i've always loved high grounds coffee because it's the closest coffee shop in the area that is actually open on Mondays lol. I really wish people would keep in mind that this is a local coffee shop and not a chain. Coffee shop location. The servers do their best to get your orders out in time. Please know that sometimes they might run a little slower than usually depending on the amount of servers working at that time.Regardless this location does their best to get you in and out as quickly as they can and they take their time preparing your food and coffee and drinks and it makes the experience well worth it. also, if you don't wanna work from home, you can actually work at this coffee shop. They have a ton of seating where you can sit and work all day long. I think my favorite part of this coffee shop is the cereal bowl section which I think is so unique. I've never seen that at a coffee shop

I appreciate a small business, it's where I prefer to spend my dollars. This was walking distance and being new to the neighborhood we wanted to check it out. The spot allows for a traditional table experience in the front and some lounging in the back. While it's very community oriented the furniture doesn't seem well cared for. It's also kind of dark. The service was nice although I have reservations about the same person taking the payments and making the food. They were running out of bagels so we were limited in options but appreciated the vegan options, that's not always available. I ordered a large hot tea and I liked the loose leaf tea option but needed a spoon or a longer stirrer. Not sure if I would go back but the community seems to love it.

Came to High Grounds on a Tuesday afternoon to co-work with a friend and grab for coffee and food. At the time there was only one employee manning the shop and she was definitely trying her best, but they were out of quite a few items the day that we went. I ordered a large iced vanilla latte and a bagel with salmon cream cheese. The food prices were reasonable considering all things, definitely have stood up well against inflation. However, the food and drink were only okay. The latte was a little more on the bitter side, but the worker was kind enough to add more vanilla syrup for me when I asked her for an adjustment. The salmon cream cheese was very different, I was anticipating smoked salmon mixed in but rather it seemed like finely shredded or canned salmon that was mixed into the cream cheese. Was not bad but definitely not what I was expecting. Unfortunately my friend's order was completely messed up while we were there but she did not ask for any corrections to be made because she felt bad for the only worker that was there. The coffee shop is cute and tries to stock their shelves with items from local creators, but overall the seating area is not well lit and did have a little bit of a musky smell to it (but it could have just been where I was sitting). I don't think I will be coming back unless someone I know insists on going or I decide that I want to try out their unlimited cereal for $2.50. Not my favorite place, but I would be open to coming back if it was the most convenient option.

I found this small coffee shop because I signed up for a tour and this was the meeting spot! While waiting for the tour guide we ordered coffee and tea! Prices were reasonable l!The inside has tables and chairs to chill out..WIFI is available for patrons!Although it is probably an adequate..nothing special coffee house..some of their proceeds go to: Doctors Without Borders; Building 100 orphanages Internationally! Extra star given!Higher Grounds..give Liz our tour guide (Highlands Mural Arts Tour) at least 10% off for her orders because she is driving folks to your spot and informing them of your mission!

Best coffee in Baltimore. They literally make custom cold brews that are out of this world. Bars literally buy their concentrate to make espresso martinis... I think that speaks volumes. The new renovations make it so cozy and the ambiance is great! Mickey, the owner remembers everyone's order and always is cool as a cucumber when the line is out the door. 10/10!

Off the bat, I will say the service was extremely friendly and warm and the prices are good value. The biggest turn off for me was that while I was there a regular waltzed in, got some of the self-service coffee on the counter, and paid with no mask, all while chatting with the staff like nothing was wrong. The staff member didn't acknowledge this customer wasn't wearing a mask and seemed to find no problem with it. The hubris of that customer went unchecked and I don't respect that. It made me uncomfortable. The breakfast sandwich I ordered (bacon, egg, and cheese on a cheddar jalapeno bagel) was large and tasty. There was a lot of melted cheddar and jalapeno slices on the bagel which made it pretty spicy (which I liked), though the bagel was a little flat. I do wish the person who made the sandwich had cut it in half before giving it to me-- it was fine since I was going home and could cut it there, but if I was going to the park or somewhere without a kitchen it would have been harder to eat. The latte was just ok.Overall, I'd rather spend my money somewhere that enforces the mask mandate and has the guts to tell a regular to follow the rules. There's not a lot of places to get a cheap breakfast sandwich in Highlandtown, but I'd rather walk a bit further to Patterson Perk and give them my business instead.

Great place for a latte and a chat. I went here with a friend and we enjoyed the cafe very much. We've been drinking our way through different coffee shops in the city and this was another successful stop. There is a nice variety of seating including comfy leather chairs, regular tables and even some bar stools.

Mexico bean is very good.Moccamaster, black, 13 grams ground : around 12 ounces of water or 2.25 on the Moccamaster reservoir. This was not a sweet fruity coffee. Just perfect coffee flavor with quick caffeine buzz.

The main stars at High Grounds are certainly their espresso-based drinks, although they do have quirks like bottomless cereal. The latte was good and the iced chai great. The prices were more than fair, probably one of the most reasonably priced coffee shops I've been to in Baltimore. Unfortunately, the ambiance was lacking and lighting was dim. Service was kind but slow since the barista also prepared food and handled the register.
