TERRIBLE FOOD. EVERYTHING IS BLAND AND NO FLAVOR. The taste of the chitterlings was disgusting. The food was not cleaned thoroughly and tasted undercooked. Please refrain from eating from this location. Cooking is not something these individuals can do at all. $40 has gone down the drain. The greens were lacking seasoning. Mac and cheese was terrible. I am in awe of the terrible experience I had. Despite my dislike for giving negative reviews, I had to do it because it was that bad.

It's getting closer for us to leave so it was time we had our favorite breakfast sandwich, scrapple egg and cheese. I did a search in Door Dash and I found Kimmys soul food. The grits are good, but I thought it came with cheese since the option said it would be more for EXTRA cheese. But either way they are good. I got the pancakes, eggs and bacon for the nephew. A turkey bacon and egg sandwich for my niece. And fried potatoes, grits and two scrabble egg and cheese sandwiches for my sister and myself. Everythjng is good but the scrapple taste old. It's not pillowy in the middle like we are used to to. It's a decent sandwich, just wish the slices was just a little thicker for the price and we did opt to get extra scrapple in each sandwich.

A friend recommended I try their breakfast, so we ordered it.... NEVER AGAIN! Although the portion was large, it sent me to the bathroom IMMEDIATELY! Do not eat from here unless you want to run to the bathroom and explode. Maybe the grease was old or the chef didn't wash their hands... either way it's a huge disappointment!

On a quick day trip to Baltimore with family and my aunt decided to check out Kimmy's Soul Food for dinner before we all hit the road. I ordered the 2 piece lake trout with fries for $14.99. It definitely surprised me who was working behind the counter and the back. IYKYK . But it was sooo good and good portions too that I have to take some back lol

GOOD: front desk employee was very kind, prepackaged cake was delish, cheesesteak sub, not badBAD: Buffet bar - too many things looked inedible ( meats floating in two inches of water or jelly is not appetizing)I wanted to try this place and love it as it is popular. I thought the buffet (7.99/lb) + a made to order area was great(old school DC pre pandemic). Sadly, the buffet is a big pass. Over half the dishes floating in well over 2 inches of fluid (water or jelly). Maybe that is the proper prep, but it looks swampy. I grabbed two items that didnt need life preservers - mac n cheese and spicy wings. Both werent bad but not a repeat. The wings were soft, not deep fried.To shake it up, I got a cheesesteak sub. For the price (8+) it was very small (less than 10" probably 8. The flavor wasn't bad but the roll was soft and generic (cheap bread always hurts a good sandwich.To be fair, I didnt try the most popular items (fried fish and fries) I just wasnt in that mood. My advice, go STRAIGHT to the counter for something made to order.

Their food is good, but the owner or whoever works to register is overcharging people. I've literally been there about four times and every time I've visited my order total was two dollars more than the last time and I have gotten the same amount of food every time.
