Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge

Such an amazing dining experience! I found Metropolitan Kitchen and Lounge while looking for a spot to meet my friend who was visiting Annapolis. Their Tuesday all night happy hour immediately caught my eye so I booked a reservation. We got there a bit early and was immediately seated with a perfect view of the cute bar and wall art. The servers were so attentive and helpful, making recommendations about good items on the menu. The drinks came out very quickly and the were great! The share platters were also wonderful. I tried the eggplant caponata which was served with delicious fluffy bread. Chris, the manager, was checking on patrons and made sure everything was perfect! We couldn't have asked for a better night out thanks to the Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge.

Visited Metropolitan Kitchen and Lounge for the first time, and it was an incredible experience! The Brussels sprouts appetizer was a standout--crispy, caramelized, and packed with flavor. They were so good we were tempted to order a second plate! The lamb chop appetizer was equally impressive--perfectly seared, tender, and bursting with bold, savory goodness.For the main courses, we ordered the shrimp and grits, they were a hit. The shrimp were plump and perfectly cooked, and the creamy grits were rich. The braised short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender, with deep flavors that left us savoring every bite. The Spanish guisado stewed chicken was hearty and flavorful. Dessert was the chocolate ganache cake, decadent and delicious. Service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was lively yet comfortable. This place delivered a fantastic first-time experience. I'll definitely be back!

We came here on a Friday night. They were not too busy. We didn't have a reservation and were seated right away. Our waitress was great. She was super friendly and nice. The service time was average. The manager Chris was nice. He came by our table a couple times and asked us how we were doing and asked for feedback. It was a pretty little restaurant. However it was a little dark. Our food was good. We had the Braised Ribs. It was good. We also got two of their specials: TRUFFLE GNOCCHI CHOWDER, and FILET SLIDERS (steak filet). They were good too. Also for dessert we ordered VANILLA CREME BRULEE. It was delicious. We had a nice dinner. I recommend coming here.

Nice atmosphere. We were able to sit on the rooftop to enjoy the live band. Beware: You have to walk up maybe 4/5 flights of stairs to get there. We were greeted and seated immediately. The staff were friendly and very prompt. We had the gnocchi and scallops as appetizers. The scallops along with the grits stole the show. The flavor was amazing! They are small and you only get 3. Who can I talk to about increasing the number to 5?? the gnocchi was tasty as well. They gave you enough for that to be a main dish. For our mains we had the rockfish and beef short ribs. The fish was really good. I didn't care for the sweet potato mash. The ribs were tender. The flavor wasn't bad at all but It wasn't hitting like the flavor of the scallops. I would come back to visit just for the appetizers.

Yummy shareables, Great ambiance, happy hour Tuesday drinks and Great customer service (thanks Mylie) = a positive yelp experience. Come out and enjoy Marylands finest lagers while enjoying the rooftop. I highly recommend the Fig and goat cheese flatbread and the Birria flatbread. Thumbs up as I'm stuffing myself. Definitely a place to stop by to enjoy the night life!

Super nice spot for a rooftop meal! The truffle gnocchi was SO good. The Brussel sprouts looked great, so next time will also try those. The French dip sandwich was good, bread was slightly soggy on the but otherwise no complaints, good flavors! The potatoes stole the show though. Also happy hour is all day on Tuesday, which was lovely!

Came for brunch and left... satisfied.I have a review for a HH experience from this place from 6 years ago and I think it must of been in a hotel before? Interior looks totally different.Anyway, made a rezzie for brunch - they didn't have it but said they could still accommodate (I'd hope so, we were the only other table to walk in).Service was spotty and not very attentive - ran out of coffee for a decent stretch more than once. But, our server was nice and friendly - and when we asked for something she got it taken care of!Food was all okay, only star was the very well seasoned home fries - definitely recommend if you like big flavor. Fruit side was uninspired but very typical for breakfast, honeydew, cantaloupe, a tiny piece of pineapple and some watermelon. Eggs Benedict was solid, no complaints but not necessarily anything special - would of preferred it to come out a bit warmer.The pancakes were decent albeit a bit thin and kind of dry, came with a teeny amount of compote, a fairly dry and thick sausage patty, and the star was, again, the home fries.Nothing to write home about, but nothing bad either. Definitely on the affordable side as both our breakfasts were around 13 bucks, we'd prob try somewhere else in the area next time!

Honestly, I was quite shocked at how impressive this restaurant was. When I tell you even my parents were delighted with the food, that's a huge WIN. We went for brunch on Saturday with a reservation, and ordered the following: fig & goat cheese flatbread, brussel sprouts, burrata and breakfast tacos. I would say everything besides the tacos were absolutely delightful.My favorite was the flatbread and the brussel sprouts. I loved the flavor of the fig jam and the cheese and these have had to be some of the best cooked and seasoned sprouts I've ever had in my life. The tacos were a bit disappointing, nothing too special there. The bacon bits inside were a bit hard to chew as well. Debated between a 4 or a 5 but I gotta go with a full 5 here, and I will definitely return.

Chris the general manager was the absolute best!! He fit us in when it was packed. The food was great and service was perfect. Will be coming back

The service was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is dark but cozy. The food was excellent. They have a roof top that they open during the warmer seasons.
