Blocking off parking spaces. Not for customers. Not sure if the goal here, except to drive away what could have been a huge sales day.
Kay's Diner V
Nice lunch bar choices.
Mac&cheese, collards, roast chicken, and salisbury steak with thick gravy
The front of the diner.
Imported corned beef and swiss cheese and DAMN is this thing good!
BLT loaded with bacon
Right when you walk in the diner. The man in the yellow is half of the restaurant owner. His wife in the red is the other half.
When you're standing in line, looking to the left. That's the dining room.
Partway through my eggs and toast and bacon! It's quite good for a casual Saturday am diner.
The Cheese Steak Sub with Fries. I took a large bite off the sub, just fyi.

We had misgivings upon approaching Kay's as it is set in an unprepossessing strip mall - and buried within an industrial park at that. We stumbled upon it after finding our usual diner - Frank's - was permanently closed (bye-bye chicken fried steak, table-side juke boxes, cheerful waitresses). Although appearances were not necessarily deceiving, the food was surprisingly good, generously proportioned, and reasonably priced. They have a number of typical diner sandwiches available, and unusually, korean-inspired fare like bulgogi beef bowls (yes, I know, a surprising menu for this kind of place; the proprietors were 2 no-nonsense Korean ummas who worked swiftly and briskly); and a buffet with a number of offerings from mac and cheese to sesame chicken (you take as much as you want, whatever you want, and they weigh the loaded plate for pricing). My daughters had BLTs (loaded with bacon) and chicken quesadillas (also loaded with chicken); my wife had a big veggie wrap (yes, loaded with fresh avocado); and I chose some mac&cheese, collard greens, salisbury steak, and a roasted chicken thigh (alas, no chix-fried steak). It wasn't bad, tasted pretty good, and was ultimately satisfying (in s guilty way, like when you know you shouldn't but you do anyway - and enjoy it!)

Disclaimer: The owners of this business are friends with my parents. I don't know them but they apparently know me through my parents. So I will not base this review on their service to me but rather a little bit on their service to the other customers I've witnessed on.This place can be a bit hard to find because it's located right in the middle of an office/warehouse park and the park is big. But if you have a cell phone that has google maps or a GPS installed on it, then you should be golden! When I came here yesterday, it was pretty busy. You can order through their buffet line on the right side of the building or you can also order through their menu. The buffet line isn't actually a "buffet", but is more a "Each pound you pay a certain amount of money". I don't remember the prices but it's not bad.Like I said above, they treated me like royalty. But witnessing their treatment towards others, I feel like they have a natural and genuine attitude towards all of their customers.I was hungry and I ordered for my brother and his co-workers. Got 2 cheese steak subs, 2 Korean steak subs, 1 fish platter, 1 shrimp platter, and a club sandwich.Around 10 minutes later, I got the food. Smelled so good.... Oh and I also got a brownie that was sitting out front on their counter.I went to my brother's work and tried out their food. I personally had a cheese steak with fries and a part of the brownie. The cheese steak was DELICIOUS. Their toppings are similar or even the same as the other places selling cheese steaks, but their bread? It's different. Not really the taste but the texture is. It holds all the juicy toppings really well and it had a bit of a chewy texture which I love. The fries were alright. The brownie was not good. I've recently been to the Great Harvest Bread company and had the brownies there, so maybe I've been spoiled by their greatness and thought the brownie here, Kay's Diner was mediocre at best.Service was great. They're a Korean owned family business. Very humble and kind couple.Note: Their English is limited.

It's next to MD JRS volleyball facility, nothing special but good service, no nonsense prices, and decent salads, sandwiches, drinks for the price. I had the turkey/ham club w/fries, which was very inexpensive, but a solid lunch time sandwich. Recommended if you are stuck at your kids volleyball tournament for the day.

MY INITIAL IMPRESSION OF THR PLACE WAS PRETTY AVERAGE. After ordering and eating my meal.. which was decent for a industrial area diner... I went back for a bottled beverage.. There was only one person behind the counter. and she was on the grill. After she finished prepper another persons food order.. she came to the register to cash out my beverage.. Handled my money with her bare hands . bagged it woth her bare hands.. gave me change with her bare hands. Then IMMEDIETLY went to prepping another meal with out washing her hands or even putting on gloves.. When she saw noticed me looking at her with a grimace on my face. She put on one glove. A Single glove. but was still handling food with bother dirty hands..

This is a fairly large place tucked away in the industrial park. We only saw it as we were going to the Autobahn Cart Racetrack. It has a 20 to 25 choice hot bar at lunch (5.99/lb) and a fruit bar too (3.99/lb). Everything was good, and just $20 for two of us.

This place is only worth going to if you happen to be at the sporting facility next-door. It's generally run down and appears unclean. To see one of the people behind the register go out to push down the trash and then come back and wipe off trays without washing his hands says it all. You would be better off running out to a nearby fast food place.

Happened onto this place while I was out. Was glad to see it. Food is pretty good and a great price. Wide selection for breakfast and lunch. Quick and easy. They even have fruit and what looks like a self serve bar for lunch (I was there for breakfast on the weekend). Fair amount of seating and like a said a pretty decent menu of choices. Eat in or take out. Service was good and the place was clean. Not a typical restaurant but a true diner to get yourself something to eat at a good price. Portions are good and I couldn't even really finish it all.

The people who run the place are truly wonderful and nice! The food is made very fast and i've had many things from there and have liked every single one! Its super cheap as well! if you're looking for gourmet food this isn't the place. If you're looking for just a quick meal for a cheap price, then this is a perfect place. Don't underestimate the appearance of it!

Visiting the area for a volleyball tournament. Parents must wait in cars. When I pulled up I thought how nice that there is a little shop next door in case someone wants to get something. But the owners literally do not want the business. He has blocked off several parking spots--not for his customers, but just to keep them blocked off. And he told a family standing on the sidewalk to move along. I will drive to a convenience store or other restaurant before I would spend my money somewhere that doesn't want customers.

Unfortunately, I had the experience of eating at this establishment. After falling into the fact someone else in our group recommended we give it a shot, I looked to Google and saw it was at 3.5 stars...this concerned me however, even though they still wanted to try it, we did. After stepping through the doors, it was apparent to me that my initial concerns were true. The buffett to my right looked random as ever and disgusting to say the least. Employees were eating on the line with one glove on, handling other peoples food, cash, trash, etc. Half of the fountain drink station was out of order due to whatever reasons. As I take all of this in and review their very expansive menu, I was trying to select something that could be the safest option to which I truly did not want to eat anything from this place, but had to eat as I was hungry. I thought, you cannot really mess up teriyaki chicken, rice and broccoli so, thats what I went with. After I got my food, I suppose it looked okay however, what else is it supposed to look like from the expectations I had to begin with. It was until my fourth or fifth bite from the chicken that I noticed there was something abnormal in my dish. At first, I thought it may have been a fly which is disgusting however, after further examination, it was a small cockroach within the sauce of my chicken. Obviously, my gut instinct about this place panned out...to say the least, I was disgusted by the entire experience. After bringing this to the attention of the cashier, whom I believe is the owner, I told her I wanted my money back and that this was unacceptable. She proceeded to apologize and mention that they may have an issue over near their buffett station and proceeded to walk in that direction and pick up the tray of teryaki chicken...it was at the point that I said that I did not get from the buffett and that you were supposed to make this to order and she put the tray she was holding back in the buffet. It is apparent, this Diner has some issues that they are aware of and do not seem to correct. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
