I love the Peruvian-themed mural art. It's the small touches that make the atmosphere here.
Peruvian Chicken with salad, plantains, rice and beans. Amazing!!!
Order here for quick pick up. Love the Peruvian Folkart along the walls.
PERUVIAN PARRILLADA; plenty for 2 people. Sides are large!

This is one of the easiest 5 stars I've given on yelp. Best Peruvian restaurant I've been to and maybe my favorite place to eat in the Frederick area! The Chef owner Jorge is an awesome dude that goes a step beyond and makes sure you're enjoying yourself. The food is spectacular, I've ordered different things at different times and was always impressed with the freshness of the dish and cheered up by how delicious everything was. The ambiance of the place is relaxing with Peruvian music videos playing in the background. I highly recommend this place!

This was a food truck at a winery I attended. They had multiple items available that were mostly appetizers. We had a big order, so it took some time to be prepared, but it was ready when the staff told us it would be.I had the empanada sampler and the chicken skewers. There were three different empanadas: chicken, chorizo, and beef. The texture of these were okay. I would have liked them to be crispier. The fillings were much better as I preferred the beef one the most. It was the tastiest to me. The chorizo was a little plain. The chicken skewers were the highlight here. They were tender with lots of flavor. They also came with a side in which we chose Yuca fries which were solid. There was also a green sauce and spicy aioli present. They were both alright, nothing great. I also tried the French fries and they were enjoyable with a nice crunch factor. Will I go back? Probably.

So apparently, they had a remodel , the recent reviews were mixed, so I was like, maybe it won't be so bad. I wanted something light and not so heavy, as it was hot outside. I started with empanadas. Wrong choice. Im start off by saying DO NOT get these! For $12I got two small empanadas! Chicken! The chicken was dry! Barely any stuffing!! Look at the Insides! I used the yellow garlic sauce to make it edible, and it didn't help. The house dressings didn't help. The crust was deep fried in old oil because my empanadas were kinda burned. Papa's Huacuana. It is one of my favorite Peruvian dishes. However, it wasn't as flavorful as I would except to be, like El Cuzco in Langley Park. The service could have better. It wasn't even busy. Like 2 other families at the time.I had to ask... for water refills. By the time my waitress came to check on me, it was at the end of my meal. I told her about my empanada ordeal. She said to me she'll talk to them, I'm thinking they were going to rectify or other other options. She disappeared and had nothing and no solutions. I had to ask for my check.I hope the owner reads all the negative reviews on the empanadas because they Improvement. 2 stars is being generous.

Maytag's Peruvian Cuisine is a great Peruvian restaurant off of I-270 in Frederick, MD. As you walk in, you are greeted with lively music, colorful decor and an airy atmosphere. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome.Their menu has a wide array of appetizers, entrees and sandwiches. They also have a full bar and a large selection of beers, some of which are the restaurant's brand. I chose the pulled chicken sandwich, which was delicious! The sauce had just the right balance of sweet and spicy. You will not leave this restaurant hungry because the portions are enormous. Definitely check out Mayta's if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed!

Im pretty disappointed. I ordered the "Chicharrón de Pollo//Ultra Crispy fried chicken" and what I got was sweet and sour chicken, you might as well call this place Panda Express. Watered down Peruvian food. Much better Peruvian places out there. Don't waste your time.

The food was really fresh and the flavors delicious. I had a very good salad and then the Ceviche was just delicious! The service was a bit inattentive and we spent longer waiting to order and later to pay than typical, but the food is quite good and fresh!

If you look up: Why is Peruvian food so good? Here's what you'll find: "Peruvian dishes can be so diverse, with so many ingredients to choose from, but there's one common aspect: freshness. No matter how simple, every Peruvian dish values its components' freshness."I couldn't imagine a better way to describe Mayta's other than to add that having great owners (which this place does) is the reason why good food can change your day, and man, every time I've been here it really hits the spot.

This place was so empty so we decided to go. The food was OK. The meat was chewy service was OK but the most thing that got us was the price of the food. It was way overpriced. I have never paid so much for a Lomo saltado I will never come here .Oh, and don't let me forget the soda each was six dollars SMH

We were looking at trying something new in Frederick and I've been craving peruvian food...so we came across Maytas. It's located in a shopping center, so parking is easily available. We walked in around 430 and it was pretty empty. They had a small bar and several tables, both inside and outside. I wasn't sure what to order, but figured I had yo try their chicken. We starred with drinks and also ordered causa with tuna. My husband was excited to try their beer. He started with the IPA, however, he preferred the lager. I ordered a passionfruit Mai Tai, which was pretty good. The causa came out and tasted so good. The cold mashed potatoes mixed with the tuna and special sauce was perfection. My husband really enjoyed the Lomo saltado. Their chicken was good and flavorful, especially with their dipping sauce. The chauffa rice was good, but I do prefer it at another restaurant. I also got yucca as a side, which was fresh and delicious, especially when you dip it in their spicy sauce. We wanted to try rice pudding, but they were out. I got the passionfruit cheesecake. It tasted good, but it was more of a flan consistency than actual cheesecake, which I wasn't expecting. Our server was really nice and helpful, but service seemed a bit slow overall. Took a while to get drinks and our bill. Overall, good spot in Frederick, and we would definitely go back.

Some of the best food in frederick. Our favorite is the chicken with sides - the plantains are perfect texture and flavor, chaufa is delicious. Dont forget the drinks. 10/10 recommend.
