Fratelli's Italian And Seafood

In sleepy Hampstead, an Italian restaurant is a formidable contender for serving the best crab cake in the Baltimore area. That's really saying something, as I consider myself a crab cake connoisseur. Large crab cake broiled to perfection with no discernable filler. Super fresh with just a hint of seasoning so the crab flavor really shines through. Once you see it and eat it, the $35 (with perfectly roasted potatoes and several spears of asparagas) will seem almost a bargain. The menu otherwise has a large and versatile array of Italian and other favorites, prepared with care bordering on perfection. Service is superb and prices fair for what you get. Our lunch for two (my wife had the chicken piccata), came with a large, tasty sald bowl to share and butter-coated warm rolls to die for (arguable iterally if one would give in to temptation). Crab cake platter, chicken piccata platter, with the salad and rolls, and tweo soft drinks, set us back $74 with taxes and tip. Within 50 miles of this place, Fratelli's should be on your radar.

this is my second time going to this restaurant and my food was absolutely amazing. The waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and what was available. Food came out very quickly along with the drinks. We had a large party and they were able to accommodate. The ambience is, very welcoming and overall, this was an amazing experience

This place was incredible and I'm hard to please. I grew up in Maryland so I try to take advantage of the seafood and Maryland classics when I'm back visiting.The orange crush's were best I have had. Tasted so fresh and flavorful.The crab cake was INSANELY big. They provide salad and breadsticks for the table. The asparagus and potatoes that came with the crabcakes were seasoned perfectly.Crab dip was just ok.Service was quick and attentive. Ambiance was perfect.If I lived here I would be a regular! :)

May 2024We had reservations for 15 at 630. We did not get seated till after 7, we understood with big parties that it happens sometimes. After being seated, the manager had 4 appetizers sent over on the house and apologized for the wait. Our server Liam handled the whole table by himself and did an amazing job! Food was absolutely delicious and the 13 friends we brought in for their first time will all be back. Thank you for a great experience!

Just dropped a shifts worth of money for mediocre food. We ordered mozzarella sticks, chicken Chesapeake w penne pasta and chicken parm with fettuccine Alfredo. The pasta was cold and the marinara sauce tasted/had the consistency of water. I thought it would be good , seeing how popular it is but I don't see the hype. The atmosphere was basic and forgettable. However we did receive phenomenal service from Rachel and the manager at least. I will not be coming back again.

This place gets busy! If you are going to try do yourself a favor and make a reservation. They give you a house salad and breadsticks for the table. Both very good. The portion sizes are enormous. This is definitely a place you can share an entire. The staff is attentive, very knowledgeable regarding the menu, and pleasant. Why the 3stars? I dunno, the food is just ok. Not bad, not great, just ok. Nothing stood out. The crab cake was mostly back fin and just disappointing. They sangria was way too sweet and no fruit to be seen. Would we go again? Maybe, this is close to relatives that love it.

I always order the carbonara here even though it's not on the menu but is a special often. It's always been authentic carbonara but this time I saw they added a spaghetti carbonara dish to the menu described as "an Alfredo sauce" which is not traditional carbonara sauce. The dish they delivered was apparently the spaghetti carbonara dish on the menu with the Alfredo sauce but threw in some chicken and took out the peas. It was not the dish I always order when I come here. It tasted like chicken Alfredo which isn't what I drive from PA to get.

awesome food and service! we had an espresso martini and orange crush at the bar while we waited and both were tasty. I had the shrimp vodka pasta and I wish it had a little more spice but it was still delicious!

This place is definitely not serving authentic Italian. It's more like rubbery meat and seafood drenched in either a canned marinara or swimming in oil. The homemade pasta would be good if it were cooked al dente. Olive Garden quality with steakhouse prices. And if you do go here, try to get a seat near the door so the Smokey old fashioned other people order don't make you smell like a bonfire

I recently found this place, by chance, searching for a quick bite late one afternoon driving from Hanover to Parkton. Tucked away in a retail strip center, you'd never expect great Italian food like this. Wow, great food, great service, and reasonably priced. Seafood Fra Diavolo was fantastic with its homemade pasta, perfectly seasoned fresh sauce and ample seafood. I've been back many times and will continue to do so. Keep up the good work!
