Let me start out by saying that I have never eaten at Kyoto, but I tried to do so.My lady friend and I went to this restaurant because it had received a good review on Yelp, plus we had a coupon, so we figured to give it a shot. When we arrived, we were greeted by the sweet smell of hibachi grilling and the screeching sound of a kajillion kids. If my friend Laura was here, we would probably be awaiting her trial on 12 separate charges of manslaughter. We were informed that it was a group outing for a series of little league baseball teams. When we were told, along with all of the other people waiting that a table was being cleaned off, I figured that we were going to be ok. I was wrong. Now granted, it is already 8:30 when we are being seated. So we sit down and wait...and wait...At about 9, someone comes over to take our drink order. At 9:15, we left, never having received our soda and tea. Luckily for us, as we were walking out of the restaurant, the manager said, "Thank you, have a good night."Now, I know they were busy and maybe they weren't expecting so many kids, but 45 minutes and no drinks, unacceptable. We left and went to the Bob Evans in the same complex. Sure it wasn't hibachi, but at least we were done eating by 10. I wonder if the people at our old table had even had their orders taken by then!

Went here a few times and always enjoyed the food--the staff is generally good and quick. The fun part is the food preparation! Great prices for good food.

I love Kyoto's! I love their fried rice and sushi. Ask for Tony to make you sushi and Mr. Sing if you want a fun hibachi show.

It's now called "Tony", which the waitress explained was because the new owners didn't want to pay for a new sign, so they re-arranged the letters in "Kyoto"! Funny, Tony doesn't really sound Japanese to me (and what about the 'N'?).Anyway, of the 2 (!) hibachi places in Eldersburg, Tony is far better than Osaka. No one goes here so there is never a wait. It is much bigger than Osaka. The food is better and faster. Osaka probably does win on ambiance just because it is more crowded. Neither place has as entertaining chefs as, say, Nichi Bei Kei in Columbia. Not much to say about the food, it is pretty standard hibachi fare. They also have a large sushi menu but I don't eat sushi so can't comment.
