Katana Japanese Cuisine

For the first time, I drove well out of my way to lunch at Katana. Past visits have been based on driving by and convenience. It's worth it.Food: After listening to daily special offerings presented by our server, we decided to ask for a meal based on their inspiration and inventory. To some diners this may seem risky. It normally would be. However, I've enough top-notch experience at Katana to feel confident in them. It was a wise choice and consequently may never return to menu ordering here again. Presentation was exquisite in detail and each plated piece was a work of art. Imagine, if you will, being served a multilayered tray of jewels at Tiffany & Co. As my guest exclaimed "It's too pretty to eat." So, I've included a photo for readers to enjoy.We loved each piece served and the entire range was pleasingly expansive. For example, savoring nuanced differences in blowtorched salmon vs toro. We appreciated authentic ingredients (e.g. crab) vs. imitation.Service: Attentive, prompt, professional, friendly: are words I'd use to describe service. It seemed the workers enjoyed working here and took pleasure in ensuring we were comfortable and satisfied. Thank you.Ambiance: Starting at 12:30 PM on a weekday - we sat for two hours talking. We were never pressured to leave. We had leftovers! It was quiet enough to have a civilized conversation and private enough to talk about, well, anything. Besides being family friendly - I'd recommend this place as a reliable and convenient place for business meetings. Very close to Rt 108 and Rt 32 with lots of free parking.Total price for lunch that included a special appetizer, and green tea was about $90.00. To some that may seem pricey, yet for me the prices seemed fine given we occupied uninterrupted space for a two-hour meeting with great service and food in a friendly atmosphere. Like I said - worth it!

My first time visiting this neighborhood staple and cozy Japanese restaurant that serves an extensive menu of sushi and hibachi selections. The emphasis is on fresh ingredients and a friendly atmosphere.They lived up to this. Our server was very familiar with the menu and ingredients. This was helpful for 2 in our party who were gluten free. He was friendly and accommodated separate checks for our party of 10 people.Food:Was enjoyed by the majority of our group. The dishes we chose came out as they were prepared so whatever needed to be hot was served hot.The sushi,I would say, is the hallmark of their menu. Made as ordered and given a hearty appreciation by those who had gluten free limitations. Other special requests were happily accommodated.The only thing I can attest to, since I ordered it...a wish for a lighter batter to be used for their tempura. I know what I order will have been deep fried but when the batter is thick, it becomes heavy and greasier from the oil it was cooked in. There were plentiful amounts of shrimp with sliced vegetables, I had leftovers to bring home.We enjoyed our gathering. The space is small with dark wood accents but kept clean and quiet enough to carry non-competing conversations with our group. The prices were pretty reasonable and the food was enjoyed, especially those who had diet restrictions. I will probably return when I have a craving for sushi and Japanese food. But with my husband or a smaller more intimate grouping.

We've been getting take out the times we've ordered food from here. So we don't have any comment regarding the ambiance of the restaurant. We really like the Thai food. Recently, we ordered the panang curry as well as the pad kee mao. Both were delicious. They also offer sushi, which we will need to try! The curry comes with a side of rice. Very friendly staff. And there is plenty of parking at the site. Delicious food - thank you!

We can here to celebrate a birthday and as always really enjoyed the atmosphere and how friendly everyone is. As it was a celebration we let the birthday person order whatever they wanted which meant lots of sushi for the whole table! I ordered a separate plate of the sashimi delis what was amazing and included 16 pieces of raw fish. I would definitely order it again in a heartbeat. The sushi was very good and they many speciality rolls to chose from. I highly recommend this for great sushi and nice atmosphere.

Today is Juneteenth. They don't count as a holiday. We can still get lunchbox for lunch.The food was great. I love the their soup and salad. The staff are nice and friendly. The place is so tight and small. They take you picture of you and birthday and anniversary and hang them up against wall.

For many years I have been here, I am mostly here for the sushi and the still do not disappoint. The ambiance is quiet and very welcoming with friendly photos taken and posted on the wall. The service here is also good and very friendly.

The best sushi/rolls I have ever had. The staff is always top notch, attentive, and friendly. Highly recommend!

This place is busy but there is a good reason for it. Service was prompt. Food taste and presentation was fantastic, and prices were quite reasonable. Now parking is another issue and it can be challenging at times.

Let me tell you about this place, it is 10/10 EVERY TIME. I go at least once a week sometimes twice. Talk about fast service? Quick! Talk about amazing well cooked food. They have it. Everytime I go they are constantly making sure things are clean and in order. If I could rate this place a 100000 I would. The staff? Friendly as if they are your family. I love this place and for the price, can't beat it.

Services outstanding. Went there for my son's 21st bday. He requested for sushi boat. Food fresh and interesting
