I come here every couple of months to meet my family half way. Now after a few times I have found my way around the menu and have selected my faves. The black truffle pork dumplings I believe are the most flavorful of the soup dumplings. Nothing beats shoving that delicious sweet cherub in your mouth and feeling that broth explode in your mouth. The pork chop is no joke, the best item on this menu. Marinated then deep fried to perfection. Have it over soup. Have it over rice. Have it by itself. It's amazing. The ladies making the dumplings are always so nice and flirt with my kids. It's a small place but man, it's so worth the drive to this place. If you're in the DMV, they have multiple locations!

This is a small casual dumpling and cantonese chain that shares space with a tea-house. Look for the Luna Hall sign along the east side of the Chatham Station Shopping Center strip mall. There's plenty of parking in the lot just outside from the restaurant. Seats around 20 mostly at tables for four, with probably 20 more tables in the attached tea-house next door. We arrived in the early afternoon on a Friday, and there were only two or three other full tables. We ordered from a touch-screen by the register at the back counter. Food was served in take-out containers, and looked fabulous. We asked for plates, and collected up our chopsticks and forks and sauces and napkins by the register. We got the 6-variety "rainbow" soup dumplings, a sticky-rice roll, and a cucumber salad. We got a soda, and it would have been easy to get tea from the attached next-door tea-house. Salad was fresh and flavorful and generous with a bright cilantro dressing. Every dumpling was hot and juicy and tender, with good flavor. We felt that fillings were good, but not extraordinary. The "crab and pork" and "truffles and pork" dumplings were predominantly pork. The sticky-rice roll was dense and lightly flavored, nice with soy and vinegar sauce. And there's more appetizers and cantonese-style dishes available. This place is ultra-casual, almost fast-food in style, and better than fast-food in food flavor and quality.

11.16.24Rainbow soup dumplings were flavorful and succulent. So that I didn't make a mess, I squeezed and slurped all the broth prior to taking a bite of the dumpling and the dumplings were still moist. I loved the variety of being able to try six different types of filling which included pork, spicy pork, chicken, shrimp and zucchini, crabmeat and pork, and black truffle (pork). It would honestly be hard to pick my favorite. Each one tasted distinct even the broth.I believe this was previously named something else and likely under different ownership. During that visit, I had suggested in that review that providing a soup spoon would be easier to eat the dumplings. Fortunately they had soup spoons during this visit as the last time I made a mess all over myself.

The food wasn't that great. The soup dumplings, shrimp wantons, chicken bao, and the vegetable soup were all lacking in flavor and didn't have a distinct taste. Lovely presentation and secure packaging but surprisingly bland. The food is also a bit pricey but portions are a good size. Overall, the service was fine, the food came out quickly but I wouldn't necessarily come back because of the lack of flavor.

If you're looking for quick and delicious food, head over to Dumpling District! On this cold and windy day, I was craving dumplings. Their rainbow dumplings were right up my alley and they were perfect for a day like this. My boyfriend ate the spicy stir fry noodles and they didn't disappoint. They had the perfect amount of spice, sauce, and the crunch from the bok choy was delightful. Our cashier was friendly and patient with us while we decided what to order. Overall, this was a great experience that I'd highly recommend.

Came for a dumpling dinner (was in the mood ) and left mostly satisfied. Cashiers were super friendly, kitchen staff were efficient. Loved how the dumplings all came out hot and delicious. Inside is timid but clean, adjacent to kungfu tea.And here is my feedback on what we ordered:- rainbow soup dumplings: a must to try, very delicious and juicy - pork pot stickers: yummy- beef pan fried bao: tasty- steamed dumplings with shrimp and chives三鲜蒸饺: the filling was inconsistent, only a few tasted like what it supposed to taste like, all other pieces tasted flavorless , no shrimp and didn't even tasted like chives - fried pork chop: seasoning of the pork was great, but a little over fried Our overall experience was ok. Just seemed like their emphasis is more on soup dumplings and not on the steamed dumplings, maybe that's the cause of quality difference??? Pricing of the place was not bad. With easy parking options out front.I agree with what others mentioned about the signage outside. It's confusing and messy. Since this entire space only has 2 restaurants, no other and both owned by the same owner. Highly suggest to redo the signage. Do recommend by @WineDinenVacay

We went here on a winter Saturday afternoon and placed our order on the digital kiosk. This place is under new management and now called Luna Hall but same old dumpling and bubble tea partnership. Open seating was nice and cozy. Dumplings took about 10 minutes and we dined in. They came out nice and hot, chewy dough but not too tough, and. soup inside was delicious. My favorite ones we got were the black truffle soup dumplings. I also loved the vegetable side we got which was very garlicky and savory. We will be back !

We came for the first time on a Saturday evening at 5:30 pm. It was not crowded yet until 6 pm. You place your order with the cashier or kiosk at the front counter. There is a lot to choose from the menu so you may want to study it beforehand on their website.Everything we ordered was made fresh so we waited 15-20 minutes. We tried the pork soup dumplings (6 pieces), pan fried pork buns (6 pieces), and steamed Shanghai Shu Mai (4 pieces). Your number is called at the counter for pick up. Everything was tasty, but not large. The dining area is small, but you can also sit next door at tables for Kung Fu Tea, which has a larger space. Only these 2 businesses are currently part of Luna Hall. The only negative point is the price, which is $1-$2 higher than other dim sum restaurants, considering that this is a not a sit-down place with wait staff. We will return to try entrees next time!

I want to preface this by saying that when you get to the location, the name of the location is Luna Hall, but they do share the dumpling shop and a tea shop. We thought we were lost, but not to worry, this is the place! We ordered the spring rolls and the rainbow soup dumplings and they were sooo good! My favorite was the spicy pork. It was a bit of a challenge eating it because it's filled with soup but all of them were delicious! I'd love to come back and try their dim sum.
