Food here was delicious. Servers were genuinely kind, the presentation of the good on the dishes was beautiful, and they gave a lot of food for the price point. Also beautifully decorated, great vibes. I got the Nepalese Goat Thali and it was amazing. The goat was so tender, and the Palak Paneer was perfect. 10/10!

Before Covid, I used to frequent this establishment for their lunch buffet. It was some of the best Indian food I'd ever had and the variety of food was great.Recently I got a itch for Indian food and since I work in Columbia again, I decided to go to the House of India, get up on that buffet.Lo and behold, when I arrived, I found they no longer do the buffet (thanks Covid). You can order anything from the regular menu or, for lunch there is a sampler platter deal. You can order it with a protein or all veg, you get naan, rice, masala, spinach w/cheese, and the cauliflower potato dish, plus rice pudding for dessert.I went with the protein option (which was chicken) and asked for it extra spicy. It came out on a tin tray that looked very prison-y to me. I dug in. The food was well prepared and indeed spicy, but honestly, I could have skipped all the main items that were on the tray. Those would not be things I would have gravitated to if they'd had the buffet. It was pretty disappointing. I wish they'd go back to the buffet, but I understand why they don't have it any longer.I would definitely be interested in returning for something from their regular menu. And their mango lassi is to die for. Just sad about that buffet. Ah well.

This place is a hidden gem! The food is great at an affordable price and the portions are huge. We got one of the combo dishes and had so much food we have another meal to take home. Everything was delicious and the service was super friendly and attentive.

I ordered saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan for my friend and me. I ordinarily don't order saag paneer because I'm not a spinach fan. However, the saag paneer dish here was a game changer! They use real paneer and not shortcut tofu. The chicken dish was fresh and delicious and a generous portion. The saag paneer was very flavorful, fresh, and scrumptious. I've been striking out lately in finding good Indian food, but this one was an enjoyable surprise! Definitely will order from here again. Recommended!

My son's friend from Texas came to visit so thought to go out to dinner. As a family, we love Indian food, but I also wanted to take the opportunity to try a new place. We have our to go places, but their prices have hinder me from going too often. We got there around 6:30pm on a Tuesday evening and found it completely empty. An instrumental music in the background which I appreciated very much. Less words interfering in conversation the better. We ordered tandoori assorted, which included chicken tikka, malai kabob, sheek kabob, and tandoori shrimp. We also ordered naan, chana masala spicy and mild chicken tikka masala. With the chana masala, I tried the bathutra- a special deep fried bread. The bread was something new to me, and it was hot and deliciously fried. All in all, everything was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the price was better than most.

Went there for dinner on Saturday. This restaurant is located in a shopping a center off 175 and has plenty of parking. Most of the items were good. We ordered papdi chat for appetizer and it was okay, nothing special. For entree we had chilli chicken, achar gosht, grilled lamb chops and lamb chops masala. Entree come with plain white rice and we also got a naan basket. Chilli chicle was my favorite. Lamb chops were really delicious but I didn't really care for lamb chop masala. For dessert, we had mango icecream.I definitely want to recognize the customer service. Everyone was extremely nice and pleasant. We had ordered lamb chops but they brought us lamb chop masala. When we told the server our order is incorrect, he immediately put in the order for lamb chops. I highly recommend house of India to everyone. Be sure to check in yelp. You will get 10% off on your first visit.

Found this gem by accident and so glad I did. Tuesday, Jan. 3rd took a friend to lunch. She's in her late 70's or early 80's to Hunan Manor but they were closed that day. I drove down the street, made a U-turn and found this gem of a place! She had never had Indian food before but was game to try it. Glad it was clean and nice inside.Exceptional Fish / salmon tiki masala! So rich and so tasty! She got the chicken tiki masala and said it was delicious! We ate half and took the rest home to enjoy for lunch the next day. Will go again and as often as possible! I do not live in Columbia but near enough that I often go. Also, the staff were so nice!

Free parking in front of the restaurant. Takes both cash and credit card.I came here on a weekend for their lunch buffet. For $12.50, thats not a bad price especially during the weekend rush. We arrived around noon to be welcomed by the staff here. If you are coming here with small children, they do have booster chairs and high chairs for them. Just be sure to ask. Each table is given a fresh basket of plain naan which are made to order. Definitely liked this. At the buffet table, they had over 20 items I believe. Our favorite items were the curry shrimp, curry goat and the chicken with onions and peppers (this dish is displayed on a huge hot plate). Their food were very flavorful and I would give it 8/10. Wished they had more spicy buffet items. In terms of customer service, they were spot on. The waiters here were very attentive and refilled our drinks throughout our meal without us asking for it. In addition, the staff here were very friendly and helpful if you had any questions about their dishes. rating 10/10This place is worth it if you want to come to brunch with friends and family. I only had their buffet which is definitely worth it. May try their individual entrees in the future. Definitely worth giving this place a try. The staff here are very welcoming and their food is one of the best indian buffets within the Columbia area.

Really solid Indian food with a great spice mix and heat. I had Garlic Naan and Chicken Biryani. The naan was done perfectly with the right amount of seasoning on the soft chewy dough. The biryani was well done with veggies and chicken, firm rice and a flavor that made me keep going back for a bite! I got this as a delivery and it came well packaged with utensils and napkins. Yum, i want more now!

This is probably my favorite Indian restaurant in the area. I really enjoy their vegetarian dinner for 2 (there is also a non-vegetarian version). It comes with a ridiculous amount of food, so much that the waiter had to push up another table against ours just so there would be enough room for the plates. The meal comes with a soup, an appetizer, large pile of naan, a choice of two large entrees, a big silver platter of rice, and rice pudding for desert. We always end up with leftovers. The service is always fast and friendly, and the prices are reasonable.
