Chicken shawarma wrap and french fries. The way they roll it tight and heat it in a press is so much easier to eat than a big sloppy gyro!

What a gem inside of the Cross Street Market on Federal Hill in Baltimore. It is closer to the S Charles Street entrance than to Light Street. Run by a Lebanese family. In my view, it is the only place to eat here if you want a healthy choice (ie avoid greasy fries or questionable freshness of ingredients). This place is great! We tried mixed beef&lamb shawarma and also a chicken shawarma. Both were great. Each came with a choice of 5 toppings ( all are very good, I especially liked hummus, pickled radish, mixed salad) and dressings ( I tried tahini dressing and it was excellent). The wrapped shawarma is the grilled in panini's grill. Just perfect for a quick healthy lunch - the food and service and the price , all are very good. Strongly recommend and will be back myself for sure.

In the market there a ton of options and on my recent visit I couldn't pass up Gyroll Shawarma. I loved that the young man working makes the falafel balls right in front of you and drops them so they are as fresh as they can be in the bowl. The flavorful rice, variety of toppings, and tasty sauce made for a great lunch, with enough leftovers for dinner. I recommend the tzatziki and spicy sauce mix to give a little extra flavor! The service was fast and friendly and there is always a place to sit somewhere in the market.

Gyroll is located inside the Central Market. I parked two blocks away, metered parking on the street. Walked around the market until I found Gyroll. The entire menu sound good! I decided on a falafel salad. The girl who took my order was friendly. She fixed my salad and asked if I wanted this or that. I just had her add to the salad black olives, pickled turnips and lots of tahini! She created a beautiful masterpiece! My mouth was watering! I also ordered a mint lemonade and Diet Pepsi. I sat down took my picture and ate. The falafels were crunchy but inside had a strange taste I never had before. I'm not sure if it was a different herb or if it was stale. Just wasn't as great as I've had at other places. All the ingredients in the salad were terrific. The mint lemonade was well balanced. Neither were overpowering and the lemonade was sweet.I did find it all to be pricey for what you get. I spent well over $31+. If I am ever in this neighborhood I might go back to try the beef shwarma

Food: SO good. Both chicken & beef/lamb gyrolls we tried were delicious. We also tried the baba ghanoush, which was a bit more tahini forward than I personally prefer. Fresh mint lemonade was so refreshing and not too sweet. Also tried the bottled guava juice, a product of Egypt, very sweet but super tasty.Service: As others have said, the owners are SO nice. We got a sample of the falafel with hummus (delicious), and the fresh mint lemonade (which made us buy it!).Will be returning!!

Overall- super kind and generous employees, delicious fresh food, and giant portion sizes. It's located in Cross Street Market and has lots of fun options to eat at. We went on a Sunday evening. There was live music and even with about half of the stalls closed, there were still plenty of options and we had a nice time. The employees were super nice and offered me samples without me asking for them.

Delightful gyros, chicken, lamb and beef bowls, and veggie options plenty at cross st market stand. Great for take out. I got the vegetarian platter and the falafels were made fresh in front of me. Nice and hot and so delicious. Good for a quick bite in the market, or take out and walk to fed hill park for some food and views. Service was great and staff were friendly and gave us samples.

Summary - Light refreshing shawarma sandwiches that I'd be back forMade a last minute decision on a Sunday afternoon to scratch that shawarma craving itch and was really happy we made that decision. The location is great with it being in Cross street market. Made it really easy to get some Taharka after. The service was efficient, but the staff was really nice and friendly. In addition to offering samples (nice touch!), they took the time to chat with patrons. Definitely can't say the same for some of the other establishments in Cross street market. The shawarmas were not as greasy and heavy as the usual spots around town, but they pack a good flavor. Prices were very reasonable. I'd go back.

This is hands down the best falafel I've had in Baltimore and the staff is incredibly kind and generous. I live in north baltimore and frequently come down through awful harbor traffic specifically to get this wrap, it's just that good.

I dropped by the stall located on cross street market a couple of weeks ago. Owner or at least I presume was friendly and gave me a sample to try. I opted for the lamb, the sauce I recall had a subtle spicy sweetness to it. It was not a bad shawarma. Honestly, Shawarma's are largely country specific since many middle eastern countries have their own variations. Anywho, check them out.

No words just silence while you're eating...that means the food is delicious. Located in the FH food market, great place to venture to in the cold Winter months or just in general for a bite of fresh food.
