I pride myself on making pretty great turkey burgers guys but NO. BURGER. EVER. Holds a candle to these. Not a beef burger... Not a salmon burger... Not a Bison burger.... Not a lamb burger... Not a chicken burger... Not a.... Well, you get where I'm goin with these. EVERY time they are grilled fresh in front of you. Every time they are HUGE. They're always perfectly cooked through while remaining sooooo juicy and so flavorful and while not a lot of things will get me out of bed super early to drive across town, these burgers are what I dream about and look forward to during the week. They're all delicious but the classic made Gary's way with turkey bacon, BBQ, cheddar cheese, and horseradish mustard can NOT be beat. When you see the line by his grills, know IT'S REALLY WORTH THE WAIT. Gary is also a super nice guy. I love how talkative he is with everyone and how he guides you through what they have to offer, being so kind as to make custom suggestions to fit your tastes. Burger King or McDonalds may be a better choice for cuisine if you don't like a bit of a wait or if you take issue with a business owner and his team taking the time to engage each customer :)

Gary's Grilled Turkey Burgers & Sauces is owned and run by Gary Thornhill and offers a variety of different types of turkey burgers (Classic Turkey, Cajun Shrimp and Turkey, Lamb and Turkey, Ginger and Teriyaki Turkey, 6-Pepper Turkey, Apple Chipotle Turkey, and even grilled chicken breast sandwiches (in Original Recipe or Jamaican Jerk)). I've tried the Gary's Classic Turkey Burger (freshly-ground turkey, seasoned with garlic, sweet onion, and with Gary's secret spice blend; topped with BBQ sauce and cheddar cheese; we also opted for some turkey bacon as well at an additional charge); Apple Chipotle Turkey Burger (fresh ground turkey stuffed with sweet onion and Granny Smith apples, seasoned with chipotle chili pepper, sweet paprika, garlic, ginger, star anise, cloves, cinnamon, and orange peel; topped with golden mustard, BBQ sauce, and Colby Jack cheese); the Original Recipe Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich (seasoned with garlic, onion, ginger, oregano, rosemary, and marinade/meat sauce); and, the Jamaican Jerk Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich (seasoned with scallions, thyme, scotch bonnet peppers, allspice, nutmeg, ginger, and chili peppers). All the burgers are grilled over hickory and cherry wood with fresh rosemary and thyme, served on Martin's rolls, and all contain no MSG, egg, or breadcrumbs. What was super impressive is that each of the burgers and the chicken has always been grilled and cooked perfectly, regardless of their massive thickness (!!!) - it has that nice grilled, crispy exterior, but the inside is always cooked all the way through and super juicy. While there are different flavors, all seem to have the similar basic blend of stronger spices that are used and end up kind of tasting the same - it's just that the Apple Chipotle Turkey and the Jamaican Jerk Grilled Chicken has a more of a kick to them - I have to try the Cajun Shrimp & Turkey burger next time (they were sold out of these first thing in the morning!). I recommend in opting out of the BBQ sauce, as the burger alone is seasoned and flavorful enough - I just wish that there was ketchup or mayo available! This place always has a line, no matter how early you go - Gary does orders by 'sets,' so after you put in your order, he'll give you a very generous 'estimate' on when to come back to pick up your purchases. Ours was quoted 1 hour, but we actually ended up waiting 2.5+! The wait might not be worth it to some, but just note that the tent is set up at the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, and you can technically roam around, get some other bites, and come back. He really does serve up the best turkey burgers, and it is one of those cool experiences if you're at the Market. The staff are super friendly, efficient, and really make sure that each order is accurate - Mr. Gary himself is super personable and likes talking it up with the customers. Also note that some 'regulars' may conveniently 'cut' in line, and it seems like a natural thing. Parking is limited around the area, but some free spots can be found with persistence. Located currently at Pleasant and Fallsway.+perfectly-grilled and -cooked turkey burgers! :D+Apple Chipotle Turkey Burger+no need for BBQ sauce+no need for the turkey bacon+served on Martin's rolls+MSG-, breadcrumbs-, and egg-free!+cash only+friendly staff+'regulars' do cut in the queue (!!!)+very generous wait time given (expect a 2.5+ hour wait)+limited parking around the Bazaar

I would love to rave about the burgers but after waiting over an hour in line when we were told there were 6 on the grill and we were in the count for 2 of the six coming off in 10 mins to an hour later no burgers were even started for our 2. we couldn't wait any longer and got our money back. There needs to be a better system there's no way a 10 minute 6 on the grilled turned into 1 hr and no burgers prepped.. I would probably place my order and do my farmer's market shopping and come back but I'd be afraid my order would be given away.

Totally agree with Paul T's review. I wouldn't normally go for a turkey burger, but their stand at the University of Maryland Farmers Market on Tuesdays is usually 20 strong. A thick juicy burger with a flavorful crispy outside. I got it with a slice of cheddar (provolone is also an option) and a smear of all-natural BBQ sauce. Other sauce options include a horseradish, hot sauce, and super hot sauce. Very yum, and worth the wait (waited over twenty minutes). One complaint was they were pulling together call-ahead orders (which we didn't know we could do at a farmers market stand) and it was torture to wait while burgers were packed up and stacked at the table close to the line, while the line barely moved. That's why I knocked off a star. Workers were very friendly, but they could sacrifice some chit chat to move the line a little faster.

Okay, the Baltimore Farmers' market has got a number of great vendors, but this one is simply outstanding and deserving of their own listing. Besides, Gary's on the road like Jack Kerouac and (if you're really, really lucky) can be found at a Farmers' Market near you. When I first noticed Gary's stand, I was immediately dubious. Turkey burgers tend to be dry and flavorless things (in my experience), and frankly there are so many great food options at the Farmers' Market I was ready to keep walking. But why was the line so long? I was also intrigued by the myriad bottles of hot sauce on display, so I decided to give it a go.Holy schneikes- Gary's like Vincent Van Gough, only with a turkey burger. And both ears. The burger was beautifully moist, with a complex multi-layered smokiness I found to be simply delicious. A layer of barbeque sauce underneath provides a sweet tanginess that serves as a masterful counterpoint to the spicy horseradish mustard adorning the cheddar cheese on top. The whole works is delivered in a potato bun which is a nice touch.Gary himself shows an obviously sincere interest in his customers' enjoyment of his creations, asking each new customer to "come back and tell me how it is." This passion for quality shows in this simple, honest and delicious sandwich that delivers far more than its $5 price tag would suggest.

We live at McHenry Row and Gary and his team came by, hopefully sponsored, and gave away free turkey burgers. Now, I've never had any kind of poultry burger. Not exactly my thing--I love red meat! THESE BURGERS WERE OUTSTANDING. PHENOMENAL. My roommate and I got the six-pepper burger, which has diced/chopped chili peppers in the patty and is topped with pepper jack cheese and this amazing BBQ sauce. My best friend and boyfriend both got his original burger, which were very different. Had thyme in the patty and was very smoky, topped with BBQ, a horseradish sauce, and BBQ. Personally prefer the six pepper, but both were delicious! I highly recommend grabbing one up whenever you see him around or at the farmer's market. Don't forget to tip :) The "staff" is stellar as well!!

I've bought many of his delicious turkey burgers and they were always big and juicy. Gary has his own homemade sauces to choose from as well. I haven't been able to find his new location and would appreciate if he is still in business and where is his new location. Help me get another fabulous turkey burger from this man.
