The food was amazing, I enjoyed the lamb vindaloo and will have to try the goat next time. Service was excellent, very attentive. The atmosphere was nice and calming, a beautiful place to eat.

My husband and I checked this place out because it was soooo close to where we live. Really hoping it'd be a great find so we wouldn't have to go to Ellicott City or elsewhere for good Indian food. I must say the rating for this place is very deceiving. Makes you expect a gem. Unfortunately, it's not a gem for us. It's like you went to someone's house as a paying guest. Small place. You pour yourself a warm cup of water from a carafe that's on your table. No ice. Get in line to pick up your own utensils and even a napkin out of its plastic wrap. No service at all, which can be a good thing I guess. Do you tip anyways? I don't know. Considering everything, the price is high. Sad for us. Back to searching.

I first tried takeout when they had a soft opening a few weeks ago and returned yesterday for their lunch buffet. The lunch buffet is $12.99 (Friday) and has several items. They did have chicken tikki masala, but most of the dishes I didn't recognize as this restaurant specializes in Southern Indian cuisine. They had several vegetarian and non-vegetarian options - my favorite was the Nilgiri chicken kurma. Everything I tried was very flavorful, even the tandori chicken had a more complex blend of spices than I have experienced at other restaurants. The spread isn't as large as Royal Taj or other nearby locations, but there were plenty of options, and I thought it was a decent value for the price. They do have styrofoam containers for the soup which was kind of odd, however they do have 'real' plates. They did a great job of refilling the buffet with fresh items during my visit. We have several wonderful Indian restaurants in Howard County but Haldi offers a different cuisine than the others. Several businesses failed at this location over the past several years, I hope Haldi is here to stay.

We catered the food for our party from Haldi. The guest immensely enjoyed every dish. Grandmaa's chicken and the Shahi Tudka was a hit.We would definitely stop by on some weekend to try their special lunch buffet.

Hours are crappy for me. Have tried to get food 3 times, but they are always closed. Closed completely on a Monday afternoon and 5pm on Tuesday

The Chicken 65 is LOVE! My favorite is always butter chicken but every time I visit the owner is always encouraging me to try new things and the food is great every time! Michael is a great chef! Give that man a raise!

This may be the best Indian restaurant you have yet to try in Howard County. I was SUPER impressed and I don't impress easily. We are big fans of Royal Taj, but the wait to get in is sometimes too much to bear, so we thought we would give Haldi a try. This restaurant is easily AS GOOD as Royal Taj, but without the wait. I should also mention we've been to a number of the Indian restaurants in HoCo and some just aren't worth mentioning. So for those of you who would like to try Haldi (and TRUST ME, you SHOULD), here is some helpful advice:1) They are in the process of getting their liquor license, but don't have it yet (in case this is a deal-breaker for you).2) This is South Indian cuisine. You will also notice that the dishes are spicier than "typical" Indian food found in the states. If this bothers you, order "mild," but fair warning, it will still be spicy. Even the chicken tikka masala is spicy. If spice really bothers you, stick to butter chicken or something similar. (Note - I speak from experience - The butter chicken is good, but it is not spicy).3) The mango lassi was the best I've ever had (yes - even better than Royal Taj). I highly recommend the Mango Lassi.4) As someone else mentioned, they are closed on Monday and close mid-day during the rest of the week. If you stick to typical lunch and dinner hours, you'll be fine.5) Clearly the chef has some executive experience. All of our meals were presented beautifully and were garnished appropriately. I was quite surprised - I didn't expect this. The food here is divine. So be sure to patronize this establishment in Elkridge. It's worth the trip!

We ordered takeout for the first time tonight. Loved the shrimp moilee and the nilgiri chicken kurma. The sauce for the shrimp actually reminded me of a Thai curry sauce. Its a huge menu, so cant wait to try more.

I am always keen to try new restaurants and this was one of them . Restaurant was clean . Servers were friendly but slow . We ordered gobi 65 and two of the signature dishes . We didn't like any of our ordered food . I started reading some of the good reviews from yelp and realized may be they are good in South Indian food , so we ordered Rasam , finally something better . Didn't like chole also . I guess if you are going to this restaurant try their South Indian items only .

This is an updated review and I'm going from 4 stars to 1 star. This is the second time this restaurant has messed up my order. When ordering on their website for pickup, they have a Happy Hour Menu where you can supposedly get 3 piece samosas for $2.99. Well when I got home from picking it up, there were only two samosas. When I called them, the man who answered insisted that Happy Hour samosas only included two samosas. That's not what's on their website and that's not what I ordered. He made no attempt to remedy this issue. In the picture you can clearly see that it says 3pc.
