A wonderful intimate atmosphere with very good food. Customer service was excellent! Ordered the following:Octopus salad: Pass, didn't like taste or texture, I'm not the target audiencePan fried dumplings: 6.5/10 decent, wish it had more peanut sauce Takoyaki: 9.5/10 amazing. Very flavorful and wish there was more. Chicken Katsu Curry: 8/10 good but wish the curry was slightly heavier with flavor. Chicken fried beautifully. Shoyu ramen: 9/10 amazing broth and completes the dishKissin pink(soju sangria): surprisingly very goodTonjaku: 10/10 Try at home, shot overpriced, strong semi Smokey flavor Very quant atmosphere. The tented table is very nice Bathroom Cleanliness: 9 very clean, smelt good, I wish they had paper towels

Price is on the higher side, but you're not going to find many Japanese style curry around the area.Food is very flavorful. Rice is cooked just right. The dishes are well-plated , even for carryout orders. When dining in, it's a pretty chill atmosphere.

This is the cutest spot to eat. They have an open eating area, a small bar, and curtain-enclosed booths if you want a little more privacy. Very casual/chill vibes - you are seated and served fairly quickly. Feels like someone invited you over for lunch/dinner.We tried most menu items - here's what we thought:Chicken Karaage - 8/10 Seasoned perfectly. I didn't expect to be fried as hard as it was but it was good. Came with mayo and spices but I think a better dipping sauce would've made it perfect. Ika Geso - 8/10 [according to my partner] Same batter as karaage and served the same wayMiso Eggplants - 8/10 Excellent flavor, cooked to perfection. The eggplant is a little seedy so if you're texture sensitive this may be a sensory issue. If it weren't for the many seeds it would have been a 20/10.Hamburger Steak Appetizer - 7/10 Meat seasoned well and the sauce was quite tasty - the combination was just interesting. Tastes completely different from how it appears. The accompaniments can be skipped though. Chicken Katsu Curry - 100/10 The chicken was cooked to perfection! The curry is delicious - reminiscent of a Jamaican curry/cock soup flavoring.Shrimp Katsu Curry - 10/10 [according to my partner] She said if the accompaniments could have been substituted for more rice and/or egg, it would've been perfect. Osinko - 9/10 Standard pickled vegetables. They were more crisp than I'm used to but good nonetheless. We also split a bottle of grapefruit soju that was delicious. Next time we'll be sure to save room for dessert. I think it's a great spot to visit for adventurous eaters.

Got the chicken Katsu lots of chicken in the dish and with plenty of curry. I liked that the curry was served on the side and you could control how much you wanted on or take it to go. Establishment was clean and cozy vibes.

Experience overall was great! Loved the interior, very modern and simple. The booths are pretty big with some small curtains between that help with privacy. The booths could use some pillows or cushions to either sit on or out between your back and the wall. Food was good and came out pretty quickly. They give a great amount of curry in the jar on the side so you can use it or pour it however you like. I do wish the dish came with some veggie or cabbage but there's an option to add on for additional charge. There were only two servers when we were there. They were pretty attentive when we needed anything.Overall, good food, nice interior. Worth returning to when I'm craving some curry or other Japanese food.

Taste:The food is very well made here. Enough so that I came back twice in a month. The unagi kamameshi is fantastic. Crispy rice at the bottom of the bowl, well flavored, and the eel is cooked perfectly (light sauce, great flavor, soft and tender). I got this both times. 5 stars for this dish. The miso eggplant was very nice. Grilled, warm, and hearty with a bit of a sweet sauce on top.The hamachi kama and saba shioyaki are both grilled fish and they are cooked nicely. The radish was also nice, but the fish needed an extra bit of flavor (I added soy sauce for both). The curry was ok. I think it's probably pretty good for this kind of curry but I realize it's not for me.Service:I think they keep forgetting to bring out parts of the dishes and you need to be aware of what is supposed to be included and specifically ask for it?The hamachi kama is supposed to come with ponzu sauce... we never got it. When we got the saba shioyaki PLATE, it said it comes with salad. Every plate has a tiny bowl of a few pickled veggies and I was like um ok that's not really a salad but ok... then I saw some other reviews and I learned that there actually is supposed to be a separate salad.Ambiance:I like the booths with the curtains and wrap around seating. It's a cool look and fun to sit there. The vibe of the restaurant is both homey and modern.Overall, I do like this place but I think there is room for some improvement on making sure all of the items come out.

Overall, we had a good experience here and the food was good for it being in the US and the server was nice and attentive. I do think it's pretty pricey for what it is but the entrees are decently sized portions. Donkatsu curry ($18)- the fried pork cutlet was okay. They were fairly thin and not much meat to it. But the curry tasted pretty good. Oyako Don ($15)- flavor was pretty goodTakoyaki ($7)- was a little too crispy for my liking but flavor was good

Karé Bar offers a unique menu full of flavorful appetizers and curry dishes. I tried the hamburger steak curry, and while the curry sauce was rich and well-seasoned, the dish was let down by a few key issues. The portion of rice was disappointingly small, which made the meal feel unbalanced. Additionally, the hamburger steak was undercooked, with noticeable redness in the meat.Despite these drawbacks, the ambiance was pleasant and the staff were friendly. With more generous rice portions and better attention to cooking the meat thoroughly, Karé Bar could provide a much better dining experience.

Beautiful restaurant with a very clean aesthetic. I enjoyed the amount of space my friends and I had, while we were there. It was not very crowded, but we were there on a Wednesday night. We were provided waters and menus as soon as we arrived. The servers were very polite and not intrusive or rushing, making it a pleasant experience. The food was very delicious. The takoyaki had so much flavor and the sauce that came with paired well and wasn't overpowering. Unfortunately, the price did not match the quantity provided. The chicken katsu was wonderful, the portion of meat was perfect and the flavors blended well together when adding the curry. There wasn't that much rice that came with the dish, so I was eating it rather sparingly. Can be a bit more on the pricey side, but overall it was a great experience.

Food: We got the Katsu Curry (the curry comes in a cute pot on the side!) and the Katsu combo (it's not called that, I just don't remember what it's called) that comes with the katsu, miso soup, salad, and rice! The food is homestyle traditional style, but not necessarily when it comes to taste and quality of the food. Either way, it was still a really delicious and light lunch, and the price was very affordable for what you get! A lot of traditional Japanese restaurants in MD (like Temari, which is a personal favorite) can be very expensive $20+ for one dish.Service: Our waiter/server was always available and checked up on us sometimes. Granted it was empty in the restaurant, but he was very helpful and friendly :)Ambiance: I love the light wood aesthetics, and the interior design is super clean and simple. It's very spacious and clean inside. If I lived closer to this area, I would definitely be here often with friends/family.
