Donut Shack

I am not sure what else to say about this place except for it is amazing. I can't believe I have never left a review. I have visited this place quite often and whenever we get the chance it's typically a treat. It's quite the drive for my hubby and I, but we make it at least once a month or once every other month, I recommend the cinnamon roll donuts those are absolutely my favorite. Be sure you get a decent time as they are known to run out of donuts before they close.

I haven't been here in quite a few years and was so disappointed! I was charged for 1 dozen donuts after only getting 7. Why am I being charged for a full dozen when receiving almost half a dozen?

I got half a dozen donuts here for the small group of my coworkers working today, and the donuts looked beautiful! I have to eat gluten-free due to celiac disease, so I appreciated that they also sold pre-packaged gluten-free donuts from Gluten-Free Bakery Girl.

Other than asking the kid behind the desk what's good and him having no idea, the place was top notch. Old fashioned, apple fritter, all of it. Plus, solid local coffee. Service was quick, neat old school ambiance.Additionally, these guys aren't on the "let's charge $5 a donut train." Reasonable prices.I'll be back.

Popped in here because a friend of mine recommended it to me, and they were ... right. To be honest, we just got a few donut holes and not all were totally fresh, but they did taste good. There's a front counter with a selection of donuts holes and other pastry things, and behind that, there's a wall with more selection of regular sized donuts. We tried the chocolate ones, the original glazed and sugar coated, and each of the three tasted good. They just could have been a little fresher. With that said, the guys behind the counter were friendly and efficient and the eating area was clean. Next time I'm in Severna Park, I'd come back for sure.

We went slightly out of our way to stop at Donut Shack on an early Monday morning after crossing the Bay Bridge. It was worth the extra minutes in the car and the only problem I had was deciding which to get / stopping myself from getting all the donuts! The place is easy to locate off the main road in one of the shopping plazas, it has plenty of parking and they are in the end unit of that building, right by where you turn off the road (easy to locate!)The staff was friendly and helpful as I was weighing all the options. I finally settled on a strawberry filled powdered donut and a maple bacon donut. The strawberry donut was a great donut, but was a little sweet for me (not overly, but I'm a little sensitive to too much sugar). I saved the maple bacon for later in the day and it was just as delightful a few hours later!There is some seating so if I was looking for a place to plop down and enjoy a hot tea with my donut, I would have stayed - but easy enough to hop back on the road and hit the highway. I think Donut Shack will be the new go-to anytime I find my GPS suggesting a route through Severna Park!

Food - Really, really good old fashioned, crafted donuts! I ordered a half dozen, the chocolate cream filled - the donut was perfect, thick, yeasty, sweet but not too sweet. And the filling, too many places the filling is whipped confectioner's sugar, some sort of fat (not butter) and all you taste is sugar, not so with these. NOT overly sugary sweet, generous filling that complements the donut, not over takes it. I've had their jelly filled ones better and they are also NOT overly or "candy-sweet" either.Service - I went later in the day, no one else was there and the lovely young lady manning the store was attentive, and provided lots of information about the products. I've heard stories about the "rush" times in the mornings. They do offer pre-ordering on-line on their web site so you can pick up starting at 6:30 in the mornings.Ambiance - it's a donut and coffee shop, no frills, no hype, smelled wonderful of fresh coffee (not the overheated stuff) and donuts. I don't know when exactly they mix and bake them. But the place had that "yeasty fresh baked" smell. A couple tables and seats, the emphasis is on taking the goods out of the shop.While I've had their donuts before, this was my first time going over myself. What was I thinking all these years? I should have been doing that that long ago. Don't make the same mistake as me. Go!

Donut was fresh and great. The staff are so friendly and place was clean. Try them they have a lot of donut options but you better get them early or else you wont have much selection
