EL Gran Pollo

I am super unsure of why I haven't completed a review for this place considering the amount of times visited!I've been coming here to eat almost 2 years now and I absolutely love each and everything I've tried from this place! My favorites are the Peruvian Chicken Quarter, Catfish Platter and Chicken Wingettes, etc. The Chicken Wingettes come in several flavors! The veggies here are super good too! I love the potatoes, string beans, mixed veggies, beans, etc!!There's not one thing I can say I don't like about this place! They have a parking lot, outdoor seating as well as indoor seating and customer service is always on point! I'll definitely be back again and again and again!!

Quality f food not consistent. Last time chicken was extremely dry--over cooked. Overpriced as well. Not sure if I'll return as much as I'd like because of the price.

Went here on a whim during the second wave of COVID. Hubby and I were looking for something we could carry out and eat in the car-yes, it's been "a thing" recently. We tired to order chicken and steak tacos (3) but were told we couldn't combine. It had to be either chicken or steak. Huh? Why not? Well, I ordered steak. They had a nice presentation in the container, and came with salsa verde and amarillo sauce( the stuff that looks like thousand island dressing). The flavor was good, but not superb. They weren't super stingy with the meat, but weren't overly generous either. Hubby's chicken burrito was stuffed full of chicken, rice, black beans, and more. He thoroughly enjoyed it. I think they are a little overpriced though. Sides are extra. And although we ordered a side of green beans, they weren't in the take out bag. Sigh. We did go back after eating and got a refund for them. It is worth a shot-especially if you want the Peruvian chicken. I've tried it before and it's good/generously portioned. Tacos? If you are used to the best, it's a good idea to pass on them at Gran Pollo.

Although I've been visiting/working in the owings mills area for a couple years now, i had no idea this place existed till i searched it up on yelp. Its located a bit past franklin middle school, there's a free parking lot with about 15 spaces. We visited about mid evening and i ordered a 1/4 white meat chicken and my 2 sides consisted of the chaufa rice (fried rice). Each chicken order comes with 2 sauces (which i personally think is not enough... i believe you can purchase extra sauces for about 25 cents each). The food was absolutely delicious, I ate it all before realizing i didn't even take a picture of it. It's comparable in price to other Peruvian chicken restaurants, about $9-10 for the meal. Chicken was well seasoned and the rice was delicious with the yellow sauce. Will definitely return!

Salmon was perfection. Moist and crispy on the outside. Not dry at all. Brussels sprouts were tender and crispy too. The chicken was juicy and seasoned well.

My family loves this place! These burritos are so much better than others I've tried around here, including larger chains, and I think it's because of how great the chicken is. The charbroiled chicken is so good that I buy an entire chicken at a time & use the meat in other recipes throughout the week!

Had a good first experience with El Gran Pollo, I think the universe led me here as I was driving around after grocery shopping trying to decide what I wanted to eat (the groceries were for the week! lol) and the idea of Peruvian chicken was on my mind. This place is super new to the area (switched over from a different place) but after seeing they offered Peruvian chicken I went right on in. I was greeted by a nice gentleman who took my order, I went with my usual which is the 1/4 dark chicken and for my sides I did the white rice with black beans and some green beans. The aroma of the food was great, the only thing I would've requested (and will request next time) is that my sides are placed in a separate container as things can kind of get mixed together or leak out when they're all in the container with the chicken. I was then able to pay for my order at the front with a young lady who had a pleasant demeanor as well. The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean and the prep area is kept clean as well behind the counter. After getting home and getting everything on the plate I took my first bite and was completed pleased! The seasonings on the chicken were good and the meat was tender. The green beans were good and the rice and beans were delicious and met my expectations. To top it off, I received a post card from them which is good for a free meal to celebrate their grand opening, so what's better than one good Peruvian chicken meal in a week? You guessed it, TWO Peruvian chicken meals in one week! :)

I went to this location on Friday. The chicken was good however the sides were unbearable to eat - tasted like they were soaked in habanero pepper (I got brussel sprouts), so there was no need for that level of heat. Also my card was charged for $19. Originally my card was charged for $17, now I check my statement and there is a $19 charge. Unfortunately for the extra unauthorized charges on my card, I will never return to this location. I've gone to other El Gran locations and never had this issue before.

Their chicken is to die for. I have yet to dine in, I've only done take-out but every time I enter for pick up they have been very quick and they make sure you got everything you need.

Food was very delicious, prepared quickly. Chicken well seasoned and tasty. Red potatoes amazing. Only complaint, the plantains were not fresh.
