I usually do not like uch Indian or Chinese food, but o m g....this place rocked!! I ordered chicken on rice. I was surprised. It was the best!!! I can't wait to try more. I HIGHLY recommend this establishment. If I could I would give it 100 stars. I will definitely be ordering from Five Stars Pizza and Rice again.

We just ordered $40 worth of food--2 orders of garlic naan, lamb korma, and lamb tikka masala. There korma isn't korma, it's brown and with no almonds or creamy based sauce. Both the korma and masala are filled with a gross amount of oil and are lacking lamb. The order of garlic naan was supposed to be 2 orders... They gave us one piece of garlic naan and one piece of regular naan. We paid as much as we normally do to eat at Mt Everest before the Groupon deal and only chose this place because it's really close to our house. Guess we'll be making the trip to Mt Everest again.

Whether I've had a positive or negative experience with an establishment, I usually don't write reviews. If I find the service satisfying I would usually return and if there was any other case I wouldn't return. In this case, my girlfriend recommended that we try Five Star since we both enjoy Mediterranean cuisine and the combination of chicken/lamb over rice, but moreover because it was close to us and we normally have to travel to downtown Baltimore on a weekday outside of a hospital if we wanted some. So we thought we had won in the case after a long day of changing flat tires in the summer heat.Unfortunately this place didn't meet our expectations. First,when we walked in we noticed how the cashier seemed 'out of it,' as if she was intoxicated. Second, the price was a little more expensive than what we would normally pay. I believe anyone else would feel spoiled if they were use to paying $13 for two platters with free beverages opposed to paying $19.20 for two platters with no beverages. Third and the most important, THAT PLACE HAD BUGS. A fly or two or maybe some ants wouldn't phase me, but multiple kinds of flying bugs on the tables(alive and dead) can be bothersome if you are trusting someone to serve you food. They were on the tables, floors, dead in the windows and simply flying around. Sad to say but the pictures I posted is from the ones I swatted away that were landing on me as we waited.Again, I usually keep my opinions about restaurants to myself unless its by word of mouth. However, I would recommend anyone craving Mediterranean cuisine or the simple chicken/lamb over rice platter to just stick with the food vendors in downtown Baltimore. Their service, food and personalities are way better. My home is just minutes away, literally 3 traffic lights, but when I sat down to eat my lamb was hot but the chicken was not. Maybe I have to try something else from them to be convinced, but I doubt I'll be returning. I hope this review of Five Star Pizza and Rice was helpful to anyone considering dining in Essex.

Great food! Always fresh!! The service is on point and the freshness of each entree that I've had was excellent! The lamb, chicken and rice is the best. I've also had their grilled chicken which is also great. You won't be disappointed.

Chicken Tikka is excellent. Butter chicken is excellent. Chicken over rice also good. Ask for the cheese naan. Staff is friendly. I love this place.

order from them said it would be 45 minutes 2 hours past they deliver the food but forgot the pizza said will be back in 15 minutes an hour later they delivered the pizza. this place does not have very good customer service they didn't even offer an apology for my total order taking three hours..Will not order from them again
