Never been let down with their food. Today I had their Cheesesteak, subbed out fries for Onion rings. Also, BT said that their Seafood Bisque is "the bomb". She was right!

We stopped by this bar after kayaking at Mariner State Park on a Monday evening. Dugout Tavern is out of the way from the rest of the busy streets, but it is worth stopping by. They have one pool table where APA league members usually play, a shuffle board, and a number of TVs for sports games (although they are not HD). I could tell this was a local go-to for many of the customers at this bar especially since they all seemed to know each other. Our bartender was very friendly with helping us decide what to order. We got the Belly Buster Fried Fish sub ($8.99), with a side of fries (an extra $2) and Italian Cold Cut ($9.50), with a side of chips (free), along with a Loose Cannon ($5.00) & Grapefruit Crush ($6.00). The subs were pretty good. The fried cod (I believe it was) was nice and crispy and the tartar sauce paired perfectly to cut the richness of the grease. The portion was definitely money's worth. The cold cuts in my sub were fresh. There was enough acid to not make the bread soggy. The grapefruit crush was very icy. I noticed the bartender made it by blending a grapefruit fruit cup with ice and some grapefruit-vodka. When I was done with my first drink, she poured the rest of the mixture from the blender into my glass, which I thought was very nice. All in all, dugout tavern is a hidden gem that has great food and service. There is also parking on site and outdoor seating.

Best Dive bar in town!!! Great Food, Cold beer, and Awesome people. Free Pool and Shuffle Board .

Love this place. Great Food, Cold Beer,and Wonderful down to earth people.. You cannot find a better hole in the wall pub in the area..

The review by Joyce is a Joke. I looked at her profile and she rates everything a 1 star, except Golden Corral...4 stars (wow, what does THAT tell you?). I am a regular here and that is ridiculous. We are a bunch of friendly people who welcome new people. We always have a great time...lots of jokes and like a second home and family.

Recently moved to the area and friend took me there. I am a single female and have been back alone with no hesitation. Wonderful, kind locals. Always a smiling face and great conversation with bartender colleen. Good home cooked food with plenty for me to take home for another day. Sounds like bad reviewers were not friendly to began with.

This review is more for the people that frequent this place and treat Bird River Grove Rd like their own personal garbage can and/or ashtray. I have no problem with the Dugout but I do have a problem with how they allow their patrons to act on this street. Considering the owners also live here, you'd expect them to care, but they don't and therefore pieces of trash treat the area like trash. Very upsetting but really not surprised in this day and age.

Great local quaint spot with a mature crowd and fun barmaid Diane. Food is good. We will return.

Been coming here for several weeks and the food is great! The service is second to none Sarah and Tonya keep everything rolling smoothly.

Don't waste your money here. The location of the place is sketchy, the bar keep tells you they're closing at 1:30 because they're racist and stuck up and a shuffleboard table...really ? All the employees are 100% rude and I heard they pay people just to give them a good review.
