Famous Hot Weiner

This place has slinging hash down to a science. I drove an hour for their famous wieners and they served it up in less than ten minutes after I sat down. These hot dogs are the truth. I don't know if the wieners are made in house but they are full of flavor. The casing gives it a good snap when you bite down. The bun is soft but manages to hold up under the chili and onions. The french fries where hot and crisp. I opted for a side of their homemade gravy to dip my fries and I'm so glad I did. I honestly wanted to order a burger and pour the gravy over it with a pile of onions.....maybe next time. You seat yourself but the wait staff comes to you to order. Service was quick and friendly. They don't mess around. They get you in and out. This spot was worth the hour drive from Baltimore.

Not impressed. Have had better from street vendors. Don't waste your money going here. There are better options.

This Chicago girl approves of the Famous Hot Weiner -- good hot dogs, good everything dogs, onion and chili dogs are great. We had vanilla and chocolate shakes that were delicious, better than Wendy's!The atmosphere needs help -- the tables and decor are outdated and bland. They could spice things up a bit and it would be super cute as a 50's diner. Almost a rebrand is needed. Our server, Carly, was a firecracker -- I've never seen someone move so fast and do so much in 20-30 minutes of watching her. She's amazing.

We found this lil gem by accident. My husband loves Hot Dogs so we called early and asked, "is it too early to get a Hot Weiner?" The kind lady said said, "no it's not too early we have Hot Weiners for breakfast" the place was clean the service friendly and the food was delicious! Great specials and we left FULL. Give it a try!!

I don't know where to start I'm so disappointed. I used to take my family here every week. The last several times I can't eat their cheeseburger sandwich with everything. The burger is so well done it like rubber also it keeps getting smaller it use to be the size of the roll now at least two bites isJust the chili and roll. There hot dogs have changed as well. The best I can do is order a quart of there chili sauce and onions and make it at home. This makes me sad since this was one of my favorite places to eat.

Listen - if you are looking for a cute place for lunch with the girls, this is not the place. But what I can tell you - the hot dogs with everything and the French fries are amazing! The hot dogs have a "snap" to them so they are much different than the hot dogs you make on the grill at home. Service is great! We will be back when in town!

I love this place. These are fantastic hot dogs and I love their chili sauce. I always ask for light onions and even that is a little bit too much. Still, they have a fairly extensive menu with all sorts of combinations of key items but there's no way I can ever not get the two hot dog special. I believe they are using Kunzler franks, and they're split before they are grilled for a little extra Maillard effect. They are a close second in taste and prep to a NJ -style, deep fried ripper dog. The fries are your standard frozen 3/8" fries but the chili sauce elevates them to something magical. I especially love to add more calories by putting chili and cheese on their fries. Service is fast and brusque but it's always crowded and they have to keep up. I have never had any issues with order mistakes of the numerous times I have been here. If you're a hot dog fan, these are a must try.

For years we've passed this when in town but never stopped in. We finally stopped today and it didn't live up to the hype. My husband and I each got the special...he got two hot dogs with chili and fries, and I got one hot dog and one hamburger with chili and onions. I also got gravy for my fries. The food came out super quick, like our server had barely left with our order. The plates were overflowing with fries and the dogs looked great. I thought I'd accidentally gotten 2 hot dogs, not knowing hamburgers are served in hot dog buns. How was I to know under all that chili and onions was a burger and not a hot dog? Anyway, the burger itself had very little flavor. All I could taste was the bun, onions and chili. The hot dog wasn't much better. I'm not sure what brand hot dog they use but it is lacking in the taste department. The fries, however, were a hit, as was the gravy. Service was excellent. We were checked on often. But service alone would not lure me back. I was expecting more flavorable and memorable food.

Great food and great prices. We love coming here when we're in Hanover. Great spot for a simple but good dinner!
