I absolutely love this place. I live in Woodbridge and I find a way to multi task and make my way here at least once a month. My favorite: the Chitterlings and the turkey wings. The potato salad is sooo good too. But back to the chitterlings. If you like chitterlings, you'll LOVE this place. If you love chitterlings, you'll break out in hysterical laughter when you see how much they give you. Well worth my drive and my time and my money!! Oh and they are so nice and accommodating too. All the neighborhood seniors love them too. And if you can satisfy a 70 yr old Southern Black Lady with your carry out food, you're really doing something.}{They closed for renovations once and I was depressed.}

A well known spot to locals but not so much to the general public, Heights Seafood actually has a limited seafood menu. However what they do offer is reliable. And that's saying a lot when it comes to fish and shellfish. I am careful about where I get my seafood and this place has yet to disappoint me.What their Yelp name does not tell you is they also have an abundance of other, hot foods, such as ribs, turkey wings, chicken (cooked several different ways--baked; fried; barbecued), pork chops, chitterlings, pig's feet, meat loaf, etc. Sides are numerous, including string beans, mac & cheese, cole slaw, potato salad, greens, lima beans, and, well, you get the picture.The full name of this establishment is "Heights Seafood and Soul Food Deli"; it's found in a small, nondescript shopping center near Catholic University (by Cardinal Stadium). Your mother would approve of you buying your meal here.The ladies who run the show are a riot. I chuckle every time I am in here.The prices are very reasonable.They've been at it since 1987.Take-out only; breakfast, lunch and dinner.My go-to is catfish fillet dinner with 2 sides and bread for $11.95--a deal for DC.I really don't want to post this review coz I want to have this place to myself, but I'm finally going to let the cat out of the bag.

Very solid mom and pop takeout when you're on the go. Call ahead available. Menu has a variety of soul / southern favorites: catfish, tilapia, swan, shrimp, fried oysters, collard greens, black eye peas, even, humble delicacies like pigs feet and chicken liver. The catfish filet dinner came with five or six light and crispy pieces, a heap of mashed potatoes and peas but and bread. Sides are of your choosing. I basically got two hearty home cooked meals for $12 and in DC, that's a steal. Owners are Korean so they offer bulgoggi, which I saw too late, but I made a mental note for next time.P.S. not SWAN but SWAI on the menu. Still I'll let it ride.

Yummmm. Came in here for the first time today; was working over at CUA and had about 20 minutes to get out and get back and get fed. Didn't want Subway again, and REALLY didn't want to get lupper from 7-11 again! So I decided to check this place out. Didn't have time for anything complex. Ordered the catfish sandwich. Bread options were white or wheat. My expectations were low ... though when I grabbed the bag it seemed oddly heavy. This was an absolutely basic sandwich. Two slim slices of something very like Wonder Bread, tartar sauce, and fish. But holy smokes, they heap the catfish on that thing! There was a veritable mountain of fresh, piping hot catfish, dredged in exactly the right amount of cornmeal and fried just like Daddy used to make. This is NOT haute cuisine. But it's damn delicious.

When you walk in you're greeted with the powerful odor of pig feet and chitlins. Just plain ole pig feet and chitlins boiled in some water with maybe a sprinkle of salt. There's no aroma of celery, bell pepper, and onions like slow cooking into some savory pork. Then there's the flies buzzing. Despite me knowing just from the look and smell of the place that the food would be subpar, I still ordered food. And it was some of the nastiest food I've ever had. I say that unequivocally. Having grown up on both soul food and fried seafood, I find the lack of care in regard to this food to be offensive. The candied yams are straight out of the can. The cabbage has been steamed with no seasoning. The meats are tough and dry. The macaroni is made with soggy noodles and American cheese.Need I go on?

I have been coming here for over 60 years. I was coming when original owners were here and when current owners took over. Food is fantastic. The baked turkey wings string beans and potato salad is my go to meal. Breakfast country bacon and country sausage are both awesome. They give u enough for three meals!!

Good food, but good luck getting by one to answer the phone to place an order. If you walk in, prepare yourself for a half hour wait in a very cramped space.

Get the potato salad! It is very good. Although I make my potato salad with eggs they don't and I don't care because I can add them if I want too. This is very good potato salad just as it is. The potatoes are cooked and cut just right, there is the right amount of crunch (celery,onion??), and they are consistent it has been good every time I've purchased it. Friendly service.
