El Salto Mexican Restaurant

3.5 stars. Lesson of the evening: you get what you pay for. The good: Party of three. One ordered the everything (chicken, shrimp, steak) fajita quesadilla. $20. It was enormous and, according to my 18-year-old: "divine."My wife ordered the Hawaiian Fajita. Again, impressive portion, perhaps needed a little more spice, but she loved the fresh grilled pineapple. $20. "I WOULD RETURN FOR THIS," she said. The sad: I ordered one of the Bajillion combos : ch chalupa, ch enchilada, steak taco. Chalupa was not really a Chalupa. It was a fried corn tortilla rather than the puffy dough that makes a Chalupa. The enchilada was run-of-the-mill and the steak taco had no flavor and was quite dry. No sauce to put on it; no lime to squeeze. $12. Lesson: Don't order the cheap stuff here. It will leave you disappointed. The pricier stuff was much more enjoyable.

The food was good my Jarritos had 37 grams of sugar but it was okay the people were nice

HORRIBLE SERVICE. Stopped for an early meal around 3:15 on a Friday. There were 4 or 5 servers and as many tables in use. We were seated and the waitress came to take our drink order a few minutes later. She returned with the drinks and some chips and asked if we'd like some time to look at the menu. 25 minutes later no one returned to the table. I left 5 bucks for the drinks and chips and walked out. The entire time we sat there not one other person bothered to ask if we need help. As we were going out the door I looked over and out server was seated in a booth eating dinner. My advise is to go somewhere that actually cares about customer service.

I've been going to this restaurant since I was in high school and just know that's been over 20 years. The food has always been good and it continues to be good all these years later. The service is pretty good depending on what time you go it could be fast or slow, but it's never bad. it's a nice quaint, seemingly family own restaurant. The prices are good and the quality of food is good.

The restaurant was under construction when I visited. I ordered 2 shrimp quesadillas to go. The portion was small. 2 is really 1... it was very salty. Food was made in 5 minutes. I will return to give them another chance.

Consistently good Mexican food at fair prices . Today the waiter was not very attentive but the food was good. !

Great place for a casual meal with the usual Mexican restaurant items. The drinks are tasty and not short on alcohol. There is an ample selection for lunch specials. If you cannot find something in that section, there is an entire menu of other options. It is probably the largest set of lunch specials that I've ever seen. The service is always top notch. For a quick, affordable meal, this is a pretty good choice if you are in the area.

El Salto has been at this location for over 30 years and there's a reason why. From the food, to the decor, to the music, this is the most authentic Mexican restaurant around. I've been here many times and the service is always excellent and the food is impeccable! There is no other place where you can get a large, fulfilling and authentic meal for under $10 per person. I've rated nearly everything on the menu and there wasn't a single bad dish. I highly recommend a visit. There location in Glen Burnie is equally fantastic. I've been there numerous times as well.

I thought it was overpriced for the quality of food. My burrito was pretty good and huge, but everything else was pretty sub par.

The one in Parkville the Food is Discusting No Flavor on the meat in the chicken Taco, ordered an enchilada & a burrito they put this nasty red sauce on both, I never got a Burrito prepared like an enchilada, I wanted authentic Mexican Food & I didn't get here, I should have went to Chipotle!! SO DISAPPOINTED!!
