Absolute best African Restaurant in the DMV!I've ordered everything on the menu (Thanks to the lockdown ), and I can testify they're all legit tasty! The Peppersoup is Spicy and Flavorful, loved the rice stew (Ayamase), and the Meatpie tastes so Authentic!I recommend this restaurant to anyone skeptical of African restaurants (I was ), and I guarantee you'll love their food. The owners are also very professional and courteous to customers.Highly Recommended !!!

The food was nasty. I was disappointed and will never go back, the lady behind the counter (short with bald hair style) was rude and they didn't have half of the food on the menu.

As a lover of food, I routinely try new restaurants. Living in the DMV is great because we have a multitude of established and new spots opening all the time. Today my sister, daughter and I decided to try the Kof cafe. As much as I hate to report it was less than acceptable. The food was old, dried, and simply not good. They did not have half of the menu. It was just not a good experience. Let us not talk about the flies. Sigh

Minus the long wait and inconsistent pickup times. The food is really good & not very greasy like other African restaurants. I've ordered food to go on multiple occasions and it's been tasty and fresh every time. Just make sure to add an extra 30 minutes to whatever time they tell you to pickup.

Could not even get past the bad attitude of the woman attendant who wouldn't even part her lips to say hello after we greeted her. Just held her ground and her pen waiting for an order. So we responded to her nonverbal request and walked out. Crazy!!!

Came into Kof on a random night and felt like I was in Lekki! Wonderful food (I had Suya) and drink. They had a live band who did an awesome job entertaining the guests. I read the other reviews here and the complaints seem to be more cultural than anything.

I have been coming this restaurant since it opened and I have not been disappointed! I have also hosted events - receptions, birthdays; and the restaurant has been excellent. The food is great, service is great and very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant. Try the Fish and plantain, you will not regret it.

Ehhh I wanted to support a new business so I bought a few things. The side order of beef was advertised as $3.25 on their website menu and the menu in house but the woman insisted it was $5. I didn't challenge it but thought in my head that it would be my first and last time patronizing them. Then I get home and find out it was an even bigger waste than I could have predicted. The meat was TOOOOOO TOUGH and there were only 3 pieces. I'm even being generous with the second star. I hate having to do this but I'm super disappointed and would hate for anyone else to waste their time and money.

KOF is a gem with all the makings for becoming the number one local hotspot for global foodies and lovers of African and, specifically, Nigerian food and culture. Live music and DJs on the weekends, made to order dishes and an atmosphere of relaxation after a long day is what you will find here. One of my favorite dishes on the menu is the whole roasted fish with plantain. Yum, yum, yum! They have a great diverse menu and growing list of wine and beer offerings. We tried a new Moscato by Menage a Trois that is an alternative for those who don't want a Moscato wine that's too sweet. We had a great discussion with the general manager, Antonio. He has great plans on the horizon for KOF patrons and I can't wait to see what's next.
