As iconic as seafood is in Annapolis, I think this place is a very welcome change of pace. The decor is fun and the food is delicious. The attached market also seems to have a wide variety of Italian groceries. Def a worthwhile stop!

I grew up close to this spot, but for some reason tonight was the first time I've ever stepped foot into the Italian Market. I don't know why it took me over 30 years to try this place out because I am beside myself at just how satisfied I was with my food. Full disclosure, my experience was a take-out one and it was within an hour of closing time. Therefore, I am unclear if my customer experience would be different during peak hours -- I am definitely open to coming back when it's busier as this was a great first impression.It took a second to figure out how everything worked, but when you come here, you walk up to separate counters and order what you want kind of like a New York deli. Then, they give you a number and you can sit or walk around while they make your stuff. There's this really neat seating area central to the building that's themed: not gonna lie it's pretty charming. Unsure of what to order, I went with something basic and I ordered a small white pizza. The reviews for their pizza were mostly positive, so I figured that would be a good stepping stone. The pie I received had pillowy, yet chewy crust and the undercarriage was a little more on the well done side, but that's what I prefer so I was happy. Even though it took about 10 minutes to get home, it was still fresh which meant it was piping hot and made to order which at the restaurant. The fact they went the extra mile and gave me a fresh pie so close to closing time makes a world of difference -- definitely amazing customer service. A small pizza was about $13 which wasn't hateful as the quality was on point and the size of a small pie was much larger than I had anticipated.While I waited, I walked around a bit and checked out what the market had to offer. They have quite the selection of freshly made, ready to eat meals as well as a solid smattering of meats and cheeses. Worth noting some of these dinners are a little on the pricier side, but it's multiple portions so it evens out. I also got some gelato which I think they make in-house. A pint will set you back about $15 or so -- it's definitely not cheap -- but it was definitely worth trying.

I would say my food was so so however, I picked it up in the drive-through. I guess if I had to go for a quick meal I would go back other than that. I'm not gonna go out of my way for it.

I don't know why the rating is so low for this place in Yelp. Food was good. We didn't order too much. Just a salads, pasta for kids and a couple of apps. Whatever we ordered was delicious. Portions were small though. I didn't mind because we weren't very hungry. This is a market place and they have a large collection of wine. And they have a decent collection of gelato ice cream.

I've been coming here for many years. Their pizza is authentic NY style and their fettuccini bolognese. Also, they have a great wine selection. I'm not drinking alcohol anymore but they offer a huge domestic and international selection. A plus if you ain't see what your looking for just ask the manager if they can special order it for you.

Great food, especially the Chesapeake Chicken. Friendly local place to have lunch. Knowledgable & helpful wine shop in the back. Fresh bread & mozzarella every day. Only place in town (that I could find) that sells Petit Arvine.

I'm a little confused by this market. I finally stopped in after living in the area for 8 years. Not sure I would call it a market. It had tables for dining (you order and pick up). The stuff was very nice and the eggplant parm I got for takeout was good. There is a large wine selection and they sell pasta etc. but I expected a real market. Just not sure I would return unfortunately.

I cannot stress enough how cool this place is.great wine selection, clean dining spaces and totally awesome food. I love going to get carry out waiting with a glass of wine. They are a busy staff and focused on food. If you are looking for a great customer experience where the servers, owners and their children dote on you don't go. They are not friendly or warm and appreciative. But the food is fantastic and authentic
