I been eating here over 20 years they never disappoint they even have mini sizes all Caribbean food is not the same I tried to tell people it's who is preparing your meal can't cook you won't be happy I love this spot mamma puts love into those pots and she is a cool person if your a regular

On a recent visit I tried their 8.00 daily special size Oxtails.Portion was just enough to wet your appetite and fill you.The oxtails were tender and savory. The rice & beans and cabbage was not an afterthought. You can tell some soul and seasonings went into everything.I'll definitely be paying them more visits in the future.No pics. LOLI inhaled my food.

I saved this spot in my bookmarks and decided to treat myself the other day and I don't regret it! The lady that took my order was nice. In my opinion the prices are not bad at all compared to other Caribbean food spots. They give you a decent amount of meat and sides for the price you pay. I ordered a large combo plate of oxtail/ curry goat with rice and peas. I also got a beef patty with coco bread. Everything was delicious, good flavors, good seasoning, they don't over do it on the salt like other places (low sodium diet), and the side of cabbage and fried sweet plantains hit the spot too! I'm Caribbean and I'm from NYC, so Hummingbird Carryout really made me feel like I was back in Brooklyn. I'm soo glad I found this spot. Definitely recommending and definitely coming back for more!

Because Baltimore had a reputation of having great restaurants, I decided to try my luck on my favorite Jamaican dish OXTAILS. After reading the reviews for this place, I decided this would be it! Pros:Ox tail very tender, cabbage& and rice: Fresh, served hot, good presentation. Portions decent. Con: Taste- the flavors were missing. I tasted more of a tomatoes base. Without thyme?!?! It didn't hit the Jamaican flavors I'm used to. The cabbages a bit overcooked with little flavor. Dish over all 2/5. Beef patty: Excellent!! hot, light pastry, perfect! Great taste. 5/5. Con: None. The owner/chef I'm not sure was very pleasant and she was very aware of how to handle my food, very clean. (Sorry I'm a stickler for cleaniness and respecting what goes in my mouth). If I were to return this place, it would definitely be for the patties. Today may not have been the best day for them for this dish specifically. For the customer service, cleanliness and the patty of course, I would give it another try but for a different dish.

Beat Jamaican food in the city TO ME! Mama usually runs solo and she is so blessed with those cooking hands. I get the jerk shrimp rice and peas, cabbage and plantain platter with coco bread and it is 5/5 every time. Have my nose running and that's what I like!! The area is a sketchy but that's where the best food is!

I saw @charmcitytable post about this being the best Jamaican food in the city so I decided to give it a shot. Jerk chicken, plantains, cabbage, rice & peas, coco bread and brown sugar lemonade...all . The service was friendly and fast. I can't wait to go back and try some other things on the menu. #SupportBlackBusiness

My favorite go to for Jamaican food! The brown stew is always delicious! Hood spots have some of the best food.

The beef was a tad bit overcooked and the cabbage had no flavor. I ordered a small and was satisfied with amount of food.

I tried just about everything and the store that I called Mama everything is good I don't need no kind of season at all yes I love her food
