The food was delicious, fresh and good quality. The location is very convenient, not too far from the Cunningham Fall State Park, MD and next to the main road It is a good choice for anyone wants to visit and enjoy your day at the park. This place has a spacious dining room that is simply furnished with coastal or bungalow style room, also there is lot of parking spot outside with outdoor patio seating is available. p.s. When I was there, I was waiting for food a little long time, maybe it was because they just opened, anyway it is not a big deal for me, and the waitress service was fine.

As someone mentioned here earlier .. this a classic dive bar. My buddy and I have swung in three times in the past 6 months after hiking in the area. Each time we've enjoyed almost all of their appetizers, the affordable cans of PBR and the selection of random taps. They seem to always have a couple taps for one dollar pours as well. The staff and service have been commendable each time.

I've been here a few times and the food is basic. The steamed large Maryland Crabs weren't very hot, our cream of crab soup had to be heated and our steamed mussels were just that "steamed". No flavor. I don't think we'll be back but on a plus side our server was nice and accommodating.

I recognize this place is a local favorite. I wasn't impressed with any of their broiled or fried food. The steamed crab legs were underwhelming and the crab cakes and fried shrimp were just ok. I would have liked the crab legs to have some kind of seafood seasoning to subdue the blandness of crab legs that are simply steamed. None of the food was bad however not better than just ok. I think this restaurant is known for their all you can eat crab leg night as I observed multiple tables being served repeatedly with trays of crab leg legs. I arrived with a group and I appreciate how friendly the waiter was as we ordered our food from the bar. She made menu recommendations which is a signature trait of a good waiter. If in the area I might return to purchase crabs however I'll probably not purchase the fried or broiled seafood again.

This is a classic dive. The venue is simple - serviceable tables, nothing fancy to spruce up the space. Service can be slow as the staff try to take care of multiple patrons. No big deal. Why? Because the food is amazing. Portions are large, featuring tons of seafood and very little filler. The value is incredible!We had crab balls, stuffed crab pretzels and crab dip (what we called the "crabetizers") to start. All incredible. I will be thinking about the crab pretzels for a long time and wishing I could have one. The pretzels were long soft pretzel sticks, sliced long way and stuffed with crab dip. Then they were toasted. Amazing!I was full from our crabetizers so I ordered a cup of theMaryland crab soup. It was a minestrone-like soup base with vegetables and big chunks of crab. The soup had tons of umami, wasn't creamy and tasted amazing. It was the perfect meal. While I didn't ordered them, my friends got the crab cakes as a main. The crab cakes were the size of a salad plate (5-6"). Incredible.

Y'all, I'm back for another review! Hit this place up today after a 3 mile hike with my bestie at Cunningham Falls State Park and let me tell you ... they know what they are doing! We switched it up to try all new items today and got the Crab Pretzel appetizer, Steak and Cheese Sub with hush puppies for the side, and Cheeseburger with the sidewinder fries to share. OMG! After the first bite of the soft pretzel with the large lump crab dip and the cheesy sauce that comes with it, I knew I was going to be rolled out of there. It had cheddar melted on top and was absolutely excellent! I am very picky about my steak and cheese sub and this is top 3 I've ever had. Could have used a tad more seasoning on the meat but the fried onion and pepper was a great addition. The hush puppies were exactly what I wanted, not dry and full of flavor. The sidewinder fries were so good! They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Didn't even get to the burger because we were so full so we took that home for leftovers. Stacey was our waitress up at the bar and she gave us all the recommendations and was really attentive and nice! Please go see her and tell her to pick your meal for you, you won't be disappointed :)Multiple tables had fresh crabs and snow crab legs they were picking through so the restaurant smelled amazing! If you like seafood and you are anywhere near Thurmont, please go check this place out. You will be really happy you did.

Fantastic crab cake sandwich! My friends got the crabs and I had to paint the carnage, but I ordered the crab cake sandwich and it was hands down the largest crab cake I've ever seen. Minimal filler. Definitely worth it. Highly recommend!They looked very busy, and I hope so because I'd love to see this place stick around.Our waitress was very helpful, friendly, and answered all our questions with a smile.This is a hidden gem just outside of Thurmont and the State Parks. I never knew it was there but I've already recommended it to some friends--and you!

If you're there for crabs you get service. The server screwed up our order and 30 minute wait for a place not being full is ridiculous 2 burgers 2 cups of soup and a salad that was not fresh and small for the outrageous price.

once ordered we waited approximately 40 mins for a side salad, cream of crab soup and a Reuben sandwich. After receiving my salad I was told the soup was being made and should be about 20 minutes before it would get thick. I said I will not wait on the soup and the waitress gave me a menu to see if there was something else I wanted. about 8 mins late he brought the soup and my husbands sandwich out. I thanked her and proceeded to eat. the cream of crab I have had a few times there, this one was very salty. I did not eat it all and asked for a to go carton. My husband finished his dinner then we waited for a carton to go and check. I must say they were busy, but they had waitresses standing around at different times and never gave us a refill even when the cups were empty.We will never go there again. not sure what happened in the last few months, but something sure did!

unless you go there for crabs don't botherwas very disappointed!! three of us placed a order, one cup of cream of crab soup. didn't get !! ordered a Cesar salad with grilled shrimp and the lady brought a side Caesar salad out and thought I ordered it with a pound of steamed shrimp. 2 burgers. while everyone was sitting down after us they were getting served crabs while it took 30 minutes to get two burgers and a proper Caesar salad that I was charged $15.95 plus $6 for shrimp which I didn't mind paying that but at the bottom of the bowl I'm pulling out slimy lettuce and brown lettuce !!! Gross and I hope it doesn't make me ill tonight !!! If you can't serve or prepare regular food then don't offer on menu Will never go back !!!
