Jay's Catering

One of the clubs I'm on the board for, the Mid Atlantic Carnivorous Plant Society, was hosting a meeting at the nearby Gardens, and we needed to get lunch for about 80-members, and on a budget. Jay's came through for us. We got a bunch of boxed lunches, which have three tiers, Executive, Secretary, and Kid's. We got everyone the Secretary level. I'm going to be honest -- the names of these tiers kind of bother me a little bit, and I'm not sure I can articulate exactly why, but "Executive" for the fancy lunch and "Secretary" for the less expensive just seems a little out of touch today. Anyhow....The Secretary level is your choice of several deli sandwiches, with a bag of chips and a cookie. The sandwiches were good; nothing to really rave about, but good enough. They have a pretty wide variety, and with a lot of options. Chips are just chips, and the cookie was okay. I don't think I'd order this regularly for lunch, but for a single event, it was at least good. They provided everything we needed, they got it to us on time, and they did it without any issues -- five stars! :)

I would give 5 stars for the food, but the office that deals with corporate catering gets a 2. First of all, you get passed around a lot on the phone to different people. I am used to dealing with one person that takes care of all my needs (customer service). Secondly, when asking for food service, 100% of my other caterers send me a quote or invoice immediately that same day. Jay's does not and it's like pulling teeth to get an invoice or quote out of these people. I have had to email and call multiple times and I should not have to do that. Something is broken with their process regarding invoices or quotes. They really really need to work on this, it's extremely important in order to keep clients, as I have definitely cut back on using them JUST for this very reason and no other (because I don't have time nor should I have to chase invoices or quotes). The only way I can keep track of the many many orders I process each week is by getting a timely invoice or quote emailed to me the same day I call in the order. I don't care if the order is for next week, two weeks from now, etc., the invoice needs to get to the client immediately. I really hope the Owner reads this and changes the process because it's very frustrating.

They do pretty well for breakfast as well as lunch. The bagels are just ok, they have good fruit salads and the most adorable mini donuts (Apparently the regular sized ones are much too big for the average person).For lunch, they make some fantastic sliders (regular burger, buffalo chicken, Philly cheesesteak, and vegetarian) as well as a salad that is loaded. Overall, it's pretty great.

We've used Jay's (Biddle Street) Catering for many company events. They can be depended upon to deliver so you have ample time to set up. The food is delicious and none was left behind! I highly recommend Jay's Catering. Oh, and the potato salad is the best!

Patty and the guys showed up well in advance of the party so they could be sure to be ready as guests arrived. They were so helpful. The food was outstanding and I highly recommend them for all your needs. They were available on short notice and knocked it out of the ballpark. Thank you for making the day easier and providing great food and service.

Jays Catering did an amazing job catering my wedding in Annapolis at the Chesapeake Bay foundation. From the asian inspired passed hors d'oeuvre, the sushi chef to the amazing dinner, the food and service were perfection. Jays promised an evening to remember and thankfully it will never leave my memory. Thanks!
