Mamie's Cafe with Love

Stopped here on the way home from CT to VA. We were greeted warmly and sat right away at 3 pm. This was the Saturday after Thanksgiving so the roads were full and the restaurant was busy as well. The the of us started with their homemade soups - chicken noodle, Maryland crab, and cream of crab. All three were excellent. We weren't starving so had 'appetizers' as our entrees. The seafood quesidilla was outstanding, and so were the corn fritters.Topping it off was the complimentary dessert!Mamie's will be a regular stop on this route from now on!

Stopped off for food on our roadtrip. Few mins off the I95, in a busy mall is Mamie's.A cozy casual throwback place with great comfort food.We had corn fritters (must), mussels (fresh), 1/2 1/2 soup, seafood broiled platter. Platter came with crab cake, scallops, stuffed shrimp, broiled fish, stuffed oyster.Big enough for two.We got salad and mashed potatoes as two sides, it also came with dessert.Generous portions, fresh fresh seafood. Recommended.

Cool spot. Stopped in on a Sunday midday. We were sat quickly, water and drink order taken within moments. Big menu! You could find a mix of seafood, salads, sandwiches and comfort food like roast beef, turkey etc. I had a seafood club sandwich. Part crab cake and shrimp salad. It was good, large portions and even came with a dessert. It was decent but not mind blowing. I would have preferred a spicer shrimp salad (old bay) I will gladly come back!

After 4 days on the road, we were looking for a good place to get a healthy, fresh salad. We found Mamie's, liked the idea of supporting a local restaurant and getting more handcrafted fare. Bingo! We ordered Greek and Caesar salads to go, and they hit the spot. My Greek had added shrimp, and there was a generous serving, not just a visual sprinkle. Same with my wife's chicken add-in on her Caesar. My Greek was also full of feta and olives, elements that often get scrimped elsewhere. Both salads were huge; I had my 2nd half for lunch the following day. The woman running the till was very helpful and hospitable, and if we had dined in I'm sure the service would have been great - Mamie's had a wonderful family restaurant vibe that made me comfortable away.Mamie's is located in a strip mall, and there are competing Applebees and fast food franchises around. But walk into her homey decor and sample her authentic offerings, and you'll know you made the right choice.

Without delving too deeply my mom is in the hospital, over 2 months now, and I'm missing her. Came here by recommendation from my boyfriend for some home-cooked deliciousness. Spectacular service, very quick! The bread was warm and soft. They really know how to cook their calamari- absolutely perfect, not overly chewy, with tangy marinara. Filet with crab cake was alright, filet a tad overcooked and the crab cake did have a bit of filler but for $35 with 2 sides you just can't beat it. Mash and gravy was delicious, gravy overflowing, and the green beans were nice and flavorful. Free brownie for dessert and they even packed me a pepsi to go. Most assuredly will be returning, hopefully with my mom. The ambience was delightful and the old music kept a smile on my face.

Friendly, knowledgeable and professional servers. Eccentric vibe atmosphere with a lot of navy memorabilia and Christmas and Carousel decor. Broiled Shrimp stuffed crabmeat was tasty (but not a big fan of the hollandaise style sauce though, but a matter of preference). Broiled scallops were tasty. Loved Mamie's green beans, Cole slaw and French fries. The cooked carrots were okay. Recommend this for a local spot in Aberdeen.

In town for work, this place was suggested. The place has a great atmosphere. Pretty busy too. I had the meatloaf. It was good, maybe could have used a bit more seasoning. The portion was huge!

I'm really not sure what to think of this place. There were definitely good points, but unfortunately the bad points really stuck out in this instance.Let's start with the wait times. Definitely a negative. We were seated at 5:45pm (party of 4); the food came at 6:25 and the order wasn't even complete, my daughter's food took another 15 minutes. We weren't about to eat without her, so....well, definitely not a strong point.I had the open-faced hot beef with mashed potatoes. Adult B had open-faced hot turkey with fries. My daughter had chicken Parmesan and Child B had stuffed shells. I will say that the portions are generous - maybe a little too much. I ate half of my food and still had a full, complete meal left over. My daughter couldn't even make a dent into hers. Drink refills were also quite generous.My issue with my particular dinner was that it just tasted bland. I had to add a LOT of salt and pepper to try and fix it, but....eh. The beef slices just had little to no flavor. It was kind of like chewing cardboard, if I really want to be honest. The mashed potatoes weren't much better. The gravy was pretty good, though, which helped. I tried a little of my daughter's dish and definitely was not a fan. Also quite bland, which red sauce really shouldn't be.We all took boxes home. It was just too much.We did get free dessert afterwards, which we had at home later. This is what really surprised me - the rice pudding is probably the absolute best I've ever had. I was NOT expecting that after what was pretty much a bust of a meal. Also, they charged an extra 5 on top of the meal for "credit card processing". Okay, if you're going to do that, please post that somewhere so folks know. We'd have brought cash if we knew that, and it came as a rather unpleasant surprise. So, would I come back? I'm not sure. I loved that rice pudding, absolutely. But I suspect we're going to give our leftover boxes to the dog, to be honest. They're not an appetizing prospect at this point.Maybe one more visit with a different dish. Not in a rush to experience it, though.

Fun decor, nice wait staff and HUGE portions. The prices seemed a bit high at first, but the portion size with the free dessert...and the fact that the food was like home cooked meals, made the price worth it.I don't know if the staff was all working together or not but we had three people coming and asking for portions of our order, so it was a little confusing but can you really have overkill customer service?

Huge portions! Food was average. Service was very nice & friendly. Lots to look at on the walls.
