Food and service are always great. I wish they had a full bar but beer and wine are good options as well. Cute, intimate setting.

I was hungry after flying across country and this place was nearby my hotel. It has a nice atmosphere, friendly service upon entering. Prompt service - seated and served a pitcher of water and provided a menu. I ordered lamb biryani, house salad and mango lassi (it was thick and delicious - had two of them). Food was served after a few minutes. House salad was iceberg lettuce, red onions, carrot chips- not what I expected. The lamb biryani was well spiced and meaty! I liked it!

This Indian restaurant is fantastic! The sampler plate is full of delicious flavors, and the samosas are a must-try. The staff is super friendly too. Highly recommend it for anyone craving great Indian food!

I was really looking forward to this place given the rave reviews. The service is friendly, and the dishes are served nicely, even though the place has a very casual and dated decor. That said, the Indian dishes disappointed. I had the non-veg thali. Here's what it included:- pea and potato samosa: perfect level of spice, probably medium spicy, but the fry dough on the outside was thick and not that crispy. - palak paneer: too heavy and creamy and not spicy enough - dal makhani: bland, lacking salt and smokiness and flavor - chickpea dish like Chana masala: also bland - lamb rojanjosh: I liked this one. Great flavor, tender meat- chicken tikka masala: too sweet, lacking depth and spice and seasoning - basmati rice: this was fine - naan: pretty good, lightly crispyIf I did ever return, I'd go for some of the Nepali specialties.

Maya was unfortunately less than average in terms of food quality. The chicken tikka masala was more yellow than red. I had never seen that before. The sauce was uneventful and lacked any heat whatsoever. The wait staff did not offer it, which is kind of typical of Indian restaurants. The chicken was plain, which indicated that they did not marinade it (or did for only minimal time) and/or it was previously frozen. In any case, the meal was sustenance, but not worthy of repeating.

Tried this place out in the DC area, pretty neat setup inside the restaurant, We tried a chicken biriyani, and the tandoori chicken, plus a Gobi masala with Roti. Everything was deliciously flavorful. I requested the biriyani and tandoori chicken to be spicy and it came out amazing. They do have a masala chai, but cannot be served sugar free, my colleague tried it and said it was too sweet. A decent amount of tables and simple seating nothing too fancy. The service could be quicker and has room to improvement.

First time trying Indian food and had such a great experience at Mayas. First thing to note is that there wasn't a hostess/host dedicated to seating you as you walk in the door. Be sure to flag down a waitress or waiter and ask them where to sit. The flavors were bold, the food was the perfect temperature, and the entrees come with rice. My favorite was the lamb, but the butter chicken was great too (just less savory than I anticipated). The garlic in the garlic naan is very strong, so if you are sensitive to that flavor, I would go for the plain naan instead. The star of the show was the vegetable samosas! They come with two dipping sauces and I loved both! Will definitely be back to try some more dishes!

Came here for lunch before seeing a theatre play. Decor was homey and clean, restaurant is very spacious inside, bathrooms are clean. Food was really good. The breaded cauliflower was nicely seasoned and crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside. The lamb curry had tender cubes with a delicious sauce. The dal makhani was solid. Minus a star since I felt the spice level was a little mild, and I didn't see an option to adjust it. Service was good given there was only one (very nice) server during the lunch rush, but could've been nicer with more servers. I would've liked more rice as well -- maybe I could've gotten another bowl, but I felt we didn't have enough time to ask given how busy the server was serving all the tables.Would come here again when we are in the area.

This restaurant is AMAZING. SUCH flavorful food, hands-down best Indian restaurant in Bethesda, maybe best I've ever been to. The portions are crazy good too for the price. Every dish in the veg thali tasted SO GOOD and it could feed two hungry people for the price of one. The veg momos were also fantastic; I need to know what was in the sauce. The server Christina (spelling?) was so friendly and helpful. The music was also pleasant and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. I have so many good things to say, I could just keep going. Definitely come here!!
