What a great place for the most authentic and great Mexican food! Loved it! We couldn't decide so ordered numerous items which were all huge! Some of the best were guacamole, chicken enchiladas, beef tongue tacos, tamales!

After hearing such good things about this place and reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided it was time to give it a try. Got there about 5:45 and there were several other groups there but it wasn't crowded. A server came by pretty quickly and gave us menus and took drink orders. When they arrived, the tea had a terrible taste like it was really old and not fresh at all. I tried to order the enchilada platter which comes with 4 enchiladas. When asked if I could get 2 cheese and 2 beef, I was told no, they all had to be the same kind. I found this unreasonable and chose to not order my own food but decided to share tostadas with a member of our 3 person group. When the food came out, the tostadas were cold. The tostada shell and the meat were both cold. We ordered a side order of rice and beans and they were also disappointing. The rice was lukewarm and very bland. The beans were not beans at all but a runny liquid that appeared to be beans that had come out of a blender. The other dish of our group was chicken and peppers which was also bland with dried out and overcooked chicken. In all honesty, this dish had the taste and texture of food that had been previously cooked and then microwaved. In addition to poor quality food, the service was lacking. No one ever came by to check on us or to see how we liked the food. Finally, the prices were higher than I would have expected. A first and last visit here for me.

Delicious and authentic Mexican food at an affordable price. Food was ready quickly and tasted great. The menu is in English and Spanish and has a large variety of menu items. We will definitely be back!

tried la libertad for the first time this past weekend. we're vegan and staff was happy to help us negotiate our order. the food was AMAZING. like truly some of the best mexican food from a restaurant that i've had in decades. definitely recommend!

My wife and I tried this restaurant for lunch about a week ago when we were in Hanover on a Monday. It's located in a building that used to be an old store that sold newspapers and I'm not sure what else.To say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement.The decor is decidedly Mexican, festive with bright colors. We were served complementary chips and salsa. The salsa was a yellowish color (instead of red) which I'm not used to but it was delicious.We also ordered a cheese dip with chips, which was very good, but not my favorite... I should have ordered a spicy queso dip if they even have one? I like spicy dip, so I actually mixed the cheese dip with the salsa and it made it nice and spicy.We decided to split a fajita platter that had shrimp, chicken, and steak. I wish I had taken a picture because it looked as good as it tasted. The flavor, the texture, and the tenderness of the steak was outstanding.My wife had an unsweetened, iced tea and I had Diet Coke (I always appreciate restaurants that have Coke products!)The service, and the serving time was quite good.There are quite a few Mexican restaurants in Hanover that we have tried, but we now like this one much better than all the rest. We will be back.Try it... You'll like it!

Prompt and polite service, delicious food with large servings, and reasonable prices. I had complimentary chips and salsa (yellow/orange), and the Fajita Burrito, carnitas, with rice & RF beans (added lettuce and tomato), served with another salsa in pitcher. Everything was delicious and seemed authentic. The flavor of the carnitas was very good. I got the Tres Leches cake to go, and it was good but not great. It is an open room with tables and booths, decorated, and they also had some Halloween decor hanging in the room. Go here - you'll be happy you did!

Ok I will break the mold of the 5 star reviews. I like the place. They just had a big turn on tables so can't judge but I thought it took a little longer for our food to come out after we ordered. But I will save that for the next visit. The did a great job on the remodel. The place was cozy. I did think the menu was lengthy but they had a vast selection. I enjoyed the enchiladas but be warned the Verde sauce is HOT. Over all we enjoyed our meals and will go back.

Located in downtown town Hanover. Parking. Could be a little challenging if you don't know the area . This is a small corner location with a nice Mexican feel. Service was friendly. All the meals what I saw and including my own looked good. Flavor of all meals at the table were very good. Yes there were some minor things. But that is only if i wanted to get picky. With chains in town this place should hold its own. I like the menu service and food. I will return.

Really good!!! A very unusual yet delicious complementary chips and salsa. Not your standard salsa by any stretch. house made corn tortillas make the tacos special. Finding fresh cut fries al in a Mexican joint really elevated it. well done!
