Empanadas by Abuela

After a months of driving by Empanadas by Abuela I finally decided to stop for a quick snack. Tucked away on the side of a building, it's kind of hard not to drive by Empanadas by Abuela without even knowing it. A small shop with two tables to enjoy your meal, however, I'd much rather take my order to go.I was greeted by a gentleman who I presume is the owner, who was very nice. Since I was only stopping for a quick snack, I only had plans to try one of their empanadas. I was set on the chicken however, they were all out, so I opted for their Hawaiian empanada. Which to my surprise, was quite tasty. The empanada was fresh, piping hot, crispy, and filled with gooey cheese, a pineapple sauce, and cubes of ham. If you're a fan Empanadas by Abuela offers four flavors of empanadas and a variety of other Columbian dishes. I definitely plan on making another stop to try more of their menu. I love finding great hidden little gems.

Heard about this place on the neighborhood web page. Everyone was raving about how good they were. They did not disappoint. I've never had empanadas before, but, let me tell you, I'm a convert. Even my very picky husband was impressed. It's run by a father and son; and they are friendly and welcoming. We will definitely become regulars. Yum!

At first I wasnt sure about the price but after I got them the empanadas were about the size of my hand. Definitely will be going again, so delicious. The freshly baked bunuelo and pan de bono are also so good.Ill add photos when I go again soon

Had these empanadas last month and they were fantastic. So it was a very unpleasant surprise today to find that the empanadas have been reduced in size and what had been a delicious meat filling has been replaced by a filling of mashed potatoes with a few shreds of meat.Never ever will I eat anything from Empanadas by Abuela again.

100% AUTHENTIC empanadas Colombianas! Hand made corn masa, perfect filling, fried on site. My husband is Colombian and super picky. He vets these as legitimate! Delicious.

this place is by far some of the best colombian empanadas I've ever had, they were so good and flavorful i recommend the carne and papa empanada its rich with flavor on the inside and has the perfect crunchiness on the outside you can't get better empanadas in Maryland than this!!! 10/10 recommend everyone needs to go try
