Back at Holy Frijoles last night to catch some Happy Hour beer and the usual taco salad that is big enough for two people. There was some cool classical cinematic music playing that we really enjoyed.Afterwards, we enjoyed playing pinball in the Magnificent pinball room in the back of Holy Frijoles. Some of the pinball gods were also there playing a Guns and Roses machine Really Loud which just added to the fun and nostalgia. Bring your quarters, it looked like the change machine was out of order at the moment.Thank you as always, Holy Frijoles, for your fine food and pinball entertainment.

Great hip little spot in Hampden with pinball machines and surprisingly good food! The fish tacos were excellent and the queso was a huge hit. Love the atmosphere here, very laid back. Cool decor. Nice staff. Will be back!

We sat at the bar and really enjoyed the funky atmosphere. We had chips that came with a generous side of queso as well as several flavors of the house margarita. The bartenders were appropriately attentive though not doting. We also got a sampler of tacos which were tasty and satisfying (the chicken was by far the best). We rounded out the evening by playing pinball on several of the many machines. We will definitely be back.

I'll be honest: I come for the pinball. There are about a dozen machines in the back room. Bring dollar bills or quarters, this is not an all you can play cover fee situation like at Peabody. That being said, the food and drinks are pretty fair. The strawberry margarita was surprisingly tasty, although it comes only on the rocks. And you can get a burrito covered in cheese sauce. This is more of a bar experience than a restaurant, but it is a fun spot for a beer and some pinball.

Holy Frijoles is hands down my favorite restaurant in Baltimore city. The food is great and reasonably priced. The staff is attentive, respectful, and kind. I don't drink anymore, so I can't speak to the drinks, but the food really is outstanding. On top of that, they often have great live music that can make any night more interesting and fun. Not to mention their amazing collection of pinball machines from all eras. One of the best places in the city for a unique date night whether you're enjoying the music, the pinball, or just the food. You'll never go wrong here.

Well hell...2.5 is a bit harsh for this Avenue dive bar Mex food with a large selection of pinball. Really? See the food is average but not bad burrito, taco, nacho fare. The bar is beatnik cast of characters. Terrific punk and post-punk music playing, sports or Seinfeld on TV. Nice bartenders with some good local drafts. I had a sour from RAR on draft. Good selection of hot sauces too.So 2.5?!?!!!! Maybe for the fine diner who doesn't like a dive bar. But gif those who like dives...this place is pretty F'ing great.

This was my second visit to Holy Frijoles in the super fun Hampden neighborhood in Baltimore, Maryland. This was my first time trying the food. Holy Frijoles is a great looking bar and meeting space with a ton of great pinball machines. The ambience here is what this place is all about. They have the hipster vibe down. Fun kooky art on the walls that is all for sale. I had a great time here meeting up with old friends of my partner. The Hampden neighborhood was part of their old stomping ground when they were all younger. The pinball games at Holy Frijoles were a lot of fun. The food was fine, nothing great but no complaints either. The space is very loud so just be warned. The bathrooms were clean. The staff was friendly. I will definitely come back to Holy Frijoles.

I'm not sure what's with all of the bad reviews, because my experience was great for what I expected. Good food and drinks at a reasonable price. I had their crunchwrap dish and have not stopped thinking about it ever since...Good selection of pinball machines but they are a bit beat and not super well taken care of (there are some broken features in a few of the machines). The bar service was a bit slow and one of the bartenders came off a bit rude and in a hurry. However, the rest of the experience was good and I enjoyed my visit here very much. If I were a local, I would definitely be coming back to this spot.

Great food great service every time I go. It's a fixture in the neighborhood and it's where the locals hang out and go. It's not a cookie cutter food place, and it has a very unique atmosphere that most people will love and appreciate.

The food here is good and the margaritas are GREAT! Highly recommend buying one or two of different flavors to share between one another. The staff is very kind and will answer any questions asked. There is also a nice game lounge spot for people who want to do activities while or after eating!
