Seriously, don't waste your time...Nicest thing I can say. Yelp says I need 85 characters so I had to keep typing...

Day 2 of the winter performance series. We decided to go to Memos, where we met the fabulous Julee. We learned that happy hour is all night, and all of the food is made fresh. Following Julee's recommendation, hubs got the pork chops, and I got the Berry salad with avocado and onions. It was all Fabulous, and we will be back!

Memo's is a really good place to go! We wanted to get out of DC today for a little relaxing time and decided on Memo's for dinner. We are really glad we did!The food was all perfect! I started with the cup of jalapeno corn & crab chowder. The menu said it was "award winning" and I believe it!. The thickness was perfect. The flavors were perfectly balanced - a little heat from the jalapenos played very nicely against the sweetness of the corn. The broth was delicious without a hint of uncooked flour or clumps. The waiter (David L) confirmed what I got was a cup although, to me, it seemed like a whole lot more than that! It was certainly WELL WORTH the $8.00 price. I would happily order this soup again. I struggled over what to order for my main dish because almost everything sounded good to me. I finally decided on the "Best Turkey Sandwich" which is very well named. Thick piles of thinly sliced, moist turkey. Very tasty! The bread was soft but held this behemoth of a sandwich together very well. Not sure how that bread could be both soft and strong at the same time but it did it admirably. The sandwich was dressed simply with mayo and paper-thin slices of onions, tomatoes and lettuce. I was only going to eat half of the sandwich but that plan fell apart when I tasted it. PS - I ate the whole thing!The service was very good. David L served us from start to finish and he was perfect. Polite and fast. Friendly and double checked on us as needed. I asked for a small spoon and he brought me 2 small but differently sized spoons - each wrapped in a napkin. A very good waiter indeed.I think I give only 4 stars here because of the decor and ambience. There is a lack of cohesiveness to the interior. I appreciate the elegant over-the-top crystal chandeliers hanging front and back. But the rest of the ambiance is rather bland and lacking. The color palate is not modern or sophisticated. The decoration on the walls is too small and not related to the rest of the interior. The furniture seemed a little mis-matched too.Of course, you don't eat the pictures on the walls. And I don't return to a restaurant because of the beauty of its dining room. A restaurant has to deliver delicious food and have great service for me to rave and return. And what Memo's might lack in ambiance, it MORE than makes up with great food, huge servings and fantastic service with a smile.I whole heartedly recommend Memo's to you!!!

Delicious and authentic! Chicken enchiladas and birria tacos were quite good. House margarita is a deal.

Bar food with a Latin twist. Large menu. I tried the calamari- sadly rubbery; and the crunchy chicken tacos -more like tacitos.Few clients but service was good.

Very good food. Interesting menu with American, Mexican and Asian-Mexican food. This place should be packed for lunch. Nice servers. Clean, quasi nightclub interior design.

We went on a Saturday night. It was not full. There was only one women waiting tables. It took along time to take order and get food. The food was authentic Oaxaca, weird Italian dishes and American food. We had crab dip, cherry and tasty but congealed when it cooled. We would not eat here again.

Subsequent return trips to the establishment have been less satisfying. The chef's concepts are solid, but the wait staff fall short. The biggest disappointment is the price for any drink off-menu. Bullet bourbon is not top shelf liquor nor is it worth $17+ a pour. This isn't a Vegas casino. Go for the food and stick to the drink menu or have a cocktail at home beforehand but don't discount the food until you try it.

What an absolute joke of a restaurant! not only do these people barely understand or comprehend the English language, their food is disgusting and if I was you I would rather grab a premade sandwich at 7-Eleven before I walked in the front door!

Four of us went here tonight. We all ordered the Jalapeño Crab Chowder, which was really good. For mains, three of us ordered the Rockfish - a big mistake. None of us liked it. The fish on all dishes were small fillet which was overcooked and tasteless, like cardboard & straight from the freezer. I hesitate to even say it was rockfish - since it was tasted Whiting. Expensive for what you got. One person ordered the Chesapeake Carbonara, which he said was pretty good.Service was ok once waiter figured out the ordering system. Brought over water when asked by one of us, but only fill that glass & left right away. Very disappointed after reading the good reviews posted. I wouldn't come back.
