As a DC native, I grew up on half smokes at cookouts, so this restaurant is a fav of mine. The food is excellent, the space has a comfortable vibe, and the service is always friendly. The sandwiches seem a little smaller than a couple years ago but very tasty and well crafted.

Stopped in on a whim and was pleasantly surprised! This spot is on a busy corner of 7th St by Howard University Hospital. It's got to get tons of business because of the location alone BUT the food & drinks were really good. (Had to take a star off because some of the items listed to come w/the turkey burger weren't available; however, alternative options were given!) The turkey burger was not a frozen patty but a real, turkey burger that was nicely shaped & cooked to perfection! Oops, didn't get a pic cause my BFF was hungry! The bartender Nick (who is A1) asked if my friend and I were drinking. I asked for something sweet & went to the restroom...the pic u posted is my drink! Let me tell you something!!! Nick got it right on the first try! If we weren't going to a show, we could've stayed there to chill! The ambiance is nice. Open & airy. Music was bumping but not so loud that you couldn't have a conversation. Restrooms needed some stocking of paper products. The staff seemed friendly and easily engaged in conversation when included. All in all, I'd go back. I want to check out their brunch! Stay tuned for more deets after my return visit! Fingers crossed that Nick will be our bartender!!!

This is absolutely the best bottomless brunch I have ever been to! They have so many flavors of mimosas and the food food is pretty good as well. Our server was delightful, and they definitely definitely poured the mimosas with a heavy hand. I would absolutely go here again, and it may be my favorite bottomless in DC!

We came for bottomless and didn't have a reservation, but they were able to seat us as a party of 6 which was very convenient. We tried both the bottomless sangria and mimosas. The mimosas come in pitchers that are already premixed with their different juices. The pineapple was definitely my favorite. For food I ordered a chicken quesadilla which was filling and a good size, but nothing amazing. We ended with sharing the beignets which were really good and came with strawberry ice cream. Overall it was a decent brunch experience. The food was ok and the drinks weren't bad.

Good food and service. We had some brunch and lunch items. Everything came out pretty quick but not too fast.

We went for bottomless brunch. The vibes were really good. There are games you can bring to the table like Cards Against Humanity, Taboo, etc. There are a lot of different flavors of mimosas. However, the food was not very good. The steak was barely cooked. The pinky and the brain was fine but pretty dry. The netflix and chill which was mac and cheese tasted fake. Our food also arrived at different times (there were 7 of us). I was done with my meal before my friend got her meal. The servers were nice, but everything was slow.

Man oh man, this is a sure fired DIRTY DIVE! We are visiting our daughter who is living in DC, attending Howard University. Clearly this place is geared to students and the owners DON'T GIVE A DAMN about them, because this place is gross!!!!! We sat by the sneeze guard that separates the kitchen from the customers, take a look at what that area looks like! RARELY, if recently cleaned. Dead bugs on the counter. Ms./Mister owner PLEASE apply a rag with sanitizer to the area! What with the furniture? Not Shabby Chic, it is TRASH HEAP furniture. DISGUSTING! Unfortunately, students that are clearly keeping this place open, do not think they should get better. The food was just decent, and not cheap. Come on OWNER(S), show your patrons some respect. Until they do, ALL customers should steer clear. Personally, I plan to call the health department.

I used to enjoy HalfSmoke long ago when they first opened, and their sausages and hot dogs were one of the best in DC. When I went back again, their sausages and hot dogs, unfortunately, became too salty, and the funnel cake is too sweet. Their milkshake is still the same and worth the price, so I guess that's something positive in the food category. In terms of the place though, yes, I saw drink glasses that were dirty, and there's a stench smell near the restroom, so I'm not going to comment on what it's going to look like if I actually went in.Overall, 3.5/10 for both the food and the sanitary situation in this place. A bit sad that one of the places I used to enjoy has now become like this. I wouldn't be back unless they make serious changes.

My group and I came in for bottomless mimosas and brunch. I really wanted to love this place because the vibes were so good. There are games, like cards, board games, cards against humanity, etc. if you choose to want to play them. They brought out jugs of premixed champagne and juice of our choice. The waiters/waitresses did a decent job of refilling our pitchers. However, I personally just don't think the food was good. I really wanted to enjoy the food since they have unique items on the menu. Everyone in my group got something different and nobody was dazzled. My friend beside me got the Netflix & Chill and I thought it was not good. It was cold and did not taste very cheesy. The flavor was very odd. The Vibe Check barely had any fruity pebbles or powdered sugar. All of our food came out at different times (~10-20 minute differences) and some of the meals were cold. I think I could have enjoyed my meal more if it weren't cold.I'm a bit disappointed in this one, but I would come back to try the bottomless happy hour for finger foods and drinksTLDR: vibes 10/10, brunch food 3/10

Came here for brunch- liked that the interior was brightly lit and they had board games, though the armchairs looked super worn and bathrooms were kinda dingy. We got the bottomless mimosa deal- didn't like how you had to choose between sticking to either sangrias or mimosas. Peach mimosa was pretty good, pineapple mimosa wasn't great. Service was alright, sometimes our carafe came out filled below the usual mark, (surprised server didn't ask the bar to fill it up). We ordered pinky and the brain and Cinnamon Crunch French toast but the food looked better than it tasted, disappointingly- was very bland and a little dry. Probably wouldn't come back.
