Had a great time dining at the DC location!! The frozen peach Dusse is unmatched in flavor and strength. The decor is aesthetically pleasing and perfect for any occasion. The service was great and very attentive! Great recommendations of the jerk lamb chops and fried green tomatoes!!

Absolutely delicious! Terrible service though. Very Houston in design. This is a place of class, business lunches/dinners, and black culture. I liked the music. Black restaurants: this is NOT the time to play with how you treat people you service in the service industry especially your own people who help keep you in business. This is the time for you to hire proper staff and bring your proper self to work/serve well.The Mac & cheese could've been cheesier and more flavorful BUT it was great and better than most restaurants. The lamb was THE BEST. The bomb dot com perfection. The yams were great. The waitress forgot a lot, messed up my guests order, and took forever bringing solutions to the table. When she did come, the lackadaisical tone and attitude in her voice and demeanor were unacceptable, unprofessional for no fault but her own. No accountability or awareness of her position as waitress.I will return here for another try at service as I aim to support black and the food was undeniably great. Go, enjoy

Service was not good. The restaurant was extremely loud with music playing. The Food prices were extremely high for the quality & quantity of the food you received. Also unfortunately the Cocktails were cheaply made and tasted like it. Very disappointing.

My Wife and I went here for Valentine's Day dinner (on Saturday) and it was a pretty good experience. We were sat promptly downstairs, it was really cute! The dj was on point and the hosts/managers checked in with the guests throughout the evening which was appreciated. We love the decor and all the black art!! Food: We shared the dream eggs for an appetizer and they were pretty good. I had the Kajun Kreme Pasta which was pretty good. The breading for the fried crab leg was a bit salty. My wife had the Short Ribs with mashed potatoes and broccoli....MID! The potatoes were most definitely out of a box and the gravy was made from one if those packets that you just add water to.. The short rib itself was flavorful and tender but a little dry. The wife was not impressed with her meal. Service: Our server was pretty cool (didn't catch her name) we saw that she was handling several tables and she continued to check in with us and make sure we didn't need anything. She also re made my wife's drink when she was unsatisfied with it. She was pretty cool. The only thing I did not careful was once I paid I was not giving an itemized receipt. After my payment went through she is just walking away from the table. Wasn't feeling that. We would like to give this place another try, maybe during the brunch Saturdays or sundays. The reviews and tiktok videos I have seen spoke highly of the brunch so maybe we should just give brunch a try. Overall 4/5.

Heard many good things about this restaurant so we decided to give it a try. We had reservations for 9:30, arrived at about 9:15 but weren't seated till about 9:40. We were seated and our waiter came to take our drink orders. He offered great suggestions and we went with the deviled eggs and egg rolls. For entrees we did chicken and waffles, fried chicken with Mac and cheese and yams and fried fish with fries. All were super delicious. The atmosphere was upbeat and had really good music. I would def visit again.

I was pulling for this place based on the mixed reviews. I came a bit early and sat at the bar. The bartender was quite attentive and welcoming. Upon entry the ambiance was good. Flowers, portraits, and good places to take photos. They did have someone taking and selling photographs if you want. Never seen that but a nice touch.Food.Overall the food was good. I had the fried catfish and I had to order sides?? Not good at this price point. The collard greens were juicy and full of flavor. The dream eggs were flavorful. I'd get them again even though I'm not a huge egg person. Others had the short ribs, mac and cheese, blackened fish with grits. All said their entrees were very good. Service.It started very good but as more people came in we were forgotten. They need one more person. Most items seem to have an inflated price. $20 drinks. The hidden 20% mandatory service charge on all checks was interesting. It was explained to us that none of that went to staff. So having to tip an extra 20% on top of a 20% service charge just sounds ridiculous. If you go just be ready for the markup.

Kitchen + Kocktails is a great dining experience! Came here for my office's holiday dinner and had a wonderful time.For my entree, I got the Chicken Fried Chicken - a tasty chicken cutlet with spicy gravy, onions, peppers, on a bed of mashed potatoes. Large portions and very filling. It was a great balance and paired well with my Blackberry Margarita. All drinks came with such a beautiful and fun presentation!The service was a bit slow with there being large crowds the day we visited. I appreciate the staff's attention to detail and flexibility with all of our table's requests.

I finally tried this spot and the food was delishish. My drink was fabulous. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and food came out in a timely manner. It has a festive vibe and I would definitely go back. Parking is horrible and for reason, my friend and I scanned the same qr code but got different menus. Not sure what that was about. Definitely recommend it.

Paige was my server and she was absolutely amazing I would rate her service 10/10. I ordered the salmon bites as an appetizer and they were seasoned to perfection, although it tasted like the pink salmon in the can it was a 7/10. The Vegan bowl was the only disappointing part of the experience. I ordered it with Salmon and luckily I added the salmon because the vegetables were a 0/10. As a vegetable lover I was extremely sad, I had been craving some vegetables since I'm visiting from California and hadn't really sat down to eat real food. The establishment was really nice and aesthetically pleasing. The music was at the right volume that I could hear my guest but not overpower the conversation. Overall I would definitely come back but I would stay away from the vegetables. Also, the drinks were amazing. No comments there.

Food was good I only had appetizers and drinks. Salmon bites were tasty but a little dry. The trinity egg rolls greens, sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese all in an egg roll were different but good different. I had the frozen D'usse it was good but could have had more liquor in it considering the size and the price. They offer an extra shot but of course for a nominal fee. Others in my party had entrees lamb chops, fried lobster tail (it was a little salty but very good and I don't like lobster), catfish, greens, mac and cheese, they all enjoyed their food. Keep in mind everything is a la cart. Restrooms were nice with the exception of really light running water. Barely enough to wash your hands. Sinks just trickled water. 3 stars because price was high, everything is a la cart, light on liquor (my opinion), dry salmon bites, and saltiness of the fried lobster tail. And restrooms. Service was great, atmosphere was beautiful.
