Don Pollo - Silver Spring

This place was pretty good and really packed upon arrival. Food came out in a good time and good amount of seating available. The chicken was good but kind of dry and the rice and beans were pretty flavorful and cooked nicely. I was shocked that they had chicharrón de pollo as a Dominican woman whose culture also specializes in that had to give it a try, well it definitely wasn't like the one we have but instead chicken tenders just fried up none the less still good and what made it better was that onion and tomato slaw on top. It gave it this refreshing yet vinegar punch it was so good we got some to go, with that being said they charge 3 dollars for a small size portion the size of my 5 year olds hand. The yuca fries were cooked all differently some were fried to perfection some were fried and tasted as if they sat out too long and then others were fried not long enough and tasted raw. Cashier was nice but the lady calling out the numbers and orders wasn't so friendly it's really all over the place when coming to this establishment hopefully as a team they can work together and prices for certain items don't continue to overly priced.

We used to eat here often; unfortunately the food has changed and not for the better. The chicken is not near as fresh (this has happened twice now). I have also had mistakes on my take out order which never use to happen. Ambiance is ok for this kind of restaurant.

One of the best Peruvan Chicken spots around the DMV!Don Pollo is "Peruvian Chicken Done Right"...in my book. Hot, flavorful moist and seasoned to the bone!....all done over an open spit-fire rotisserie and charcoal. It is one of my favorites places for really good Peruvian Chicken and all the sides are great as well...with the chicken fried rice and plantains being my "go to!" But, if these sides are not to your liking....there are plenty of additional sides to choose from such as green beans, mashed potatoes, salad, black beans & rice, potato salad, cucumber salad and coleslaw. All of them are just as good.I also am a huge fan of their lomo saltado is incredible. Super tender, seasoned juicy steak sautéed with onions, tomatoes, and spices....the topped over hot crispy frits (fries)! This dish is....EVVEEERYTHANG!!The vibe of the place is casual and both inside dining and takeout is available. You simply order your food, sit at your table and when the foods ready....your order is called for pickup at the counter.With great food, portions and an excellent price point....no need to say any more but to get to this place and give them a try! You will not be disappointed.

Busy little spot however, the restaurant was being cleaned behind every customer and upon request should you be waitingfor a table. This was very comforting. I dined on the Jalea con Mariscos and it was very good. I was full from the great portion size but it was so good that I had to stop myself from trying to finish it all.If you like sauce like me, you may want to order a side of the sauce before getting out of the line. You'll need a code for the restroom. The restroom was very clean and smelled good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and am excited to try on of their family meals soon!

I picked up a whole chicken with two sides for dinner and the chicken was super dry. I picked it up during dinner time, so not sure why it wasn't fresh. Very disappointing. The chicken was actually chewy, ugh.

We did a to go order for this place the chicken was good and seasoned really well but the fried rice was nasty it wasn't tasteful at all, I was expecting to have chicken in it but I was thinking of Sardis but next time I will just go there lol it was okay but I probably would not go back

Decent Peruvian Chicken shop with ample seating space inside. I got the half chicken with 2 sides, which was about $18. Chicken was moist and well seasoned inside and out. The fried plantains were a bit too burnt on the outside, but still yummy, and the yucca fries weren't dry.

Amazing quality! Polite staff.Quality of a 5- star restaurant with very reasonable pricing...Try the lomo saltado with yuca ant then you will understand my rating.

Very impressive for my first time. I ordered my go to Everytime I have Peruvian and it did not dissapoint

Amazing experience for a first time visit. Eric, the person taking our order was very accommodating and helped us order dishes either he liked or many of their customers bought. He also brought our food to our table. Neat environment and spacious. There are signs on certain tables where they skipped - meaning people will not be seated in close proximity to each other. The employees wore masks and gloves!
