Yes! THIS is what a local brewery/restaurant should be! We had a large crowd there last night and it went perfectly! Here are the highlights:- super SUPER friendly owner - set us up personally with a multi-table arrangement and wouldn't even let us help! Fantastic.- great beers! Seriously - there were 6 beers I tasted and every one was great!- nice environment - cozy yet spacious. Really feels like a friendly, local bar. - food was actually very good! Not a criteria for a brewery, but they did it anyway! Amazing. Can't say anything bad at all about this place. We'll be back. G'day!

I really enjoy the variety of beers at M8. they have some unique Australian-inspired beers. They also have seltzer, wine, and non-alcoholic options as well. I tried their brussels sprouts ($9), which are flash fried and topped with pickled onions. It was sweet from the honey and had good flavor, but it was drenched in oil which made the brussels sprouts, lose their crispiness. The service was good. You order your drinks and food at the bar and they'll bring the food to you. I did notice that a lot of the beers on tap had a lot of foam coming out. I tried their homemade seltzer, which you can add a flavor to. My favorite was the mango seltzer. They also have a private parking lot under the bridge across the street and they are dog friendly!

Really Really good Australian style beers here! The kind that goes down easy, and you can easily drink too much of.I quickly got in the mood to box a kangaroo All the food is basic and delicious, reasonably priced, and comes out fast!!

M8 surprised me in a good way. The venue has 2 levels, and parking across the street, under the expressway. Didn't get to the 2nd floor because I was having too much fun on the first floor. The beer is on another level here at M8. It was exceptional. I cam say of the many beers and experiences I have had in Baltimore, this was one if the best. M8 has superior beer in a humble package. There is food here as well, and I didn't have any, but my cousin whi was with me said the chicken parm sandwich was awesome. The BEER:Czech Mate... Czech pils 5.4% ABV... s7ch a smooth, well balanced pilsner, quite impressed by the delicate delishesness of this well crafted beerSlim Dysty... Hazy IPA 5.8% ABV... not my favorite flavor profile for a hazy, but with that being said, this is an all day crushable IPADecimator... doppelbock 8.1% ABV... well made, clean flavors in this exceptional doppelbock. This is deceptively smooth for a high ABV beer. So very good.Hammerhead hefeweizen 4.9% ABV... perfectly brewed hefe more clove than banana with a slight hint of lemonBaltimore is known for great craft beer and M8 is not the exception, but the rule. There are some great things happening here and if you are near M&T stadium in Baltimore and you love craft beer, this should be high on your list. Exceptional beer here.

On the site of the old Checkerspot location is a brand new cleverly baked Australian themed brewery called M8. My wife and I are obsessed with all things Australia and hope to go there and love koalas so this place is perfect. The beer was great as were the meat pies and rolls. The ambiance is very cool with plenty of space to hang out before a game. The service is also very friendly and we got a Maryland flag map of Australia shirt too.

Beer was pretty solid; nothing blew me away. But the food...bruh. The food here is phenomenal. We wanted the curry pie, but it had sold out. So I went for a burger, not expecting too much. That thing was juicy, flavorful, and the main reason they'd see me again.

Orioles game today (1530), but the service was still good. Had the sausage roll and it was okay. Not fantastic, but hit the spot. Fluffy pastry.

quite literally stumbled upon this place leaving another brewery (the one that used to occupy the space). So we decided to pop in and try a few things.I do have to laugh at myself a bit since I didnt realize M8 was pronounced "Mate" but once I knew that everything else made sense. They are brand new and still getting settled in so there isnt much personality in the space but that doesnt detract from the beer. I tried the Amber Lager and the Hefeweizen both light and refreshing and makes me want to try more. So i'll be back to get a full flight and share even more about the beer.

Potential, this place definitely has potential. However, right now, they're just starting out and a lot of things have to happen before they reach success.First, they only have 2 M8 beers on tap, and I didn't enjoy either of them. But I am sure once they have more variety, there will be an option I like.Second, there's no personality inside. I'm still reminded of Checkerspot, but with all the Checkerspot vibe missing. M8 needs to put their stamp on the venue ASAP.Service was good, the employees were friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. And I dig the signage outside.Overall, I know this place is gonna be great. Looking forward to updating this review.

loved Checkerspot when they were in this location-love Checkerspot's new location-and loved discovering there would be no gapping void in the area as a result of the move-a fantastic story in which opportunity struck & these brewers were able to achieve a lifelong dream for their own digs! even more fantastic, as an IPA lover, these brewers specialized in NZ hops :)converting the space is going to be a process, while they have a lot of things going for them in the way of already set up brewery needs, they clearly have a big journey renovating & redecorating- but don't let the lack of instant brewery looks discourage- they were already bringing so much personality & community the bartenders/brewers hanging around the bar were friendly & knowledgeable, welcoming to share their story, offering samples, and discussing upcoming eventsamped to see how they continue to develop, can't wait to continue drinking good'beer mate- (I do suggest making happy hour for more average prices)both IPAs we tried (Fraser Island Pacific & Kangaroo Hops) I'd give 4 stars for crisp hops, danky & juicy balanced flavor profiles
