The restaurant is spotless and the food is fresh and delicious. Combine that with the lunch specials, for $10 you get soup, spring roll main entrees and they top it off with a dish of sherbet! My favorite Chinese restaurant, mainly because of the fantastic food!

My lovely bride is returning from a trip to Ohio today, she isn't in until this afternoon...so one more strip mall chinese combo meal. She is a bit more "refined" so these kinds of places are not her cup of green tea. I enjoy high end stuff for sure, but there is something nostalgic about the jumble of amercanized stuff heaped on marginal fried rice that just works for me.Hunan Rose does this well. I got kung Pao chicken combo. It was quite good, just spicy enough to mimic actual Chinese dishes. The rice is a bit basic, but the texture is great . I walked in, very pleasant older gentlemen running the front/phone and register. It was out in about 10 minutes. You can't get Popeye's in 10 minutes and their food is already cooked and right there behind the clerk, just needs to make it into a box. Why is it that place like this are ten minutes champs! Prep, prep and more prep, organized and hustle is my guess.Someone else mentioned that its a bit dated inside. Yes it is and that for me was quite charming. It looks like the kinds of places you should be in a jacket and dresses for. The music playing was a old classic soft jazz version of some old classic that I can't think of the name of.If the chance arises to come back I certainly will, good place for this style/level of cuisine, good price, fast service.

I hate having to do this but I feel like it's only right to. My dad and I went there yesterday and when we went to order my dad freaked out. Turns out a roach ran across his hand and he had to kill it on the table in front of the waiter. They still made us pay for our meal but took our soup off. It felt like they had seen this before and really didn't care. My mom actually stopped going a while before my dad and me due to getting sick a couple of times on their food. I don't think my dad and I or any of my family will be going back anytime soon.

Ordered Shrimp Egg Foo Young and an order of Spring Rolls. Food Did not taste very good at all. Shrimp were hard and tasted old. Greasy and probably way too much salt and msg. I ended up throwing most of it in the trash. I haven't felt well since last night. Used to be really good. Don't think I will order there again.

I've tried their regular food and was not impressed. Prices are fair.The only thing I get here is the Hot and Sour Soup. Best one around town. My coworker likes their chicken wings.The interior is a little dark and outdated but decent. I haven't tried dining in; I order carryout 100% of the time.

Hunan L'Rose is an older Chinese-American restaurant located in an Odenton strip mall that has seen better days. The decor inside looks as it was from when it opened in the late 80's-early 90's. It really needs to be updated. The July evening that I went the air inside the restaurant was really hot like the A/C wasn't working. The employees that were working that night were really polite and professional and busy. It seems like they are short staffed like almost every place now.I ordered the Shrimp Chow fun which was a special that night. It is wide rice noodles sautéed with bean sprouts, onion and shrimp. The dish is savory not spicy and they were generous with the shrimp which is a plus in my book.Another dish ordered was the General Tso's chicken which was another huge serving size. It looks like they use a mixture of dark and white meat in case you are wondering. For appetizers, the spring rolls were really tasty and bit greasy but still good. For ending the meal they bring you hot towels for your hands and tiny scoops of sherbet.All in all I would come back to Hunan L'Rose when I get a Chinese food craving.

First off, the place just looks old and dirty. The fish tank is gross. There is ONE server/waiter/bartender. We waited 45 minutes for our soup and another 45 for our food. There is one guy filling water glasses and he wasn't attentive at all. We would wait 30 minutes to get water refills. AND, before we left, while waiting for our check, a mouse ran past our table. I told a woman who worked there and she said,"oh, thanks for telling me. I will call the guy back, he caught 3 last month.". Nope!!! That was the nail in the coffin for me and my family. Hunan used to be an amazing restaurant with a beautiful aquarium. The aquarium is a dank, dirty cesspool with sad fish inside. Don't go here
