Messina's Pizza & Restaurant

Sit down and take out restaurant in Stewartstown, PA. Pizza, pasta and Italian specialties. Meat tortellini was excellent . Nice sized portion. Garlic bread was adequate. Service was good. If you're in the area visiting a winery or driving through I'd recommend stopping in for food.

Local place near my Dad's house. He and I ate there today. Service was a bit slow but the food was solid. He got the fried shrimp sub which was as described. I got the sausage "boat". I guess that's PA code for sausage parmesan lol. This sub was outstanding. The roll was slightly crisp on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. Sauce, peppers, onions and sausage all expertly smothered under a layer of mozzarella. VERY good sub. I'd definitely eat here again.

It has become hit or miss. Used to be good quality. Now, you just never know. My last two pizzas were less than stellar. Last night, we ordered a large pizza, extra cheese, pepperoni, onion. Carry out. They cut through the bottom of the box so we had grease issues while driving home. The cheese was slid off one side as it was put away too hot at some point. Greasy, wet, nasty. Crust was soaked and barely cooked. This matches the last pizza we got there. Subs and dinners seem okay when ordered. Will be going elsewhere for pizza in town as we have choices.

We live really close by and it is great to have a dependable place to go to for a nice dinner out without a huge price tag.It has become our Friday night spot and I totally recommend it.I am recently from NYC so I can be a little snobby about Italian food but I must say this place hasn't let me down on any item I have sampled.Wait staff is very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Prices are good and our friends have enjoyed it when I bring it home for a get together with them.Cool place.

A lack of basic customer service. They made a huge error and while the owner apologized and did what was needed to correct their mistake (as they should) , there was no attempt to get my name or contact information and I wasn't offered any compensation for a SIGNIFICANT inconvenience, while I don't need any handouts the actual point of a coupon is to get the customer to overcome the negative experience and come back , i can't see ordering anything from them again.

We've ordered take out a few times and it is always average, never bad nor great. Convenience is why we repeat I guess. Last night's pizza was delivered at about room temperature and the taste was off. The system said it would take more than an hour to deliver, but only after we'd paid and couldn't change our minds. It came to us more quickly but still not fresh. My biggest problem was the taste. We ordered one with sausage and there was a sweet taste to it, almost like they used breakfast sausage instead of Italian sausage. Surely that's not the case, as the owner might actually be Italian and would know better. But it definitely was not fragrant with the regular pizza flavors of oregano etc.The crust is no better than a frozen pizza from the store- not much flavor, kind of tough, no leoparding from a good hot oven. I think they know better, and even though there's not a lot of competition, I want them to do better.

I/We don't complain about much. I/We have ordered from them several times. July 27 is the worst. Delevery driver put our order of pasta ala Nona on top of our pizza. The order of wings consisted of mostly drummets.

The food is just ok, it took almost two hours to get food after order. We like to support local places but there are plenty of better pizza places in area.

Pizza/sub/Italian restaurant in little shopping center. Had meatball sub that was very good. Fries basic. Guy behind the counter was personable and quick, both appreciated. They sell beer and wine with meals. You can get beer to go.

Food is decent. Won't order for delivery again since the restaurant told me the convenience fee goes to the store and not driver. Not sure why they think they need to add cost on their behalf. A separate fee is already charged for the online service.
