groups on deck!Seating is limited and there are no reservations so I go on weekdays. People going on weekends could have some hiccups in service and a long wait/service time. They used to have a disclaimer in the menu that they don't focus on service. It may be gone now. Service is OK to good; food ranges from good to amazing. There's usually music playing and it can get pretty animated. I like to go outside when it's good weather. While it faces the parking lot it's quieter. I believe you have to order first inside though. I'm allergic to a lot on this menu. I'm not allergic to the Brunch Punch, hehe. That premade white liquor gentle beast falls down my throat like a liquid Starburst drank and NEEDS to be drunk with the comfort foods here. My friend loves the salmon BLT and the shrimp pasta with andouille sausage. And the honey butter biscuits! I get the fluffy scrambled eggs, cheesy hash browns (extra crispy requested), bacon and side of fresh fruit. Those are great. The bacon is crispy yet isn't special. The smoked sausage is salty for me. Salads are a more recent menu feature. Pretty good but not what most people come for. Grits are good but I like other things more. Their menu is decadent fish and seafood focused. Think Shrimp or Catfish or Salmon & Grits or salmon hash. And sweet items have included strawberry shortcake biscuits, Rumchata French toast, chicken and sweet potato waffles. Their menu has expanded again, so it's time to go back!Tip: Different area Milk and Honey restaurants feature takeout, full bar, etc. Make sure you know what each one serves. This one seems more on the full service side.

This spot is great! My husband and I were traveling though (we are from Dallas), saw the good reviews and menu and decided to stop by. The place was packed on a Friday (midday) which is ALWAYS a good sign. The vibes, food, drinks, and service did not disappoint. Our server was Chavara. She was amazing and had good recommendations. We left full and happy. If you are in the area, don't sleep on this place!

Ordered the Shrimp and grits which was delicious. However, we had to send back the undercooked fried catfish and grits. Service was pretty good and we were immediately seated. Waitress and staff were good about replacing our catfish order with another order of shrimp and grits, which was very tasty. We did have to wait longer than usual for our check. Glad we didn't take a bite of the undercooked fish and I don't think I would return to this location. Enjoy your holiday folks!

I am so heart broken. Let me start with I have been here more times than I can count and it was my favorite brunch spot. I have a pic of my favorite meal the chicken and biscuits. I ordered that today and they gave me three itty bitty wings with no seasoning on them instead of the normal chicken. Then my partner ordered the cheesecake pancakes with a side of eggs and the side of eggs were completely soupy and raw.
